  1. Right, bad memory again, they did give us money though?
  2. But I ask again, what certainty have you that Rasiak is actually going to leave? Nothing seems to be happening, we need to offload high earners, everybody knows that and I can't see anybody actually paying money for them now when it 15 days time they might get them on loan with us chipping in a wee bit on the salary make-up.Remember Dan Petrescu, Spurs actually gave us money to take him off their hands, true we did rip them off for Deano as well.
  3. nn Given our last season's managers' ineptitude with both substitutions and tactics it would certainly have been a boon for us if they'd have been banned last season.I quite liked football with just one substitute, evened things up quite a bit.Can you imagine how Man U and Chelsea would get on with just 12 man match squads, there'd certainly be a lot more top players (on reduced pay) to go round.
  4. Saga is out on loan until december as far a I know, think he played in the Champions League qualifiers last Wednesday, his team won 2-0 I believe. Maybe he's doing what HE wanted and not what really suited us.I certainly don't know and I doubt that any of you do.
  5. One handed tit juggling is certainly a good start.
  6. Is this Rasiak to Watford thing actually happening or is it just the result of speculation and assumption? Never know on Fridays do you.
  7. It seems to me that all the high earners are "for sale" but some are more for sale than others. Sort of "fairplay all round but we know who we really want to leave" stunt.
  8. Agreed, but did some-one not tell us that according to a conversation between he (or his cleaning lady or taxi-driver) and Jan and Himself,Jan said he(Skacel) will play for us?
  9. I expect to see Davies and Skacel coming back into the side, possibly at right and left back. Who needs loans ?. If Surman and James make the grade in those positions all well and good, Davies will either play centre back or defensive midfield.Skacel will go forward into midfield. Jan has said he will play when his "head" (I suppose he means attitude) is right.
  10. They will probably amaze you with their knowledge and inform you that our D-Line looks about Little League size.
  11. This is the right way, we've a much vaunted academy that has seemingly some notion of forming home grown players, look at all those who've had a first team chance-all gone for greener pastures for some decent money. Why "borrow" other peoples youngsters-adding to your wage bill-and let your own rot in the reserves or go out on loan to Yeovil and Bournemouth?
  12. Didn't suggest it was risky Alpine, suggested it was a toughish task for the lad particularily due to the change of style in the football. He'll do just great but the first ten games or so might be a bit saw edged.
  13. Two full games in 4 days could be quite a task for an 18 year old adjusting to a different type of football though.
  14. Certainly were, you couldn't have possibly had time for a **** before kick off and probably needed to go after about 20 minutes thus disrupting the game or everybody in the vicinity. We used to leave the BP Hotel at 2.31prompt, run down to the bus stop, jump on the number 14 as it pulled up,off at Stag Gates, yomp down to the Milton, pay at the gate, quick ****,push our way into the mass behind the goal about half way up and bingo -kick off.
  15. It's "rising to 1.5 million Euros" as far as I know. Probably a lot on international appearances needed to reach that figure. Georges Prost told us to sign him and we did, might never have strayed from the straight and narrow if Prost was still here, he had a way of "pistoning" his young hopefuls into the first team. Perhaps he'll be back soon, don't know how long Puel will want him around at Lyon, difficult guy to work with is Puel-apparently.
  16. Yes but we all know that there are violent morons amongst our "fans". Always have been, always will be ,football supporters are a representative sample of the general population, probability states that some will be stupid and agressive,it would be strange if it was otherwise.
  17. Ever wondered how exactly you can get to lose 300K a week? Seems a staggeringly high figure.Don't remember us buying many players, just Safri,Saga,Thomas,Davies plus the frees. With the, what, 30 man squad we had last year the salary mass couldn't possibly even equate to 300K every week, just how did we lose all that, I know last summer's player sales cut down the amount but did everyone get let in free every week or something.
  18. Don't know, my daughter is only 17 and seems to be going through the "don't want to be seen dead anywhere whatsoever with my parents phase",we just have to get by with knowing that the vast amounts of cash we're expected to dob up at ever decreasing intervals won't be wasted on buying us meals, drinks or gifts.Guess I have all that other stuff to look forward to, don't think my wife would be overly impressed though.
  19. What hangover? was that just a warm-up for tonight's karaoke binge then?
  20. Not too cold was it?
  21. Don't know what he was on about with the LHC at CERN anyway, it's just going through partial trial runs now, 10th September is accelerate particle injection through the whole tunnel,not sure that there will be any collisions for a while though.So call that one "offside" still two strikes to go;
  22. obviously a better paper than the News of the Screws then, more refined judgement.
  23. Perhaps he's less of a drag on the wage bill when he's not playing (or scoring) don't get any bonuses if you're not in the first team squad, don't get any "goal scoring bonuses" if you don't score.Remember him pushing a on a hat-trick Bale aside a few years ago to score a penalty for no apparent reason?. I expect being in the stand will soon start to hit them about wallet high.May even take whatever moves are on offer, like Saga. Edit, got that wrong, wasn't Bale it was Surman, who eventually took the penalty and got a hat-trick, Rasiak tried though.
  24. What like Niall or Neil? sounds about right.
  25. It's not even about being poor, sports writers only know "names", only "names" have any value, if they don't know, party or go to "events" with your players they are forcedly rubbish, just like Hull,Stoke and Bristol City last season.
