Think it was Gerrard's cousin rather than his brother, doubt we'll be signing him if we've got no money.

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11160 And apparently not on loan either, two and a half year deal!

It does seem pretty odd. As far as I know, no Reading defender's have suddenly become injured, and as you say, they'd not have agreed the extension if he was "in their plans" a few days ago.

Bitter about picking up just the one point off of us this season

I've seen some belters at Saints, but Baird's vs Cardiff wins it for me. It was just so unexpected, the thought "what the f*ck does he think he's doing" probably went through most people's minds, and when it powered into the back of the net, still rising as it went in, there was a moments pause, then the ground just erupted. Ended 2-2 though (after being 2-0 up), and a wet, cold and disappointing trip back to Reading followed.

Class! I guess this could easily spark a discussion as to how many people have waxed their dolphin in St Marys

What worries me is some of Jan's responses at the AGM to player selections. If my memory serves me correct, he seemed to prefer playing younger players with younger players because they "read each other better". For me, this probably means he's unlikely to start him, even if he is a world apart to our current strikers. For me, he's an intelligent player and we could really benefit from his presence.

Best goal seen live against saints at SMS/The Dell
Big_Bald_Si replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
I've seen a few crackers against us. For some reason, Tugay's belter in Strachan's first game in charge in Blackburns 2-1 win was pretty awesome for me. -
Agreed. To get 19 league goals in a struggling side last season is a feat in itself. Disappointing.
-
Because any player over the age of 18 in our team appears to be frowned upon.....
-
But still - good luck to the fella, had it not been for him we'd be in league one already.....
-
Looks like he's effectively no longer our player: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_4716778,00.html Bit of a shame, but I guess thats another one off the wage bill for good...

1.) Saints stay up 2.) We get a wealthy buyer 3.) Lowe leaves 4.) St Mary's is consistently full 5.) My willy grows by 4 inches overnight 6.) I become rich
-
Agreed. I think he could become a very important player for the season, as he's the only one who seems to know how to make an intelligent run.
-
Ha! This made me chuckle, because you're 100% correct!
-
What a pointless thread! Are we going to compare our current manager with every other random manager that might become "available"?
-
Because allegedly - Wotte and Poortvliet's wages came to less than that used for Pearson - cost cutting (again)
-
Erm....Dean Richards out, Michael Svennson in. Kevin Davies out, James Beattie in. Don't like Lowe too much, but there have been a few decent examples
-
Just read this on the BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/7777584.stm Thought he was Saints through and through? Evidently not. Can't blame him though, he's a decent player, but not sure how much he'd shine in the Premiership in all honesty.
-
Not sure about that - although it would be nice if he passed occasionally!
-
That would be well funny!

Will Saints be reducing store prices with the VAT cut as of Monday?
Big_Bald_Si replied to Big_Bald_Si's topic in The Saints
Nope - but I hear Reading FC have announced they're reducing prices to pass the cut on to their fans - which I think is fair play.
