Gazza wasn't all that bad when he played last season, probably better than Davis anyway. Of course that's not to say he won't make howlers as per usual.
-
Perhaps there have been sanctions for excesses at the Christmas Party or something.

Free Crack for everyone then :uhoh:
-
5 at the back to compensate for the shîte keeper then ??
-
what's up with Clasie again then ?

Norwich are an awful side, shouldn't be allowed to take the PL's money with a side as bad as that. Personally I can see the start of Leicester's inevitable decline starting today, Chelsea will eventually click and someone will get atomised.

FA Cup 3rd Round Draw - Crystal Palace at Home
Window Cleaner replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
Who on earth would be interested in Eastleigh vs Bolton really. Unknown non-leaguers against nearly bankrupt has beens, no interest in that at all. -
You've misunderstood. The total players salary mass increase is limited to a certain amount of TV revenues, if you increase commercial revenues you can bung on as much of it as you like I think. So if you get a new shirt sponsor deal for 5 million a year whereas the precedent one was only 1 million a year you can add £8 million to your wage bill and so on. This is why getting a shirt sponsor who'll pay serious money is kinda important. It's not a massive influx really but it changes a lot.

Anyway if comes from Bordeaux and it ain't in a bottle it's probably not worth worrying about.
-
Wanyama? We'll get a bit more than we paid for him but probably not a lot, unless of course he strops his way through the rest of the season and becomes a distinct liability.. Unless there are more rules changes in the offing clubs are going to be scrambling for the few HG talents available and have very little non-HG space on their rosters.
-
If that's what we're planning on moving to the next level with in a few years time we need to abandon all hope. It's just pure junk. Saints U18s now 3 down after less than 20 minutes. Birmingham look so much more robust and efficient (except their keeper, he looks about as crap as ours).
-
Well that'll be another Cup game lost then. Sh*t keeper.
-
Well yes, provided that they don't peg it 12 months later apparently leaving no clear instructions as to the follow up.
-
Well it actually says LvG has spent 260 million but the point is the same. We must have spent almost half of that sum since Pochettino left I think so the point isn't particulary valid. At the end of the day what you need to do well in the PL is a couple of prolific strikers and someone to supply them, the rest isn't particularly important because it's about the same throughout the league. Chelsea are the golden example of this, Costa and Hazard aren't scoring and Fabregas isn't setting them up, the rest of their side is roughly identical to that that took the PL by storm last year.

Utd's defence benefits from the habitual iron curtain in front of it, when it's not there the failings become pretty evident, as they did on Tuesday I believe.
-
I don't think Arsenal are even interested in him actually. Spurs still may be but they probably won't pay the asking price, they never do.,
-
Lost too many games I think. Football is a results business. Plenty spent, no results= sack...
-
I don't think they paid very much for Trippier, perhaps we weren't even interested, perhaps he fancied the relative glamour of Spurs. To me Trippier always looks a bit too porky to be a really good player.
-
Pires was down in Nairobi the other day and probably felt the need to say good things about a Kenyan footballer for the occasion. He probably only knows anything about Wanyama so he made the throw away comment that he was good enough to play for Arsenal. That's probably about all there was of it. Could have said any PL or Continental team but Arsenal probably carried more weight to his soundbite so he said that.
-
Perhaps but come what may Saints desperately need HG players because we're one short of the limit of non HGs that we can put on our list. Of course we'll certainly get rid of a couple of them as well but we need more HGs.
-
Perhaps we're thinking of selling Bertrand, I mean he must be worth a few bob by now mustn't he ?
-
Well when you've a supposed 3 billion, 60 million is in fact absolutely nothing to write off, it's half of the annual interest on 3 billion invested in government bonds or something. Of course if you don't actually have 3 billion then 60 million becomes more significant as the supposed "fortune" declines. Zuckerberg gave away 45 billion dollars or something and thought it a good idea.
-
Isn't it just all Football Manager approximations anyway? I mean I haven't looked at it all but I see that Schweinsteiger isn't listed in the MU section.
-
And we must have had questionnaires concerning at least half of them on this forum.
-
Seriously?? We probably do need to spend money but only because we weren't wise with our investments last summer. Then again when you have to replace a top level CB who was only on loan with a player costing 12 or 13 million you probably needed to dip into the reserves a bit more for the rest than we actually did. Given the level of our agents fees for the 12 months to end of September we must have at least one signing who cost us a lot on that front.
