  1. 5 points and +10 on GD actually.,
  2. Can't be, because A Saint's fan, well he'd never say that something is p*ss poor or unacceptable when it obviously is. If you read the Red Café you can see that there are thousands of 40 yr Utd fans who aren't really Utd fans because they think LvG isn't great and Rooney is past it.
  3. No no no, you've not got used to this forum, players who aren't playing well (or at all ) are always going to get better next week, next season or the next time they play. Saints do not spend money on crap who'll never get better or adapt.. I mean some even think we'll get something out of Gaston Ramirez yet even though he'll leave on a free in 4 weeks time...they are just hopelessly optimistic. NB I went to that France-Holland game, the whole side were awful, but then they usually are without Robben.
  4. Well at least Koeman seems to know we need to spend more money on better players.
  5. Hah, typical dutch ganging together mentality.
  6. Absolutely, they could have been down to 10 men after 20 minutes if we'd pushed it. The laddy looked totally useless for a while and then bit by bit he dug in and actually threatened us with his runs after a while. Just do not understand the way we capitulated last night and yet most seem to find it acceptable.
  7. So much the better, they only put out a stream of moral boosting anyway.
  8. Apparently not because we put out our strongest team and they tried their best. Sounds like my old Akela Nelly Knowles on the subject of Cub Scout Football. The fact that we've spent 100 million £ on players who aren't good enough to beat a depleted Liverpool side doesn't come into the question apparently and yet most seemed to think we would win when the line ups were announced. Some fans seem to settle for very little, you could even say the minimum.
  9. He fielded a couple of shots I think, bog standard picks up from 15 yards though. Picked off a couple of bad crosses from JWP, that's about it. Pity cos he looked as if he might be a bit shaky if tested.
  10. But when you agree on the first team what's left exactly, Juanmi? yeah right, Martina......arf arf arf, Caulker/Yoshida ? Are they really any better than last year's back ups, in fact in Yoshida's case it's exactly the same. We've lost 3 good players, 2 of which have been replaced with inferior quality.
  11. I remember all of these reasons being presented ad nauseum for Gaston, never really got any better though did it..
  12. What else is there to see exactly, he is what he is a bog standard dutch CM who looks good in a poor league. He cost 8 million, won't get exceptional players for that. Feyenoord are doing just as well without him as they did with him it would seem.
  13. Simply because we sold 2 excellent players last summer and lost a third because he didn't want to sign for us on a permanent basis (even though he said he did!!) We replaced them with mid range tat and quantity over quality squad fillers. When you sell the league's best DM for 25 million or so you need to replace him with something better that a dutch midget and a no hoper, card collecting Chelsea reject.
  14. And there you sum up the club's current policy. Koeman spoke about it himself yesterday (or the day before).
  15. Well I thought Harry Reed looked pretty competent when he was called upon last year. Perhaps others saw something that I didn't to his detriment. Still do not see what people see in Clasie, run of the mill CM...
  16. Any win would be acceptable to most I think. A win is a win.
  17. Perhaps he mean's rapid regression year on year from the point when we were 3rd last year. Just an idea, might not mean that at all..
  18. If he gets a game it might put Koeman's binky Clasie into the shadows I suspect.* This is one of Koeman's big problems, he has binkies who get a game no matter what. Remember last year when Pelle couldn't buy a goal and Gallagher was spoken of, Koeman's reaction, we don't need Gallagher,we have enough strikers or something of that ilk. Nothing like boosting a young players confidence levels eh..
  19. Never mind what he said at half time, he shouldn't have said what he did about not being a project manager and needing to spend more money. That says to players "you're not really good enough but the club won't spend more so I'm stuck with you" Didn't really want him in the first place and still think the sooner we're shot of him the better it will be.
  20. Why isn't it good enough, I mean we've spent over 100 million £ on players since the Don left. 100 million raised from the sale of players who were good enough to beat the side that Liverpool put out last night. I'm amazed at the ease with which most posters accept the current shambles despite the shedloads of cash spent on players. Knocked out of europe by danish minnows, thrashed by Liverpool at home and 10th in the PL. Not really good enough is it.
  21. Well then perhaps you should. Liverpool had a rookie left back on the field last night,a 3rd choice midfielder and a 2nd choice keeper. Saint's fans in general are nowhere near demanding enough. The Don would probably have sacked Koeman this morning, well if he'd ever appointed him in the first place that is. As you said we had our best available side out last night and we were totally humiliated by a substandard Liverpool side.
  22. Weren't we top 3 at this time last year ? Befor Frazer got injured and the rot set in.
  23. Seriously? I thought making the league cup final was being built up as a major objective for the club and last night's debacle seems now i to be being written off as a minor mishap. We went 1 up after 45 seconds and had them on the ropes, we didn't have the quality to press home our advantage and their midfield inexorably showed their greater class. Still never mind there's always the FA Cup, and if not next year's League Cup etc etc ad infinitum. .
  24. What big spends....we don't do big spends we do mid range I'll take a punt on him spends. For 12/13 million you don't get proven quality, you get maybe men who might perform if everything around them is working well. Mané is ok, Long a total failure. As for the 5/6 million munters, well you might as well play academy players really. From last night's game I saw nothing done by either Clasie or Romeu that Reed couldn't have done.
  25. You should be then, Klopp has made it easy for us, unless he's actually counting on Sturridge that is.
