  1. We got a tribunal 650K for best and 500K for Blackstock, roughly twice what we paid for them. I think, on reflection, that the Deano and Walcott affairs went to Rupert's head, he thought you could sell any old rubbish for silly money, hence the youth policy this season. Give Gobern a couple of games and con some bunch of mugs for 4 million for him must have been the theory of the affair.
  2. are you sure Skacel is out of contract? I don't think he is.
  3. You're joking I hope. We wouldn't raise as much as we owe Barclay's if we sold the whole squad.
  4. But where we're going to get the money to build a team good enough to get back into the CCC from is what counts. Upwards is not an option without money and we don't have any nor any means of obtaining any.Bloke at Peterborough ploughed in 8 million didn't he ? We don't have that sort of money nor the means to get it. That's what I was saying, upwards isn't an option until we find sufficient revenues.
  5. I expect he'll go to Lyon in the off season anyway.
  6. That would be Georges Prost then, perhaps he thought he was sending Morgan into the club he left with the type of players he produced at the Acad like Bale, Walcott,Best and Baird. Everything has gone tits up since Georges Prost left.
  7. You sound very sure OSM, have you checked. We have kept going these last 10 years or so by selling players for big sums and buying lesser players to fill in. As we now have no-one left who will command a big sum we'll be reliant on the "academy" and for the crap it's turned out lately I wish I could be as sure as you. You must ask yourselves: Where would we be without the 50 or so million that we've received in transfer fees? I mean we would still have the players but could we have afforded to pay them. Walcott 10 million + Jones 5 million Bale 7 million Beattie 6 million Baird 3 million Bridge 7 million Deano 8 million Crouch 5 million profit. plus all the other odd and ends, and yet our record transfers are Delap 4 million and JokeDelgado 3 million. I put it to you that SFC cannot survive without major players sales and that that has been the situation these last 10 years. Why? because we don't generate enough revenue for our costs, but why I have absolutely no idea. Probably paying off managers all the time doesn't help.
  8. At least Mrs WS seems to have summed up the situation then.
  9. still if he'd still been here when JP was gone Wotte would have drawn the benefit wouldn't he.We had a 3 match run when everything looked rosier, then something went wrong again suddenly, because we missed acouple of sitters through Surman and Euell, John might have put one away and things would have been different.
  10. But Andy we are down, we were when we lost at home to Charlton, all the rest is jingoistic tub thumping to get arses on seats at SMS so that the admins and Barclays can get their cash.
  11. And since then we've reduced our playing staff by a fair few players. I mean last season we escaped relegation by a point or so and then we cut back on players, some of who were useful from time to time, like Vignal and Jermaine Wright, with John at least scoring a few goals.Doubt if Pearson would have made any difference really, only the 16 players on the match sheet really influence the result. I mean look at Arsenal yesterday, there were 4 dump players who dragged the collective down to their level. The keeper, AbuDhabi (or whatever his name is),Silvestre and Denillson. If those 4 players had be replaced by their usual counterparts the result would have been completely different. At the end of the day a club is only as good as it's players, there are astute managers around but with crap players they won't work miracles. I believe if we'd got shot of Skacel we might have been able to keep Stern John, might have made all the difference.
  12. maybe he is simply disillusioned with his team-mates. Wouldn't be the first at SFC.
  13. Why does the BBC league table show us with a 3 point deduction?? Did we get one already.
  14. Yeah yeah yeah, all that old hat about showing potential buyers and all. The club needs a decent gate to survive, nothing to do with potential buyers. Why if no-one shows up Barclay's Bank might lose their cash and the administrators would have to wait for their money....bring it on.
  15. Put me down for 3 out of 4 then, I can't be positive about the crock of sh*it we have playing for us...sorry
  16. Our main problem is disposing of Skacel,Rasiak and Saganowski and Euell (but he's out of contract) before the weight of their salary mass drags us down again. Plus if BWP is still here next season, well we'll go straight down again and again and again till he's gone. When I saw his name on the team sheet today I knew we'd lose. A complete and utter waste of space.
  17. As they say you can't polish turd
  18. Amen. Finally someone else has realised that our problem lies entirely with the players, as it did when we got relegated from the Prem, something must hang about in the dressing room at SMS which turns decent players into full blown crap. Harry Redknapp is a good manager, what he's done at Skate and Spurs proves that, the fault is with the players and only with the players. I work with a lot of extremely bright people, who get far less than even the young players at SMS, but if my guys and gals performed like them Europe would be in serious shït. They don't need motivating by a "manager" or board of directors, they know what has to be done and do it.
  19. Nah, Charlton are a bigger club than us cos they can find money to stop them going into administration. A club is only as big as it's bank account nowadays and ours is microscopic.
  20. trouble is worse ****e we're in the more chance we have of getting some of the old brigade back with their 30 bobs and pinchpenny schemes. No one is going to ante up serious swans for us you know and that means a knocked together "consortium" of old lags
  21. You'll have the Child Protection League onto you in a flash saying you suggested giving Vindaloos to babies, best to keep them on Madras until they're about 2.
  22. You've got to give it up St Bert, no use prolonging the misery, we were down when we lost against Charlton anyway, accept it and move on...if there's anywhere to move on to.
