  1. 8-2 White sox. So after 162 games it comes down to a one game playoff! :smt107
  2. Didn't realise they did that but then again that is tax payers money so its budgeted for to a certain degree, plus they don't have to pay it back like a loan. The banks should have known what they were letting themselves in for. They dish it out like sweets hoping to gain on the interest payments. They don't want you to pay your credit card bill in full every month. Egg cancelled thousands of people's cards, the ones who paid there's off each month. The thing is banks borrow from each other so if one goes down it continues to the next like a domino effect. Prices go up, people stop spending and so it continues, until like now the banking world goes into melt down!
  3. Considering the Americans are the main cause of the financial crisis eg. by giving mortgages to out of work people ffs! They should take responsibilty, IMO.
  4. Good luck, I don't care much for the whitesox!
  5. So you've proved my point then? Smallest ground in the prem and you can't sell out despite the previous season being your best in 50 years. I'm sure you get the numbers for Man U and Chelsea, but getting a full house for the likes of 'Boro shouldn't be to hard considering the size of your "stadium".
  6. I just hope the Phillies don't implode in the first round of the playoffs like they did last year. All that hard work in turning a 7 game deficit with 17 games left to win the division on the last day(thanks Mets!!) and we get tonked 3 games to 0 by the Rockies!! I can actually see it being an all LA final which would be interesting. With the Angels just edging it!
  7. xhamster is better than youporn, IMO.
  8. I saw a company van today for a logistics company called PURVERS!
  9. They play 162 games in a season!! That's one hell of a season ticket!!
  10. Just Jozef Fritzl and his immediate family. About the 2,000 mark I'd guess! Seriously though the reason its so cheap is they don't have ageing ex Premiership "Stars" eg Robbie Savage, so they don't have high wage bills that filters down the fans.
  11. Perhaps many moons ago they did brew and sell their own beer before they were gobbled up by the big breweries? Anyway I thought the Bitterne one was called the Happy Cheese or something like that now?
  12. Well it is now you've posted this. At least the previous poster did actually mention the sport, if you've got no comment about Baseball then don't bother posting on a thread about it!!
  13. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/article34783.ece
  14. ...appoint a interim manager who still has a touchline ban hanging over him. lol! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/7639582.stm
  15. Yeah it is quite slow, but no worse than Cricket! American stadiums put ours to shame, I mean the legroom is amazing, that new one in Minnesota has a 55,000ish capacity yet is as big as the new Wembley!! Probably cost less too! The food is excellent with a lot of variety and at very good prices. Not the re-heated cack we get served up!
  16. Yeah but I've got the feeling that this is one story that is pretty close to the mark. Gayskidmark isn't a billionairre and its not like they can get 40,000 crowds is it? They still struggle to sell-out games even though they've just had their best season in 50 years. He probably hasn't actually given the club a penny he's probably loaned from banks and acted as guarantor. Now the banks are saying "no-more" due to the global financial crisis he's worried he will have to actually give the club some money! Now he's looking for someone to buy the club for a little more than what he paid for it and who are willing to take on the debts. The same thing is happening at Chelsea, Abramovich has borrowed the £600million or so Chelsea have spent on players and if he gets bored and leaves he will have to pay that and the club has only a few months to pay him back!
  17. Started watching Patriot Games on UKTV Gold last night whilst waiting for MOTD to start. Forgot what a crap film it was. I mean the yanks really did their research on Britain on this one didn't they? Just after the shootout at the start when the police turn up, you can hear whistles! Police whistles that is!! So in 1993 our Police were still using whistles were they?? Later on when Sean Bean's charachter is being transported from London to a Prison on the Isle of Wight, his escape happens in Kent, yes Kent!! Who travels from London to IOW via Kent ffs? Of course there is a chance that some of the American audience have actually heard of Kent eh? Utter sheeet!!
  18. Yesterday Arsenal got a lesson in how to score IMO. Giovanni's goal was excellent I'm sick of Arsenals "Look how cute and sexy our football is as we try and pass the ball into the back of the net" attitude. How many times did they get into a scoring position just to try and pass to someone else. Just shoot ffs!! Unfortunately Saints seem to be trying to do the same! Still I bet Arsenal were the best footballing side that Hull have beaten so far this season!
  19. LOL! Ah yes but don't forget they've got three parties interested in them and one is worth billions!!! LOL! I wondered why we hadn't seen much of PES and Corp whore lately.
  20. Well done to the Philadelphia Phillies, National League East division champions for the second year in a row! Two in a row, whatever next a world series perhaps?? I can only dream!! \\:D/ No NY Yankees in the playoffs for the first time since 1993! Hope the Mets fail to make it as well! As for the World Series its a tough one to call, would love the Phillies to be there but can't see it, the Cubs are looking very good. The American League is even tougher to call with Boston, LA Angels and Tampa Bay capable of getting there. Its certainly going to be a interesting October as well as a nailbiting one!!
  21. Bet they didn't put money on it though!
  22. Yep! Finished 4th bottom the season before last!
  23. Arsenal 1 Hull City 2 :smt119 Only Arsenals 2nd home loss in 60 games!!!
  24. That's a myth!! It was actually called the Mary Celeste! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Celeste
