  1. Well as we've only won 2 games out of 7 anyway I'd doubt that yer statisticians would accept that as a representative sample.
  2. Maximum points doesn't enter into the equation, when we win this game we will be on 163 points, Sussex only need to draw, if we had the 7 extra points against Yorks then they'd need to win and would be under some pressure. Somerset are looking none too bright either. Desperate roll of the dice which didn't go our way unfortunately. Anyway we seem to be looking to wrap it up quickly if possible, only way to get Sussex quaking a bit I suppose.
  3. And with Hants now in an excellent looking position, unless Notts have a big tail wag again, that bad bargain against Yorks is going to be churned up time and time again this winter. It leaves Sussex just needing to straight bat their way to a draw which they probably will, being under no pressure whatsoever. We put it all on red and it came up black.
  4. BMW seem to be about to join the list of culprits as well. I have a diesel DS4, I have no doubt that the CO2 emissions are way above whatever's written on the test sheet.
  5. Ah but no, all would change if we won and they drew I think. If we should win and they only draw then we advance by 11 points compared to them. If we'd got those theoretical extra 7 against Yorks then a win for us and a draw for them would see us above them I think. I doubt that we'll win anyway so it will all become academic. I supported that decision anyway and am certainly not looking to beat anyone with it.
  6. So a deficit of 14 on the first innings, better than it looked at one point but we still need to bowl them out cheaply and knock off the difference. Add to that that Sussex still have to lose.....far fetched scenario all in all. I hope that we won't regret the attempt at a result against Yorkshire, although it's been a poor season all round and that decision was only made necessary by previous poor results anyway.
  7. perhaps we get an add on for that..
  8. Got half...well reportedly so anyway.
  9. 89/5 now, top order all gone for not a great deal, sad, sad season.
  10. A specialist nigh****chman like Derek Underwood for instance is a useful thing to have in the case of just a couple of overs in poorish conditions.
  11. An attacking full back who the manager seems to think has limited defensive capacities...isn't that a winger ??
  12. Well getting knocked out of Europe at the second hurdle wouldn't have pleased many managers I'd guess. We were truly awful in Denmark and no matter what the selection was you'd have to think that he'd have expected better of the players..I know I did.
  13. Great start again, their middle order seem to be digging in again though.
  14. probably because he's played with the bloke at Monaco and didn't rate his chances of pulling off a save overmuch.
  15. I only saw him do one thing yesterday...take the ball away from an onrushing Saint who might have had a chance of a decent shot from about 8 yards.
  16. Probably looking to see if Barca had texted him with a job offer eh!! You'd have think our last 10 minute push for a draw would have stopped him doing that.
  17. I bet we don't.
  18. Well whether we've "dropped a clanger" or not depends on our pretentions doesn't it ? We won't be top 8, maybe not even top 10 but after that who knows where we aim to finish.
  19. so why doesn't the manager play him there then. He should be our first choice right back for all occasions but it seems that he isn't.
  20. We'll probably post a loss actually. The 35 million comes from the sales of Shaw and Lambert...virtually the exact sum in fact which went through before the end of the 2013-14 financial year. After that we sold Lovren, Chambers and Lallana and spent a packet on Tadic,Pelle,Long,Mané etc. We'll see in March.
  21. I think we'll have a better idea of our exact state after the Swansea game. Utd are always hard to beat.
  22. Don't see what difference it makes, the manager should be able to use all of the players in his squad and not just his own recommended binkies.
  23. No he's rubbish dontcha know, Spurs only spend money on rubbish..well known fact amongst the unenlightened.
  24. I'm not sure that Maya is left footed..I mean he has a left foot but I don't think he uses it overmuch..well apart from standing on that is.
  25. I don't know that Lallana has gone downhill, he's never fit for more than a couple of games on the trot. He always was a bit of a delicate flower and perhaps Liverpool don't know how to handle that.
