Apparently our players need to be more ruthless in the box, not around it, in it. Explains everything I think.

So we apparently had 12 shots at goal of which only 2 were on target, 1 from Morgan and 1 from Pelle. All of the others were wayward, 3 from Mané, 2 from Elia, 2 from Morgan and 3 from others.

Don't think it's at all a case of being "scared", seems more like an instruction from the manager.

Spurs filching our head of recruitment must have really helped though. It's not only players that get knicked from us, head of injury management, head of recruitment, video analysts...all has changed in not so much time.

Probably won't happen that way anyway, can't go on for ever, we have to score sooner or later, perhaps a punt from long range, haven't had one of those for a while. If Toby is fit eough to play I expect to see a lot more composure at the back again and our wingbacks getting forward far more.

They're all good finishers in the box when they don't have top class defenders within 15 inches of them for the 90 minutes the game lasts. Top class strikers know how to create time and space, therein lies the difference between an Aguero and any Tom D*ck or Harry.

By scoring 2 goals in each of the games against Newcastle and Sunderland with their defences in meltdown. Great goal against QPR though but as we all know those bicycle kicks can end up in the net or row ZZ.

And the lack of anticipation from Gardos really.

Sunderland 2, Newcastle 2, QPR 1, West Ham 1, Utd 1, Everton 1..that's the total of his league goal scoring, in 4 cases out of 6 against some of the weakest defences in the PL, bloke is a bust we just need to accept that and move on.

Not so sure, the last 5 or 6 games have shown him to be a bit of a one dimensional thinker.

Doesn't get enough game time for us to be able to decide really.

Well yes perhaps, JRod still hasn't donned his boots in anger and we're in March, the problem is there really. We punted on him being back a couple of months ago I expect and it didn't happen. When everyone else was scoring then the problem was veiled a bit but as there have been no goals from midfield or defence of late the true situation rears it's head again. Pelle isn't good enough and Long doesn't play enough.

I sometimes get the impression that Koeman isn't Long's biggest fan.

Absolutely, anyone want to try to name another PL striker who'd not have buried at least one out of the two.

Wasn't he only saying the other day that Top 4 was still a definite aim for us this season.

Honestly when West Ham turned up the wick Palace were all over the place, can't really see them troubling us apart from Bolasie, hope that the video intervention board (or whatever they call themselves) have a look at that deliberate elbow from Jedinak as well, probably won't be in time for Tuesday though.

Biggest mistake of the summer was letting Lallana leave. Sort of player who can always produce a spark when we need it. Others got over it, so have would he. Tadic just isn't comparable, in fact he's just another dutch league selling plater.AS Brendan says we didn't have to sell.
