Rivals/Other Prem clubs transfer thread
Window Cleaner replied to SaintBitterne's topic in The Saints
Wasn't good enough to be a PL regular anyway, might have been a squad player with something to offer a decent manager in a decent team. Never mind Marseille wanted him last summer as well so he's profited by a cut of a PL transfer fee and a year of PL salary. No doubt a bit more as well because Marseille can't pay him as much as Villa. they're in the crapper financially and the woman that owns them (inherited) wants to sell. No-one reputable falling over themself to buy them though. -
Still hopeful on that then ....

Maximum 2 year period, could be a week, could be 729 days, could be extended beyond that if there agreement to do so by all parties concerned. The E.U are going to try to screw a maximum out of the UK and the UK is going to try to screw a maximum out of the E.U; At the end of the day the E.U will probably cave in ...because that's what they do. Can you imagine Poland suddenly finding new work for their 2 million repatriated citizens..probably not. Having a low unemployment rate is a powerful weapon.

Must admit the rumour didn't seem to make much sense. Perhaps Everton are stirring it again. -

ah yes, forgot BP cut off applied to bowling as well as batting. Excellent day so far though with Warks having lost a wicket in the second over. -
Done a runner ? Perhaps persuaded by the Conservative "barons" that there's not much point in hanging about for another 2 months for an internal election that you have no chance of winning. Honestly there is no point in waiting until September( unless you're Brian Hyland of course) when the delay is obviously aggravating the situation, might as well get on with it.

Excellent batting from Ervine and Wheater, pity we had a bit of a tail collapse though, only got a few more runs for the loss of our last 5 wickets and a declaration would have robbed them of a bowling point. -

Sounds like a snip if when you take into consideration some of the prices being paid for pretty average players. Today's 35 million is yesterday's 10 million. -
Good, does that mean that they can get on with whatever it is that they want to do now ?

If they stay up every season it's quite a successful formula really. -

Pied plays at full back either side and also can play in a more advanced position. He's a journeyman utility player. Thought he was going to St Etienne though, that's what's being said down at Guichard. -

But PL football has gone a long way since then; Really there is no place for the so-so in the PL any more, Villa and Newcastle have proved that in a spectacular way. -

really not the type of signing you need if you're looking at the upper echelons of the Premier League, Pied is so so-so it's not real. A journeyman. -

No I don't think I suggested that you are the yoof, it often happens though that a different kind of poster crops up during school and Uni vacations. That's OK as long as they're not all CM afficionados who know everything about football because they spend 80% of their time on video football games. Fortunately we don't seem to have as many onboard as certain forums, when you look at other transfer suggestion threads all you can see are CM2016 type projections. However those games do give some an altered vision of reality. If you can sign Pogba and Griezmann on CM why can't the club you actually "support" do it. -
So France vs Portugal.....might have 2 euro winners in our squad by Monday. France look fragile at times and perhaps Portugal have the players needed to exploit that. Portugal look like typical major tournament winners, awful at the start, barely qualify and then get progressively better, how many times have we seen the Italians do that! Mind you playing José and Cedric has certainly helped them improve.

So in the fact that the nation's "jeunesse" have been released from their seats of scholastic study for the summer might then well answer the original question. -

But honestly what can you expect with our bowling as it is ? Take last night, if we hadn't been so awful with the ball in the first few overs then we'd probably have won quite easily. You just can't give away 13 and 14 runs an over for the first 6 or 7 overs. The instant Dawson came on we turned off the tap a bit. Best is the obvious culprit but then as we know he's only a stop gap because of the injuries to Edwards and Topley.
