What a strange rule, why have umpteen goalkeepers if you can't loan them out to gain experience, goalkeepers need games all of the time, no point in having so many that you can't use.

Absolutely, I mean it's not the PL's fault if we're stupid enough to continue to employ shîte goalkeepers now is it. All of them could have been loaned out for this season and it wouldn't have made a bit of difference to the only thing that counts..the first team.

I think we must assume that he's already got at least 1 move to a club who are certain to qualify for the CL lined up in principal, all the rest remains to be seen. His agent is very close to Garcia at AS Rome, wouldn't be his first choice move perhaps but it's probably all agreed bar signing on the dotted line and coughing up the swans. Been reading of a strange case in Germany. At Mayence one of the keepers is out of contract this summer and the club didn't want to renew his contract so he invoked ordinary employment law in germany where a worker can ask to be hired on an indefinite contract (same as any other worker really) after 2 years service. The courts upheld his right to do this and now if Mayence want to get shot of him they-ll have to find a reason to sack him and no doubt pay compensation. Now if all footballers in Germany started doing that (if it was to their advantage) it might make a hell of a mess of the transfer system.
