  1. But the fact is Charlie that the club has destroyed itself, bad management, bad football, bad decisions and even some bad fans. I just don't see that we should expect former players to give us a hand up. Nor fans because there is no guarantee whatsoever that the donations will fund the continuity of the club. Why should Wayne Bridge and James Beattie who played valiantly for a long time for less than average Premiership salaries fund the continued existence of wasters like Euell??? Who earns more for doing absolutely f*ck all than they ever did for providing great football for the fans.
  2. Perhaps everybody should chip in and buy her a new Bentley just to cheer her up.
  3. Who will cut us off if we don't pay I presume, should give us Electricity for free and settle for shirt sponsorship or something.
  4. Correct because you don't know where it will end up or if it will have any effect whatsoever. It's too late now, your money will be gobbled up by vultures. The club owes money, whatever you give will go towards paying the people it's owed to.
  5. why should they? sorry I don't get all this stuff. If any of my old employers were in the deep dubbin I doubt that I'd dob them money. We made 7 million £ out of Wayne Bridge, 6 million out of James Beattie, that money has been thrown down the drain of hiring mediocre players, why should the lads give us money? Did they ask the fans not to turn up this season ? did they f*ck.
  6. Indeed it will, the money just doesn't go round like it used to. Why spend 5 million on a CCC player when you can get a 15 year old from Portugal for a third of that. How many CCC to Premiership transfers have there been this season? genuine question, not loaded.
  7. Yes but Hull is out of the way and geographically isolated,Darlington must be about 25 miles from Newcastle,Sunderland and Middlesborough . Building a 25K seater stadium for an urban population of about 97K with 3 premiership clubs in easy access distance is just plain cranky.
  8. We're not mathematically down yet so they haven't decided.More rope is required. Depends if we've paid Bournemouth and Notts county what we owe yet, doubt it myself, unless the FL have docked that from our TV money as suggested.
  9. Given that we did 7 years at the City's Grammar schools those days... Martin Chivers is the oldest. And I was in the 1st form then, because I started a year early, aged 10
  10. We are longstanding loyal fans who actually watched Saints when they were atrocious and then again when they were really good. We are the been there, done that of Saints supporting. Before it was all about money and stars and recruiting 11 year olds from the slums of Lagos, I even went to school with at least 5 Saints players, who could say that now?.
  11. I see Darlington have had to extend the offer period, nul prosequi apparently. Looks bad for them, 25K ground as well, tinpot club with a big ground, doesn't make much sense really.
  12. Nah, it was a sort of fruit machine ticket made of coloured thick paper that the supporters club sold to help the club back in the 70's. I used to sell them, Dart's Night at the BP was a real money spinner for the club. Probably cost 10p but I couldn't be sure on that. If you got 3 Oranges you made quite a bit I think. But I do remember Golden Goal, thought they only sold them at the ground though.
  13. Remember those Fruit Machine tickets made out of thin cardboard??
  14. Perhaps he just doesn't want to throw in money that will eventually end up in the pocket of some accountant or other or even worse Barclay's Bank. I'd want a guarantee that not one bent penny of my money went to Barclay's Bank. ...or Rudi Skacel
  15. But then they should have done that all season shouldn't they, instead of moaning and whining about this chairman or that coach or no star players. Only 15K or so people in Greater Southampton actually give toss about professional football, the rest are plastics.
  16. Who could honestly afford to throw good money after bad like that. Ridiculous suggestion really. SFC had money, they wasted it on garbage and now we have to stump up our hard-earned to save them...bollix. Let the administrators sort it out, they're getting paid for that.
  17. See, told you Swansea would bullsh*t over Dyer. They did in January as well, offered about 250K probably in installments with tack ons. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4305678.Saints_will_not_sell_Dyer_on_the_cheap/
  18. To be honest Harry it doesn't amaze me at all. People turned out for the Charlton game and we were rubbish in it's purest state. Why would they pay £24 quid for another dose of the same. The team should be ashamed of themselves for that performance,27K+ in the stadium and not one of them turned up for a vital match. Why should the fans bother any more?
  19. What was harsh? Could have been any of the young players really. Lowe was looking for another Walcott type deal to get us out of trouble like he always had in the past. It just went tits up because no-one had the quality to fetch 12 million after 20 or so CCC games. Any of them might have been ear marked for the role but the ploy was obvious.Just that the new batch haven't been formed by Georges Prost's special brand of skill that's all. Lyon have a lad called Karim Benzema, probably worth 30 million at 21. The master's magic is still working, but elsewhere.
  20. Nah but you've got to look at by who creates the debts. In our case it's absurd salaries to crap players, hence -10 points.
  21. Our players are worth a big, fat, round zero because we can't (at the time of writing) afford to keep them. We have zero money and big wage bill to pay in 7 days time.
  22. Burnley's motivation will be too intense for us I'm afraid. They're not certain of their play off place yet. Their game against Sheff U is no gimme and then Swansea will be breathing down their necks. I don't see us getting any more points t all. I was overoptimistic, I thought we'd thump Charlton and be OK, that day changed my whole opinion.
  23. do people still buy those gas guzzling lumps of sh*t then?
  24. Correct, a big club could find a few quid to get them out of hock at the bank.
  25. How many more times does it need pointing out that John,BWP,Skacel and Davies are soon out of contract and no transfer fee will be obtained for them unless they sign new contracts just to give us a helping hand.
