Mary Corbett felt "threatened" and "physically intimidated" by Lowe
Wiltshire Saint replied to jonah's topic in The Saints
F*cking hell, are you Morse or something? The evidence that you provide is so overwhelming that you need to guess that she has been threatened? Get a grip. Yes, that's how life works. Someone says something, fails to back it up, but the fact that it is said means it may well be true. I didn't want to say this, but someone (mention no names, but it is a member of this board) told me that SaintRobbie is a **************. -
As I rarely contribute to this thread, I shall list the past few albums I have had on: The Holdsteady - Stay Positive Scroobius Pip/Dan Le Sac - Angles The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses Beth Orton - Daybreaker Band of Horses - Cease to Begin The Maccabes - Colour it in Primal Scream - Beautiful future Maps - we can create

winning the 4 team mini league relegation lottery
Wiltshire Saint replied to gjphilsaint's topic in The Saints
There is already a thread like this  On the first mini league thread I made the point that seeing the same old themes in every thread that appears here is tiresome and in danger of killing interest in the main board. The constant scape goating and looking to moan or blame is relentless. Now it appears that we can't even have one thread about the mini league! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=10298 Mods, can you lock this one now so we just have one thread? Thanks. -
An excellent idea Thorpie! I am surprised that none of the admin/mods on this site thought about this idea before or made it a sticky anyway. It is this sort of thread that makes me want to keep reading this board, not the constant "who is to blame for us being sh*t" thread that seem to populate this place. Good thread and I look forward to following it eagerly! Hopefully as a sticky!!

Please post a picture of your bottom. I don't understand why the council would send a letter to a blind person. How are they expecting him to read it? It makes no sense at all. It would be like wasting your time talking to a deaf person or going down the gym with a wheelchair bound person. Sometimes I think this country is run by the loony left PC brigade. Some busy body has probaly said to some office underling; "Send a letter to Mr X. He's blind" and office junior has said "What's the point? He won't be able to read it" so office magaer has said "That's just the way the government wants things done now". I would like to have letters addressed to me as "Mr Third Nipple"

Roy Keane or Paul Ince. Both great players who led by example, showing grit and determination.

IF we had appointed a decent British manager after Portvliet
Wiltshire Saint replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
Stanley, You haven't offered an answer to the question Deano6 has put to you. Why do we need a British manager? What makes us different to Swansea? Since WGS left this has been our management record: Mark Wotte 23-01-2009 Present Jan Poortvliet 29-05-2008 23-01-2009 Nigel Pearson 18-02-2008 29-05-2008 John Gorman 24-01-2008 18-02-2008 George Burley 23-12-2005 24-01-2008 Dave Bassett 02-12-2005 23-12-2005 Harry Redknapp 08-12-2004 02-12-2005 Steve Wigley 23-08-2004 08-12-2004 Paul Sturrock 04-03-2004 23-08-2004 Steve Wigley 13-02-2004 04-03-2004 I have highlighted all the British managers in red. Hardely makes great reading does it? Does being British mean that they are automatically better at managing? Maybe you could explain the lack of British managers in the prem or abroad then? Martinez played for Swansea for a long time so knows the club and loves it. You could suggest that Claus is similar to that for us. Would I want him as a manager? Probably not, but not because he isn't British (because there is no sensible reason to discrimate against him because of his nationality.....in fact it could be seen as xenophobic, not that I would suggest that is what you are as your post history shows no sign of xenophobia or racism) but because he has no experience. Would I take a non Brit who had a proven track record but never managed here? Of course I boody would. To sum up: Your point is a stupid one and you have not answered any of the relevant questions put to you. Please answer the questions and then apologise for making a stupid point. -
Saints Greatest XI - Your Views and Opinions
Wiltshire Saint replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
You make me sick, you pathetic idiots. How dare you drag the good name of this club and the best players this club has ever seen into the mud. I don't often ask for bannings, but surely the mods and admin can consider banning these three idiots. Shame on you. -
Peter Reid for Manager - campaign needed..
Wiltshire Saint replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
I think this is a good idea, but if you want a GREAT idea then you need to look towards Tommy Widdrington. I think Tommy was mentioned a couple of times when Burley was in charge and people laughed, saying he lacked experience and that we needed someone better. Well, now we have established that we have no money and that we are going to be a L1 team. Maybe now it seems more sensible for Tommy Widdrington's name to be thrown in? The passion he would bring to the club is what would make us great again. COYTW!! -
I once saw John Burridge eating a packet of salt and vinegar crisps. Micky Quinn, when at Coventry, apparently ordered a chinese takeaway at half time and later complained when it arrived 15 minutes after the final whistle.

Oh really. I didn't know that all distributions tend toward the Normal. I thought it was only where there is a finite variance and even then only when the underlying random variables are independent and identically distributed. You learn something new. The Central Limit Theorem also does not imply the more shots you have on goal, the more goals you will score. That is just common sense. The CLT just says over the long run the proportion of shots will tend towards the mean of the underlying distibution. That doesn't even imply it will necessarily increase, it could just as well decrease. Also, you are confusing the issue here with the Poisson distribution - it's not really needed. The Poisson gives the expected number of occurences in a given time of a random variable with waiting times independently exponentially distributed. It can be used to approximate binomials with a large sample size, but then you've already further approximated it to a Normal with the CLT, so I'm not sure of it's use. I think the implication of what people have been saying is that our long term goals to shots ratio is woeful, and this is due to the skill and adequacy of our strikers over the season. Luck plays a part as to whether each individual shot goes in or not, but the one part of your post which does raise a valid point is that over the course of, say, a season you tend to be about where you deserve to be.

But Valentines day has been and gone

Sounds like jealousy to me.

What I don't like about any of this is overt snobbery shown by so many Saints fans. The fact that Steve Moran is a truck driver in Hull does not mean that he should be overlooked as a potential investor. I don't think that it is right for a former player, a legend of Southampton to be treated with such disrepect. I also don't like the way that the original poster has been lambasted for suggesting that Moran should be welcomed back. I never thought I would say this, but some Saints fans make me feel ashamed. Maybe if Steve were to fall ill and down on his luck, like Ron Davies, then maybe people would have more time for him?

Help with your Valentines Day messages
Wiltshire Saint replied to Iowsaintsfan's topic in The Muppet Show
Hey sweetie. It's been a while. I have missed our little chats. I felt we had a connection, but this is the way of the internet....people drift apart quicker than real life. I still have a photo of your kitchen saved in "my documents" and often imagine myself cooking you up some scrambled eggs for brekkie after a night of passionate loving. Shall we get it back on? xxxxxxxxx ps f*ck off Deppo -
Do you know Steve Moran?

But Steve Moran may still be interested so let's not write the whole thing off just yet.

Did BWP & McGoldrick attack a Saints fan?
Wiltshire Saint replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
Oh do shut up, you c*ck. Ponty is the only moderator on this site that says what he thinks and most of the time what he says is pretty spot on. -
What are you looking for a room as well? Well, I suppose Foxy's mate can have the bed a few days and you could have it the other days. £23 a night for a bed shared top to tail. £18 for a night spooning.
-
Does he mind sharing a bed with a male, mid 50s?
-
I think that you may have just made a bit of a fool of yourself! May I suggest you read up on some Southampton history? If Steve is prepared to come back and get us out of trouble then I think we should back the fella. Whether he pays £1 or £1billion pounds, the future of the club is at stake.
-
I personally would welcome this. I think that Steve Moran would offer a lot to the club. As a former player he would have Saints at heart and bring back some kind of passion to the club. I didn't realise he was in charge at Wolves though.

I am planning to march away from Boj's house after laying a wreath/turd on his doorstep.

Dear Boss I am saddened to have to inform you of my decision to resign on (insert date). I feel that I am left with no option but to resign because of the alegations made against me by many of the female staff. I cannot continue to work in a place where women are scared of me. I do not wish for his resignation to be seen as an admission of guilt in any way and trust all unresolved issues will be left as they are and not reported to the police. Yours thesaintsfc
