We might pay "good salaries" but we don't pay the type of salary you need to attract or keep top players. You want a top guy ? It's 80K a week minimum. You want a really top top guy, you're looking at 100K and plus.

Anyway the 3rd round of the FA Cup is always a bit of a lottery if you fall against a decent team, probably because of the packed end of year programme.

Explain to us exactly why he isn't selected game after game then.. Perhaps he has another mystery injury or something. Supposedly a top notch international (well not really only 12 caps so far) and yet he's not a regular starter. It's not the fans who've written him off unjustly, it's the manager who just doesn't seem keen to play him. If you consider reason it's because he isn't fit enough or strong enough for the rigours of English football. We're almost half way through the season, knocked out of Europe, knocked out of the League Cup and 12th in the league and the lad has played what 7 or 8 times out of 22 games, there has to be a reason for that really and don't bleat about pre-season.,

Isn't their owner desperately trying to sell them ? Probably needs to minimise debt to make them an attractive buy. They did buy quite a few players but I think they have some injuries and others that they bought were pretty mediocre. Few frenchmen IIRC, now French players look good in their league but when the fall into the comparison of really decent players they are often severely lacking in any useful attribute.

Well I expect we pay Gaston less when he doesn't play. Koeman has no time for him either so that makes it a handy jobby all round.

Well he's not going to get a whole lot better if he never plays though is he, unless he's like Chaplow..now him, the more he didn't play the better he got...until he actually played that is.

Neither of them are doing a very good job just now. For me the Dutch football manager type philosophy just isn't right for the PL.

Gazza wasn't all that bad when he played last season, probably better than Davis anyway. Of course that's not to say he won't make howlers as per usual.

Perhaps there have been sanctions for excesses at the Christmas Party or something.
