~Good man - hadn't seen these yet. Loved Antonio's goal - hope we sign the lad permanently!
-
Now - it might be a bold statement, but I've been incredibly unimpressed so far. Why he starts ahead of Schneiderlin, I'm really not sure. Was at the game today, and I kind of got the impression he thinks he's better than he actually is. Tried to be too flash at times, with his extravagant pass and shot attempts. Jury's still out of course, but what are your thoughts thus far?

Player that wants to play for the club versus one that doesn't. Lambert please!

Is a season ticket tie up with a local non-league team possible?
Big_Bald_Si replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
We did have a tie up with Eastleigh for a while - season ticket holders at Saints got in free. -
Sign him up - great leader, talking to all the younger players and puts in a good cross. Not quite there on fitness - the cross for Rasiaks 2nd goal was awesome - although it took him about 20 minutes to get back to his right back position

I'd have said no - and i'd cite the example of Gordon Strachan. I remember the day when he was appointed and I groaned. But, turns out to be one of our best managers ever.

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/88793/Adams-in-line-for-Saints-role/ The only saving grace about this story is that its in the Star on Sunday. I really, really DON'T want Tony Adams as our manager.

Poll: Would you be happy for Pearson to be our manager?
Big_Bald_Si replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
I'd be unhappy with anyone other than Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink being our new manager now he's been linked........ -
Nothing from me! Well, bar sorting out season ticket prices! (i'm expecting too much! )
-
absolute legend! Stick a statue of him next to Ted Bates Money talks in football these days, but its nice to see there's loyalty left in the football world! Cheers Kelvin! LEGEND!!
-
I love it, LOVE IT!
-
Please, PLEASE stay Kelvin. No-one will blame you if you go, but you'll go down in Southampton folklore if you stay here. Back up keeper at West Ham, or Saints legend - make your choice (note: please take the second option! PLEASE!!!!)
-
Erm - you seem to have not read my kind offer to coach the team this game!
-
My old man and I always try and make this game - interested to see what happens this time round given: 1.) Many of the players will have gone. 2.) We'll have no manager 3.) We'll have no coaches. Do you reckon they'd let me coach for the game?

Is there nothing that man can't do? What an absolute legend. Tiss, Tiss Matt Le, Matt Le Tiss, He gets the ball, he takes the p1ss, Matt Le, Matt Le Tiss
-
He's useless! No work-rate, poor attitude and no vision. Good riddance!
-
Absolutely right. It was Lowe's lack of a "plan B" for if we ever got relegated which essentially caused all of this. Plan was fine whilst we were in the Premiership, but remove the £50 million pa turnover and............. We know the rest

Do you think the Pinnacle bid will succeed? Poll
Big_Bald_Si replied to Big_Bald_Si's topic in The Saints
Well said! -
Poll please mods! After all the various legal wranglings, do you think that Pinnacle will actually succeed in taking the club over?
-
My gut feeling is that the deal has been structured in such a way so as to "prove" that SLH and Saints FC are two seperate entities and this is a big part of the hold up of the deal taking place. I'm not entirely sure it would be legal to buy up just the football club and leave a completely distressed company with huge debts that they'll never repay. Its analagous to getting yourself a huge loan, set up your own company, buy an Aston Martin via your company, sell the Aston Martin to yourself for a knock down price, declare your company insolvent with no way of repaying the loan and write everything off. Not quite the same, but I just don't think you can "asset strip" like you suggest above.

Kelvin Davis acting goalkeeping coach; Jackson ready to bid
Big_Bald_Si replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
You've got to say fair game to Kelvin Davis. What an absolute legend. I've not seen that kind of commitment and dedication to the Southampton cause for a good few years. Although he's not been here as long as some of the modern day "greats", i'm putting him in the same category as MLT, Franny B and Doddsy in terms of being Saints through and through. Kelvin - cheers - and I hope you get the contract you most definitely deserve. -
yeah, good stuff. Hope things go smoothly!
-
Yes, yes it is. Glad I had work to keep me "occupied"

Some brief respite from the takeover talk: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_5389224,00.html Good news in my opinion
