I was going to vote for the Angela Coaches one that couldnt get us to Wembley for the 76 Charity Shield k.o. But Wadsworth will do.

Are people still waiting for Pompey ticket email?
Lets B Avenue replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
a) No. It dosent affect my life if we take 2817 or 3195. I merely wanted to know about my second application. b) Just a guess. More people have applied in the 2 ballots, than there are tickets. As they are having to check each one to record away purchases, this may be the cause of the delay. They also have to keep answering the phone. -
Not for many on here.

That was for the start of the 2nd half. The chance for Morgan was in the 1st when he was playing off Guly.

Just back from TO having picked up my bus tickets from ballot 1. Ballot 2 hasnt been processed yet. Too early to panic. If you are that gullible to believe this ridiculous rumour, would it be allright if I come round tonight and sell you some life assurance and some time-share and some double glazing and some .........

I didnt. Just had a note of the order number, but when there, I was just asked for my name and address. I also asked about this "returning of tickets" and guess what? Absolute bol locks!! They havent processed the 2nd ballot yet, which I am also waiting on. Probably due to the number of impatient idiots constantly ringing them up. -
Not disputing the "shambles" bit, but it was the 1st ballot that had everybody getting a ticket. The 2nd may well have made it a sell out. My point, which Steve has also made, is that there has been no definite figure made public. Trolls come on here and post stuff which others then jump on and rant, assuming it to be fact. Refer back to the Dan Seaborne Attacked thread as an example.

You are, of course, assuming that the OP was correct and not another pile of bulls hit that is all too prevailent on here. Its not as if the OP has never been wrong before, but at leasts it gives the usual suspects the chance to get all worked up.

I have a spare ticket if any of you northern monkeys want to meet up in the Corner Pin Inn. PM me.

Local lad who played the first 3 games of the 74-75 season and that was it. I played cricket with him in the 70's and stood with him at Wembley 76. He was and may still be, the steward in the bright red blazer, that stood at the front of the players tunnel and had responsibility for looking after the ref and linos. He was also groundsman at Sholing/VT in Portsmouth Rd.

Plus they played a totally disinterested Skates in the last game.

Our oponents in the prior round of the league cup
Lets B Avenue replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Before tonight they had gone 5 games without scoring. Since they beat us in the previous round. -
I will not be giving those bar-stards my bucket.

He either liked the accident, or he didn't.

First saw him in our opening game in 05 after relegation. home to Wolves. Filled me with dread at what lay ahead, after 27 years of top officials such as Rennie, Winter, Courtney, Milford etc. You also saw his regular howlers on the Football League Show, but it appears he has finally been kicked off the league list.

Kettle is the worst I've ever seen. Walton runs him close.

Well said!

I think we are going round in circles.

WBA away in the play-off season. Kenwyn Jones got clear and Dean Keilly made a great one handed diving save. 5 yards outside the box. Inept female lino (not Andy Gray's friend) wasnt up with play and bottled it along with equally terrible ref. who played on.

Sorry to push you closer to the edge. We lost 1-0.

We played at home to Chelsea that day. Sunderland were relegated the season before, which is how we came to sign Phillips. He didnt play against them in the 2 seasons he was here.

Le Tissier,Beattie and Lambert as penalty takers

Peachy scored 26 out of 28. Had 2 saved in the home games v. wolves and ipswich in 78-79 season. Made his full debut, as you say, in that horrendous night game at Ipswich. However, he had come on as Sub in the previous league match, at home to Q.P.R.
