  1. There could be some truth in what you say from Newspaper Articles written in the last couple of weeks. But I think Pardew should continue as results have been pretty good on the whole
  2. Yes I agree it has been a very good season but unfortunately too many draws to make it an excellent Season which is I think is Cortese's Opinion.
  3. Hopefully better than 2 0
  4. I remember seeing A V Bedser in the first first class match I ever saw way back in 1954. The last time I saw him was at the Potters Heron when he was a guest speaker at a Hursley Park CC Dinner. A Great Bowler and a link back to my first cricketing memories of Hutton Compton Evans Bedser May Bailey Laker etc RIP Sir Alec Great Surrey and England Cricketer and Gentleman
  5. I just dont think he is doing an outstanding job but well enough and I am not in anyway suggesting he should be replaced I agree I have enjoyed the season and it has been our most successful season for some time buying the two leading League 1 scorers undoubtedly helps.
  6. Bristol Rovers?
  7. Dont believe anyone can be worse than Steve Baker
  8. Good player though who maybe looking for something new. Anybody else you detest?
  9. I have never seen him play so I dont know what he is like although most who have, have a similar opinion as you. Just interested - He has loads of England Youth caps and was in the Everton Academy from an early age so some people must have thought highly of him at one time or other
  10. What has happened to him as he has not been on the team sheet at Port Vale
  11. Really lots of professional sportsman retire each year but not many turn to drugs. Claus seems to be irresponsible having already been found guilty of drink driving
  12. No I just think he is an OK manager who has done a reasonable job. I think he should be left to get on with the job as manager while others think he wont succeed and he will ultimately fail. But only time will tell but in the meantime there will be a lot of discussion on how he is doing which I think you will have to accept. Because this is a SFC we discuss our manager and not other teams . Our first few games were dreadful we were in the Relegation zone on merit obviously the 10 deduction may have had an impact but we should have done better
  13. Who said anything about Pardew being sacked I said he could have done better in the first part of the season he had a reasonable squad of players most of whom have played a lot of games this season. We got relegated so did Charlton and Norwich but they did not go into melt down
  14. I would like Gary Neville
  15. I am not suggesting sacking Pardew just suggesting that he could have done a little better. Forget the Bollix about where were this time last season once out of Administration and with the players we had our start should have been a lttle better. What Sir Alex has to do with this discussion I have no idea.
  16. Yes because they clearly were not dross but as you say they did not play well .
  17. I know but the players at the start of the season should have done better. That is why Pardew is not a top manager I would have thought and I doubt he will lead us to the Premier League but let see what happens in the next year or so. It is easier spending money and getting in alledgedly better players
  18. I am not suggesting sacking Pardew just suggesting that he could have done a little better. Forget the Bollix about where were this time last season once out of Administration and with the players we had our start should have been a lttle better
  19. I hope he does turn it around but unlike you I am not sure
  20. No but if Leyton Orient score 6 on Monday I would be a little upset
  21. I just think we should possibly have done a little better as we took the lead on a number of occasions without getting the win The Statistics you forgot to comment on Man U 3 draws Saints 13 draws Goals Conceded 27 for Man U 27 Saints 46 Which tells something about our defence which still does not have many clean sheets I know I have only watched a dozen or so games this season but the only clean sheet I saw was against Luton in the Cup
  22. Yes I thought it seemed a strange comment from Pardew
  23. I dont think he was abusing you just telling the truth perhaps;)
  24. Well if it does I hate to think what it will do to poor old Pardew.
  25. I have been watching Saints since August 1962 when my parents returned to Southampton but followed the team before that. I left Southampton in 1964 to go to Uni in London but returned to Southampton regularly to watch them and was a season ticket holder for the a year in the 70s. Watched them at all the London Grounds - Ealing to Crystal Palace is not easy midweek by Public Transport and had an awful experience at Watford in the League Cup when 4 1 up from the first leg we got well and truly thrashed. Now retired and living in Berkshire I follow them on the Interenet and still go to watch a few times a season last game I saw was against Hartlepool I now enjoy watching teams that I have never seen before but I am not sure whether MK Dons counts as I remember going to Plough Lane and seeing Boyer score a goal in a Cup game
