  1. I am still troubled by that fleeting report that jets were overhead, about 180k from Orange to the crash zone, what about 12 minutes for a Mirage at Mach 1, now I don't want to get all Pap about this but did the French know what was going down? At what height would a satellite phone function.
  2. I suspect that he didn't think at all, which is why I said it's not really the action of a motivated terrorist.
  3. Still not much of a real terrorist action though is it, action of a whacko yes but there are better things to do with an A320 than just piledrive it into the Alps, if you're going to do it for some weird cause or other then do it well. The lack of any evident motive tells us that it was not a classic premeditated terrorist action. As I said earlier, Lyon, Turin and Marseille were at hand. Just a seriously deranged person no doubt.
  4. What a strange rule, why have umpteen goalkeepers if you can't loan them out to gain experience, goalkeepers need games all of the time, no point in having so many that you can't use.
  5. Absolutely, I mean it's not the PL's fault if we're stupid enough to continue to employ shîte goalkeepers now is it. All of them could have been loaned out for this season and it wouldn't have made a bit of difference to the only thing that counts..the first team.
  6. Although having specifically mentioned him I seem to remember something about Strootman having a pretty serious knee injury, don't know if he's playing at all just now. Still it'd be a new challenge for that injury management wallah that Utd fiched from us.
  7. No idea, but I suspect that it won't be anwhere near as high as many think. They certainly have a few players who'd bring them in the 20 million £ that they'll need, starting with Strootman who's a big LvG target I believe.
  8. I think we must assume that he's already got at least 1 move to a club who are certain to qualify for the CL lined up in principal, all the rest remains to be seen. His agent is very close to Garcia at AS Rome, wouldn't be his first choice move perhaps but it's probably all agreed bar signing on the dotted line and coughing up the swans. Don't say he'll go there of course but has already his worse case scenario option lined up.
  9. Been reading of a strange case in Germany. At Mayence one of the keepers is out of contract this summer and the club didn't want to renew his contract so he invoked ordinary employment law in germany where a worker can ask to be hired on an indefinite contract (same as any other worker really) after 2 years service. The courts upheld his right to do this and now if Mayence want to get shot of him they-ll have to find a reason to sack him and no doubt pay compensation. Now if all footballers in Germany started doing that (if it was to their advantage) it might make a hell of a mess of the transfer system.
  10. Won't go to Arsenal, they've had their chance. Citeh or AS Rome would be my forecasts.
  11. Isn't that already standard proceedure with some airlines ? Thought I read somewhere that it was. Still in the case of a whackjob nothing to stop him/her giving the other one a whack with a starting handle or something I suppose.
  12. Commonly known as a diesel I believe, before the days of HDI and TDCI of course.
  13. Still don't expect Morgan to go to Arsenal myself, if they were going to splash the cash on him they'd have done it long ago, expect them to go for the cheap option of Khedira myself. That leaves Chelsea,Utd and City.....and with Touré possibly on his way out.........join up the dots yourselves.
  14. There's a French Airforce Base at Orange which isn't all that far away, they might well have Rafales and Mirages up on mountainous terrain exercises at any time (especially just now), we get them overhead at low altitude about twice a week or so from March to October.
  15. Seems to have said nothing much different from his Canal+ appearance a few weeks back. Apart from the red card stuff that is.
  16. Which is exactly what he's doing, stupid choice and the FA got what they deserved. Probably just a stall appointment until they can give the job to Gerrard.
  17. In that case why not crash the plane on Marseille or Lyon ? Just doesn't add up at all.
  18. Why would they be, Serbia isn't in the EU neither does it have a free trade agreement with the EU as far as I know. Tadic and Djuricic both needed work permits. At this time I believe we have 5 players with work permits, maybe even 6 don't know where Victor stands, probably about as many as any other PL side.
  19. Who was the last PL quality CB that came through the system then ?
  20. Could be separated I suppose.
  21. So he doesn't have a broken kneecap then, did wonder how he'd done that from the incident I saw.
  22. The only way that I could see us considering Richards is as some sort of part exchange deal. Not good enough for City, probably not good enough for us.
  23. The only problem being that apart from Victor the rest are all pretty small blokes whereas Morgan and Jack Cork are 6 footers. Don't know that there is still much room for midget midfielders in English football really.
  24. So we're going to be Feyenoord in disguise is that it, we'll see how that pans out for us, could be worse I suppose.
