  1. He'd have probably got a better price from Michael Jackson.
  2. I had a 114 GSI Baccara for a while, lovely little car, mrs pranged it when the kids were knocking 3 bales of shîte out of each other in the back. First car Austin A35, powder green, called Flossy.
  3. Plus there tend to be some shocking batting totals early in the season, few players get 1000 runs by the end of May nowadays.Must be because all the test batsmen are still on international breaks or something.
  4. Sold to the milkman it would seem.
  5. Milkmen don't give 3 months tick. 2 weeks and you get no milk, 3 weeks and they pour a pint of sour gold top through the letter box.
  6. The Duke of Boot was quite an orator apparently.
  7. ah right that one. It has been a damned nice thing - the nearest run thing you ever saw in your life, by God!
  8. Nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won Standard issue for all 4th formers in my day.Mind you meejah studies hadn't been invented to infest the school cursus then.
  9. there is the nuance, company not club.
  10. We won't get a full house against Burnley, not without dropping the ticket prices.
  11. desperately close to what?? Southampton FC in admin?, a rose by any other name.
  12. Perhaps it's not exactly Southampton Football Club Ltd (the new one) perhaps there's a nuance somewhere. Unless of course it's been established outside the UK
  13. To quote Souness, who in football has a name like Rufus. Wasn't there already a Southampton Football Club Ltd ?
  14. Which would tend to reinforce my theory that Barclay's wouldn't let us have any additional leeway whatsoever without guaranteed revenues in exchange.
  15. I thought it strange at the time, then again we have solar panels in our roof so I just supposed that the scanner had some sort of useful role in the matter. Did passport photos of passing sparrows or something.
  16. Who's talking about roof space, roof space was never mentioned, the scanner is in the roof, ie actually part of the structure protecting the erection from the infiltration of the elements.
  17. It's not in the loft, it's in the roof.
  18. would that be David Jones, Ken Tointon, or the tea lady??
  19. I appreciate your realism and what you're trying to do, I'm just afraid that you've been led up the garden path and the end result would be realistically somewhere in the region of 150K and all your work and effort will to be no avail and you'll be made to look like a bit of an idiot.I notice that it's a very British trait these days, talk about money and how much you have and how much you'll put up but when it comes to anteing up it's all just talk.
  20. This is right, there is a vast gulf between the "plastic pledge poll" on which the decision to get involved was made and the real nitty gritty prepare to ante up pledge site. I'm afraid that Derry has been led down the garden path by a lot of wags with no idea of donating real money.
  21. with some sort of trail back to the person doing the clicking ? Can you identify the people who have "pledged" more than 5K? Kids click on anything you know.
  22. Well what about if we couldn't afford to pay stewards, police, bar suppliers, programme printers and all that sort of stuff. If we owe the Police Dept money and they aren't willing to give us any more tick we couldn't get the match policed and it might not be allowed to proceed.
  23. Not really, doubt that it will be more than 300K or so.
  24. Sounds like the kind of wheeze that got AIG into so much trouble. All they do is insure credit deals, like the one outlined above.
  25. There are obviously buyers, probably aren't willing to part with enough cash to make their "potential" of any great interest to the creditors.
