  1. The only reason we are in a poor way financially is because of the way the club was run after Lowe went. With ridiculous wages being paid. Once Lowe has sorted that out we should be able to continue as before. There must be lots of clubs running in a similar manner to us
  2. Of course we can continue the way that we have always done. I dont want tSFC to be owned by a Russian or some dodgy Business Man it is bad enough having Rupert in charge. Look at the fans at both Newcastle anf Liverpool they dont appear to be happy
  3. Svensson is probably not doing it to help SFC he is doing it to help himself. He is just another professional footballer (a pretty good one at that when in his prime) I also dont think it is a good idea playing Svennson on the occasional basis he is either in the team or not he should prove himself in the Reserves before he plays another first team game
  4. I doubt if that will happen those clubs you mentioned have a very small fan base. Luton are in their situation because of financial irregularity.
  5. Lowe Wilde etc may have done well in getting an environment for youngsters to flourish but the team lacks the ability to score goals. This was apparent in the preseason friendlies as well as competive matches this season. We are going to struggle until the team start winning , we may have a good run but the other teams in the division are probably physically stonger. I am not sure the tactics we are employing is leading to this lack of goals as playing just one up at home is rather negative and puts a lot of pressure on the lone striker
  6. Well I would not. I did not start supporting Southampton because I wanted success I just went a long to the Dell to watch the football and enjoy the buzz when we did well. I am quite like that today although I dont see many games I do enjoy the it when we win and the lead up to the game today which we will probably lose.
  7. Obviously you have a strong point but Cork does not look a commanding centre half to me.
  8. No it does not that is short termism we need to build for the future.
  9. Alpine I fully agree with your comments. I dont really want some multi millionaire to buy my football club. I want us to continue the way we have done for the past forty years where I have seen excellent football some world class footballers and have lots of exciting memories. But nowadays lots of fans just want instant success which may come with loads of money.
  10. Yes but he is a Chelsea player I think we should be giving our players all the exposure we can and use Cork when and if our players are found to be out of their depth injured or tired.
  11. Yes I agree but if Lancashire plays Ok he should be left in the team.
  12. Why not James? There does seem to be a fixation to give Cork a game. I think we should be giving our youngsters a chance to develop
  13. Burley was ultimately a failure at both Southampton and Ipswich because of his ability to spend loads of dosh on underachieving players.
  14. Why should Cork start in front of Lancashire? Cork is only a Loanee
  15. Relegation has had a traumatic affect on the club and possibly lots of fans have not moved on yet and fully accept we are below average Championship side and will remain in that state for sometime hopefully
  16. I totally agree but in our relegation season we surely should have beaten Middlesboro Everton Aston Villa with a more astute manager
  17. I know this is not the correct thread to discuss this topic but I thought the problem was there were no suitable candidates who were out of work but it was sometime ago. I did not want Hoddle back but it was probably the right shout at the time.
  18. 47% think he was although I dont Micky Channon was the best although he did miss a penalty on Boxing Day 1973 which started our decline that season
  19. Well I whats your point then. Mine is I would have thought that Hoddle would have done a better job than Sturrock Wigley and Redknapp
  20. But he did very well for us at the Dell
  21. Make it two I thought Svensson was poor against Blackpool especially in the second half. Surely he must have been injured he must have played better against Cardiff and Birmingham
  22. Surely he could have done better than Sturrock Wigley and Redknapp and organised our defence.
  23. Yes I had someone like that on another site never mind. Do you feel any better about the CB situation . I agree not the best of situations but mangeable. But we can only hope for the best but I do fear the worst nothing has gone right on a regular basis at SFC for near five years.
  24. What about Chivers Date of birth 27 April 1945 (1945-04-27) (age 63) Place of birth Southampton, England A true Sotonian like me
  25. I dont understand what you are complaining about now please can you explain
