But what difference did the public bollicking actually make?? Zero, Zilch, they still lost 5-1. Hull have been punching above their weight, riding an unknown system. They'll be lucky to escape relegation. Brown is a zero who got lucky.
-
But no-one actually bought or sold any so it's totally academic.
-
But we don't get all of the money, we get 45% same as Utd, the rest goes into the FA pool. So in fact the extra spectators above our usual league attendance are just contributing to the FA and Man U

What evidence have you seen of jans management skills?

Which is probably why he's head coach and not manager. -
Makes a change from Cold Turkey anyway.

What we need is a central defender. Too many goals from set pieces. Don't know how it panned out today but I wouldn't mind wagering it was something to do with Perry being 2ft 3 and 36 years old.

And like all addictions it costs a lot of money and eventually does your head in.

Jest me not kind sir.

Burnley will win that, much too good for Doncaster. Probably have only just turned up,

Saints v Reading 1st Half & Half Time Thread
Window Cleaner replied to Um Bongo's topic in The Saints
Same as always, plenty of possession but no goals-that's us. Reading are doing a lot of fouling but then they will invariably score and it will be all over; If we learn to score we will be :eek:world beaters. -
I am a veritable fountain of obscure knowledge.

£12.50 eh, won't get even a ropey prostitute for that,no worries, plenty of teenage slappers to be had for the price of a couple of drinks in most downtown bars though. If not try Portsmouth.
-
Are you sure about that?? I thought most football season tickets are stated to be non-refundable under normal circumstances (there are special cases, admin etc where you're considered as a creditor for the rest of the ticket)
-
I think it failed because all those who like to talk about share collectives don't have any money. That's why they like the idea of a lot of other people doing the hatchet work for them.

So now Lowe says we couldn't afford Pearson!!!!!!!!

With the crowds were getting I doubt it matters which League we're in; 15K is a joke for a city of 400K people.Southampton people don't give a toss about Saints anyway.Unemployment and recession will bite the UK hard for another couple of years. 500,000 households are more than 3 months behind with their mortgage already.Football is a luxury now, Southampton has no factories to speak of, it's a nation of shopkeepers and London commuters.. -

you do wonder if jan is just taking the flack for a failure of a first half of the season and then Wotte will take over afterwards. -
He'll need to score at least 10 per game if our centre back pairing is Lancashire and Perry. Scoring is a problem for us, conceding is an even bigger one; Look at our results over the last 5 or 6 years, 1-0 at home and 0-0 away was our stock in trade for points gathering. Our problem is the defence, we can't score and we'll almost always concede, a recipe for disaster if I ever saw one.

But quoting an unverified source is the same as saying it yourself. People make stuff up to suit their point of view, always have, always will. -
We're not exactly hyper accountable now are we. Plus they'd have to find all those 'dormant' shareholders to vote on it wouldn't they.I don't expect that to happen frankly, it would be too revealing for some; Status quo.
-
I don't see what difference it makes to be honest. The club belongs to a certain number of people. If we delist it will still belong to the same people-unless we go into administration, which we probably won't.
-
Saints had shares before we were a PLC you know. That's how Mr Corbett got his PLC shares, he bought the amount correspondent to the old Ltd company shares. Askham,McMenemy,Everett,Wiseman etc,Bates family-all shareholders in the old Southampton Football Club Ltd.
-
Maybe, but I still don't see what difference it would make whether they play today or not. Surely Mr Chorley threw enough at him yto pay a couple of Lowian win bonuses. Perhaps there has been dissent in the ranks.

What all of them? Perhaps, who knows.
