  1. And, to be fair, it took about five minutes on here for him to be outed as a tyre-kicker. You boys just need to get your eye in. In fact, we should offer our consultancy services to Mr Android. Just send us details of any prospective buyers and for £10k we will put them through the SWF T-K test, a much more thorough and efficient test than FPP.
  2. Quote from a Leeds fan. How the mighty have fallen!: the truth is we can’t compete with the likes of Southampton who have gone out & spent £1m + on individual players. Regarding Barnard, we were never in the running when Southampton entered the race, they can pay higher wages, it’s a great stadium, they’ve got billionaire owners & Hampshire’s a fantastic part of the world. We just don’t have the same pull we used to have. Reply
  3. Jaidi is immense in every sense. As some-one behind us said - the only way they'll get round him is if they build a by-pass....
  4. Best not look too closely - I noticed yesterday that they have crept up to the edge of the play-offs....
  5. It's like the Scots hate the English much more than vice versa. It is an inferiority/chip on the shoulder thing. We can't help looking down slightly patronisingly at them, as they look up at us full of righteous hurt and rage. It's just how it is and seven years of being in the ascendancy won't change that any more than it did for the Scots when they got to a world cup or two.
  6. It hurt, I can't deny it, but not as much as I expected. I think we were all drained a bit from the emotion of the Tuesady night success against MK Dons and getting to Wembley. Saturday mattered just a little less because of that. Also I thought our lads gave it a good go, which is all you can ask of them. It was only afterwards, thinking of the goal-scorers, that I felt angry that you were playing players you should not have been allowed to use - especially that Quincy fellow - and that you had yet again got away with cheating, bringing in a ringer to gain an unfair advantage.
  7. I think you'll find there is becaue, by definition, the more defending you do ie tackling etc the more likely you are to concede free kicks
  8. Another skate classic from 606. Portsea island seems strangely detached from the outside world doesn't. The natives only have a hazy, distorted view of anything that happens beyond the end of the A2030 comment by PFCSCC (U13923047) posted 2 Hours Ago Surley if we were to be deducted, they would have been by now. It took Crystal Palace about 30 secs for theirs to go.
  9. Stats from the BBC Possession Southampton 55% Leeds United 45% Attempts on target Southampton 5 Leeds United 1 Attempts off target Southampton 8 Leeds United 5 Corners Southampton 5 Leeds United 1 Fouls Southampton 16 Leeds Utd 9 Says it all about the tw*t in the black (or was it green). How can a team who has almost all the chances, corners and most of the possession commit twice the number of fouls that the team doing most of the defending did. Stats don't lie. Shocking ref did his best to wreck it, but we were immense today throughout. In some ways today was even better than Huddersfield because we never gave them a sniff and 'won-ugly.' And even at 1-0 up I never felt we'd lose it - not something I feel very often. Jaidi & Fonte were superb, but they all contributed today. And watching Lallana & Puncheon is a delight, both such skilful, imaginative players. How the hell could Plymouth let him go off on loan and then sell him - rocks for brains down that way, I reckon.
  10. That is the big difference between the PL and the other divisions & why they were so very desperate to gamble everything on staying there. The PL is like a Wild West gold-rush town, anything goes, no questions asked, as long as you've got money to burn. The FL is a little more conservative and expects rules to be upheld. And as long as that continues to be the case their long slow death will continue.
  11. The Sun don't seem to like him much, do they?
  12. I remember that Lens (I think) didn't want Dindane back at Xmas unless they could sell him because they had loaned him to Poopey in the first place because they couldn't continue to fund his wages. (Neither could Poopey of course, but that never seems to worry them)
  13. Sacked more like. ESPN has long been his mouthpiece so it's his last chance to big himself up
  14. I know we are on page 416 & we may have peaked a little prematurely, but this thread is going to run & run & run. Page 500 will come & go in a flash. By page 1000 we might just be getting to the bottom of the murky fishtank of secrets, deceptions, lies & Storries. The good news is that they are just about down & at the start I would have settled for that alone. They still have mind-boggling debts & an ownership structure that will make it all but impossible to secure a sensible new owner. The authorities are onto them and won't go away, meaning that there is no chance of a Gaydy/Chainrai stitch up & resurrection. And our fun & their misery could last for years. So, (though I do understand the sentiments of the nickh tendency) keep the faith.
  15. In some ways you could actually look at Chainrai being passed as a secure creditor as good news. HMRC are now the biggest unsecured creditor by a mile making a CVA less likely, making survival but a slow lingering death more likely. What will give you more pleasure next season - seeing a Championship score all over SSN of Poopey 0 S****horpe Utd 3 or looking in the Echo for AFC Poopey 5 Bashley 0? I know which I'd prefer
  16. He just says out loud what all of us wake up in a cold sweat over. Surely they couldn't....... could they?
  17. On the subject of CVAs though - we all pre-suppose that all other creditors except HMRC will accept it. There may well be quite a few other creditors not happy to take a penny or two in the pound, which is all they are likely to get, particularly if anyone with links to Gaydamak/BVI etc etc appears as the buyer.
  18. I think you'll find it was nearer 300 than 600 (the rest being matchday stewards, ballboys etc). It is just conceivable that Storrie exaggerated the numbers in a previous attempt to hget sympathy
  19. I don't want to be a killjoy but I don't think it is confirmed for Monday - but 'the earliest convenient date' after Monday. We could have days or weeks more conjecture yet
  20. Skategoat, surely. (btw can any of our talented artists come up with a suitable image?)
  21. That Vogon-faced tw*t Grant is really starting to hack me off: "I hope we will not be docked the points. I hope football decisions will be made on the pitch. When you punish something you punish the people who did something wrong. You need to punish the right people." Is he a) stupid b) pandering to his paymasters or c) as corrupted as the rest of them? Last week they went to Burnley, a similar sized provincial club and won, BUT with a squad in which most were on wages that were 2 or 3 times the salary cap Burnley imposed on themselves to remain solvent. (One of the stumbling blocks in the Nugent saga was Burnley's top earner was on £16k/week, Nugent was reputedly on £40k/week). Pompey playing players they cannot afford to pay is like a local league team bringing in a couple of ringers for the promise of a brown envelope or two. And there is a word for that -CHEATING
  22. Part of a quote from the Mirror re Piquionne: McLeish will make a second attempt to land the Frenchman in the summer after failing to get him in the last window because Lyon and Pompey cold not agree on ending his season-long loan. That is what p*sses me off. If they had been sincere about cutting costs they would have agreed anything to take him off the books, not held out for silly money so that they could keep him.
  23. I actually think the administrator bit is quite important in all this. Mr Android clearly seems to have been selected by Chainrai (& whoever stands behind him) and wouldn't it be an amazing co-incidence if this South African consortium, headed by the allegedly wealthy but never seen Botha van Mirage, turned out to have a registered office in the British Virgin Islands. Somebody truly independent would be a little less willing to rush the deal through on the nod to the best advantage of those with a vested interest but at the expense of the creditors and taxpayers. And a lot will still depend on how rigorously (or not) the PL enforces its FPP test on any new owners. (And how better to cloud the issue than a big multinational consortium.)
  24. You can just effing see it, cant you - Bill Gates's mate rises from his sick-bed and hear's about plucky little Poopey with the bestest fans in the world conquering adversity with their squad of brave amateurs and underpaid heroes and that yacht sails into Port Solent on Friday. They get the admin overturned because they were never in it, due to a technicality spotted by HMRC, they win the cup, stay up and move into their new toilet-bowl stadium. (I think that blow to the head yesterday affected me more than I thought.... I'm just going out for a little fresh air.)
  25. What do you reckon on a day like this? Just want to close my eyes and make it all go away.
