Agree, Can see quite a few of our once friendly neighbours turning up to gloat about the Prem/Championship divide. If I am correct the last time we played B'mouth in a pre season friendly (At Dean Court|) Graziano Pelle may his debut and a young Jack Stephens played in mid field. 1-1 draw I think. Jack could return as a B'mouth player, I guess

Yes it is embarrassing. Martha Reeves was on Jools Holland a year or so back and she was dreadful. Lionel Ritchie is another one doing the rounds who has lost the edge. However I saw 80 year oid George Benson recently and he was top class.

I was there that day too.

Looking at the fixtures makes me realise it would be easy to return to the Prem but perhaps I have been beaten down by last season or two of despair and last seasons abject performances against lower league sides

No mention about the Park & Ride at Nursling . Presume this wasnt used much.

Alex, Out of interest who do you reckon was responsible for the Salisbury and Litvinenko poisonings?

Just received another survey presumably from the Marketing Dept at St Marys. Normally they ask questions about the match day experience and no notice is taken of my regular input re the volume level and choice of music prior to KO. This time it focusses on brand awareness etc> Anyone else received one?

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Boris has his hairdresser on the Honours List (an OBE) I am sure she deserves it. Wonder if Jennifer Acuri is also on the list? -

I wonder if we will get to know who was rejected from Boris's list. I reckon one may have been Jennifer Arcuri and another Peppa Pig!! -
Tall Paul must have something about him to score 20+ goals in Belgium. For the life of me I have yet to see any attributes which indicate he could replicate this in the Championship.

Looks like Mad Nad has been given the Nod from her super hero BOJO and has given up her constituency ahead of an expected Peerage. Her mid Bedfordshire seat has a majority of around 24,000 so it will be interesting to see if her replacement manages the same sort of figure. Of course if he/she/etc doesnt then I am sure Mad Nad will tell everyone what a popular MP she was overlooking the time she has been away from her duities on TV programmes, writing pretty awful books and becoming a GB radio host. I am currently halfway through 'Johnson at No 10 = the Inside Story' Not much good news in it for a Boris fan to absorb and looking forward to reading about his relationship with Ms Dorries later in the book. -
I was joking but mainly referring to the music volume which means it is nigh on impossible to have a conversation before Kick Off especially as I get there 30 mins before the start. I have also suggested whoever chooses the music should have a look at the age profile as there are a few longstanding supporters like me have to suffer enough in respect of the dross on the pitch without having to put up with some of the modern repetitive stuff at max volume which seems to be de rigeur lately. Bring back the Albion Band I say!!!

I mention that every time I receive a 'Customer' survey from the club

Boris lost his original phone overside from a ferry when he was chatting up Jamie Vardy's wife or agent!! -
What year was this? In the 1960's the Saints used to hold public trials which anyone could attend. The one I went to was held at the Victory Transport ground at Rownhams where the Saints Nursery team CPC? used to play. We all got 15-30mins to display our 'talents' and a few of us got signed up to play in the Saints 'A' team (Hampshire One League at the time) or Saints 'B' (Hants League 3) Home games were played at the BTC ground in Stoneham Lane. I also played with Bobby Stokes, Roy Hambly, George Rodgers and a couple of other lads from Pompey.

Whenever I speak to the few hardline Brexiteers I come across, there is very little recognition that they may have been duped by Bumbling Boris and his ERG mates. I was a Remainer but hoped my decision to vote accordingly was misguided and there was indeed a golden future awaiting us outside of the EU. As Diana Ross sang ..I'm Still Waiting'........

Will season ticket prices be released now and will you renew?
spyinthesky replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
My renew price was £499 plus £1.50 Booking Fee (with free gift) or £1.50 Booking Fee (with no free gift) Go figure!! -
Wonder if Genk would have cruised to the title with our 'outstanding' signing Tall Paul playing for them??
-
Didnt get many minutes in the England U20 squad during their World Cup campaign in Argentina. (Lost 2-1 to Italy in the QF) Hopefully he will contribute more to the team in the Championship next season.

Indeed. Ironically enough, the only centre half I reckon played Big Ron out of a game was Billy Baxter of Ipswich Town and he was a lot shorter than Ron but he had a very impressive leap to head high balls,

I was in B&Q today and heard the song 'Sha La La La Lee' by the Small Faces and this remined me of the terrace chant 'Sha La La La La...Ron Davies' It brought a smile to my face.

He has done very well since leaving on a free as a youngster without one appearance in the First Team and is very well regarded by Hull City supporters. There is a piece in the Hull Daily Mail which gives an insight to his time at SMS and how much he is looking to coming back for a game next season. He is quite positive about his time here.
-
I was a great fan of Ron Davies but to put things in perspective most centre halves were 6' tall not the 6'4"+ players of today. That's not to say that Ron's leaping prowess would have not caused them problems. I also think that Terry Paine's crossing ability was far superior than the current squad could provide (JWP apart (perhaps)

Sort of agree with you but Watford went down and kept hold off one or two decent forwards but the team as a whole didnt pull up any trees. Unfortunately there needs to be a bit of bulk and grit throughout the team in the Championship to compete successfully.
