Do you not think the Barnsley game is a rather important one in the current circumstances? I fear for what might happen on this site if we lose at home to barnsley. I really should try not to think about this yet because of Ipswich but it wont go away!!

There sees to me little point looking for trends from other teams be they Man U or anyone else, we are Saints and lets face it that brings with it it's own unique set of problems on and off the pitch.

No it isnt. This seems to be a head or heart matter. personally i think we are lightweight and despite Lallana & Morgan we rarely have that cutting edge do we? IMO.

But isn't it a tad worrying that we used to be a side that was always languishing around the nether regions of the Prem and now it would appear we are the sort of club that will languish around the nether regions of CC? How far do we need to go to find our true level.. I honestly do not know our true level... only 5 games gone not worry (glass half full) or bottom and only 5 games gone (glass half empty).

could not give a monkeys about Hoddle or any other ex manager right now.. take it to another thread. As for todays game we are light weight despite some very nice position play we did not really push into strong positions when we had the chance... many of our efforts were weak. We look light weight and will continued to get picked off by more ruthless, direct and stronger teams. gulp!! because there are quite a few of them, many of which we used to think we could beat, Blackpool being one...for instance...

I would like to put forward a suggestion that Terry Paine be included on thre left hand side of the banner. I realise for the sake of symmetry that another more recent player be included on the right, which I will leave to other to be decided. But paine on the left please!!?

the point is the style, zest and drive that appears to be present in an enthusiastic group of players and laced with what appears to be common sense coaching. Many of us are drunk on their mere presense.. of course we expect the moon, but right now I am ecstatic that this team is even daring to stretch its wings and get off the ground. To then see a few swoops and glides is in short a minor miracle. Metaphor ends...

Build a team around players like this. resist any offer/temptation to sell or indulge any offers at any price. If we do this and things continue as they are going, we may just be witnessing the beginning of the turn away from our last few horrendous years. Build saints build! The price we would pay for letting our current crop of good players go would be immesureable

Keep this squad and management do not let anyone poach or pillage this team. Let it start to do what we have all been hoping for some time.

Agreed but what is interesting is that people are now looking forward to games to see how far we are progressing rather than fearing another poor performance and "tonking"!
