I didn't think much of Santa Cruz. A concrete sprawl is an apt description. The famous market is interesting, but i have to say the site of puppies in cages appalled me. Go further north into the Anaga mountains and it's a nice drive. Purto De La Cruz is probably the best resort (if a little too full of geriatrics).
