Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 3-0 Everton
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Excellent, few chances 3 goals. Good defensive performance to boot. -
Perhaps the solution was to rest him before he suffered a serious dip in form, I thought we had people who watched over that.
-
As long as that huh,
-
Except that he's now a tough tackling 20 year old.
-
We shall see at 10 to 5 ish no doubt, I think you're vastly underating good players but let's wait and see.
-
Very few CFs dominate Distin in the air, it's on the ground that you need to get at Everton, then again Mané vs Coleman, might just be a no contest.
-
Perhaps we needed to give the chap a break and get someone in to carry his mysterious cool box, must have sh@gged the poor dear out lugging that around everywhere. The intensity of the PL isn't for everyone, that's why there are so many high priced players who are just so so and return to doing great things when they return to Italy or Spain.
-
I don't doubt that you're right about the second part, looked at them the other day, they're beginning to seize what's required and look pretty fit at the end of games, still rather have him here than there myself but it wasn't to be.
-
Can't see anything happening in January, just don't think anyone will offer anywhere near enough. Still think Clasie is far too small to be an effective CM in the PL as well, wouldn't count on that either.
-
Puma boots have been an embarassment for years, they must pay well to persuade blokes to look that stupid.
-
Ah but there they're making out that they didn't make it up and start putting about. Speculation falls into 2 main categories "paper talk" ie crap they've made up themselves and "agent bolloaks", whereby someone interested in getting the player a move makes it up and tells the paper.
-
Hah just as I thought Morgan signed on with Adidas for 4 years today. Hope they kit him out with the new Predator Instinct All Black All Leather boots, #tasteful.
-
Paper talk.
-
Lawro...Liverpool man right ? Hates Everton, how many of us would automatically predict a win for anyone Pompey are playing.
-
But the real question is this. Is he a 10.8 million £ pile of crap as you'd believe if you read the Mail, the Telegraph or RB Salzburgs site (they intitially wanted 20 million € apparently) or is he a 4 million £ hopeful in the same way that Mayuka was. 4 million... well what can you expect but 10,8 million is something different. If he really cost 4 million then haven't we been led up the garden path a bit on exactly how much we spent last summer. Perhaps Long didn't really cost 12 million either.. who knows what we made and what we spent really. Is that Swiss Ramble bloke still out there ?
-
Ah yes Wolves in about 2006 springs to mind. Trouble is Everton are a side stuffed with quality players and they are beginning to find their feet after a difficult start to the season. We can always hope for another Toffees off day though.
-
You seem remarkably well informed this morning Richard, in fact you're on fire, first the bombshell that Mané only cost 4 million £ instead of the 10 million that most accepted as the transfer fee and now that HR has might have serious technical fault and is unplayable in certain circumstances...could well believe you on both counts, Mané looks like a 4 million £ player and Reed, well I guess we might find out tomorrow.
-
Really? Then the club should make that known and dispel the urban myth that we paid over 10 million £s for him. A £10 million fee was accepted by Salzburg for the Senegal international and the deal was confirmed shortly after the transfer window closed at 11pm. From the Telegraph
-
Ronald says he had his specific reasons...so there, that certainly told us now didn't it.
-
I really don't why there's so much surprise over Mané, he doesn't really have the pedigree to be a star in the PL. Came from Metz"s academy when they were in the French 3 rd division semi pro league, then to Salzburg in the Austrian League which isn't famed for it's quality. We paid 10 million £ for him on what basis? because we were desperate probably. He may come good but it certainly won't be tomorrow or next Friday. We should have gone for someone with a bit of real league experience for 10 million £, how much did Palarse give us for Puncheon 1,75 million was it..
-
It's always net east of Dover, players don't care how much they cost, they care about what they get.
-
Can't do that, they'd probably win and then questions would be asked about transfer fees and bench hugging.
-
It should never, ever be forgotten that Steve De Ridder was a star in the Dutch league. The intensity of the PL is what does for them, it's 95 minutes effort every time, there are no easy games where you can slack off and let it slide a bit and nothing changes.
-
And probably above us come 10 to 5 on Saturday.
-
3 games before that though, guess we were just spacing them out by getting 3 suspensions on Tuesday.
