The Gerrard tackle, the Lampard one and Paterson against Manu were al very similar. The only difference was how the tackle connected with the opposing player. Gerrard kicked air because the Chelsea player jumped up, Lampard did the same but Alonso then kicked hm which made it look like he hit Alonso and Paterson hit Vidic (although with a ball inbetween) full on. According to pundits this means that the Gerrard tackle was a yellow, the Lampard one should have been nothing and Paterson got a deserved red when al three should have gotten the same card (red).
