Kalou for instance, their place in the league last season was entirely dependant on his performance, no money to pay him, no unbalanced books allowed in Ligue 1 so they sold him to Hertha. It's what happens in french football, Qatar St Germain excepted.

Pooe old Mayuka doesn't even get a mention for not being available in January.

We could have beaten Arsenal but we didn't, we definitely should have beaten Utd but we didn't, it means basically that we cannot seem to fulfill our potential against some of the better sides in the league. Three straight losses will never ever be met with universal approval, questions will be asked every time. Why I bet even Ronald has had to explain it away, as he says when you lose everything is shît.

Excellent attitude, losing is shît, needs to be avoided. Also the line about them having players who handle mistakes better, difference between good players and class players. Hope he's not becoming disillusioned over our ability to compete with the best. 5 games againt "big clubs" 5 defeats.

I can't, then again we don't really know where we are with key injuries.

Passes and deft flicks do have a tendancy to be less effective when defenders are of a better quality and position themselves better. We've recently lost to 3 top sides, they don't pay players small fortunes per week to be conned by just anybody. Our problem is goalscoring, perhaps that's because defenders and keepers are better as well. The other problem we have had these last 2 and a half games is composure in midfield, when you're in trouble as a rule you just slide the ball to Morgan who sorts it out whilst making it look as if he's done nothing because he plays in such a simple way.

Surely Swansea could overtake us by getting 4 points more and scoring a lot of goals, you know like whopping Hull 8-0 with us conceding a fair few. It's not likely of course but it is possible.

do stats win games now then ? What wins games is putting the ball in the back of the net, Tadic doesn't do that, neither does he defend well.

It was certainly a very poor goal to concede but that's how RvP gets half of his goals and I'm sure someone was detailed to stop him from doing just that. Substitution was silly though, especially sending on someone as green as that at a free kick.

Indeed but where you've aspirations to be a top side you need to be consistent and not start well and then fall away. We did it last season as well, I put that down to JRod's injury in the main though. We probably had more chances against Arsenal and Utd but didn't put them away in the same manner.

For me this is has been our biggest failing recently, we just do not put our chances away and then suffer the consequences when all those "world class" players get a sniff of goal. Looked at Stoke-Arsenal the other day and noted just how much more efficient Stoke were on that occasion.

We'll see on all of those at the end of the season, for me Tadic still has it all to do, nowhere near as good as Lallana yet.

For that you'd have to look at some other free kicks and corners and see where Tadic usually defends, might have a look at my recording later.

Victor seemed to be the nearest to RVP but perhaps he was marking someone else, then again perhaps he, like most people, just expected Forster to come out and catch the ball. Doesn't really matter, if we had put our chances away we'd have been out of sight by then so ifs and buts work both ways. .

Who knows really, it's all smoke and mirrors concerning them. They'll be back when they're back and that's about it.

Anyone who does not write Mayuka off as a lost cause is a nutcase, he just won't make the grade. I fear that Mané will go the same way, bags of speed but no savvy. Wanyama came from Celtic and not from some micky mouse austrian or swiss side.

Nevertheless we do seem to have an awful record on signing african players, first Mayuka and now Mané, not to mention Taider because he's not really african. Whoever scouts them needs to look at his criteria again. Still when you leave your signings to the last minute it's quite understandable.

Because they take the minimal amount of chances that they create and punish mistakes at the back, we don't. When we can score from the odd chance that we make we'll be a better side than they, until then....................
