  1. Fans won't like it though, it probably means sacrificing 2 out of 4 competitions in the very early stages. Leicester are doing well for a reason, well several actually, decent players including 2 outrageous goalscorers, good manager, hardly any injuries, few internationals and only one competition to play for in the months beyond January.
  2. The title being won with less points than is usual is probably an effect of the increased finances coming into every club in the league. There are no longer any really dominant clubs and an unbeaten season such as Arsenal's in 2004 will probably not be seen again unless for some reason football loses a lot of TV income and goes back to what it was 10 years ago.
  3. Probably because the bookies made him a take it or leave it offer and the sum would probably diminish if they lose a game. I looked at them yesterday and whilst Watford we just dire in attack you kind of got the impression that anyone with anything realistic up front would see Leicester off with little trouble...mind you it's been like that all season really and they're still up there.
  4. Wise choice really, they really aren't that great just now, mind you they keeping on winning 1-0 I suppose.. If the Arse and Spurs (potentially) both go out of Europe this week then I wouldn't give a great deal for Leicester's chances of finishing top. Their games against West Ham, Saints ,Chelsea and Utd will decide their fate.
  5. Borini was past Fonte and heading for goal, Fonte wrestled him back by pulling his shirt and bear hugging him as he so often does, how anyone can dispute that the red card was outed I just can't see.
  6. Wasn't harsh, it's the standard punishment for dragging back a player who's through on goal.
  7. Not sure, might only be one for a preventing a goal chance foul.
  8. Good comeback in additional time.
  9. That would be the King Rufus in Eling I think.
  10. Mosul is in Iraq so we'll count that as the Middle East in general shall we. It is also a bit of an IS stronghold so perhaps it getting washed away wouldn't displease everyone.
  11. At one time the you could reckon on the very best players earning roughly double the average industrial wage. Imagine earning 150K£ a week in a factory nowadays.
  12. Saints don't pay Sneijder type salaries. I'll put him down for a West Ham type signing.
  13. But we're a fair few points worse off than we were after 28 games last season I think (9 perhaps ?). We didn't finish last season at all well though so there is still some hope of roughly equalling last season's performance.
  14. I'd doubt if Utd are really all that interested, there will be far better players available next summer than Mané. Haven't they already done some sort of deal for Felipé Anderson ? Utd aren't really big buyers of Africans either.
  15. Tough game, result unpredictable.
  16. Not sure that he can be accused of not trying, he looks so entirely predictable though and defenders always seem to be able to guess pretty accurately what he's intending to do.
  17. I think his head is elsewhere.
  18. I'm not sure that it was an official rubbish tip rthough. I certainly remember it before the work started, used to play there as a small child, I think it was just muddy waste ground with a lot of crap dumped there. At the time that I first remember it only Bitterne Park Rec the original part existed. Used to play football and rounders there went I went to BP Juniors and Infants. The left and right extensions were added on at some time in the 60s after we moved to West End.
  19. Still haven't worked out what happened with their first goal.
  20. Possesion perhaps but no end product on the horizon. They move the ball about a lot but I don't think you get any points for that. 1-0 should see us win because Chelsea don't look like scoring really.
  21. Bought some decent players and then hired 2 shîte managers.
  22. I expect that's got something to do with the 2/3 or so of the total surface area being dedicated to Agriculture and stuff though. Take away the wet areas which are uninhabitable and the ever increasing forest areas and the rest is fairly compact I'd think.
  23. don't think he's had many other red cards actually, couple of suspensions for accumulated yellow cards though. Perhaps before this season Morgan and Victor shared out the iffy tackles between them and thus red cards were less likely.
  24. Liam Dawson called up for the T20 world cup in India then.
  25. No but when a ref is deciding on the spur of them moment whether to give you a yellow or a red what has come before obviously does come into the equation. Sort of that looks nasty, I've already warned the idiot twice, right no brainer he's off.
