League Cup??? remind me when their semi is...oh right Wednesday, they never took this game seriously and for good reason.

what do you expect? them to play their first team such as it is? They've got a League Cup Semi on Wednesday FFS.

well as they obviously never intended to take the game seriously then I'd doubt that it makes much difference to Allardyce's career. They're away from home, it's not their fans who've paid for tickets to see a joke side.

Our effective squad is ridiculously small, must boil down to about 15 or 16 players in all reality, the PL lets you have 25 plus the U21s. To have 15 or 16 useful players including 3 U21s is a bit lame. We need to stop kidding oureselves that all these squad fillers that we have will ever make the grade. We're obviously a bit limit on salarial mass otherwise we'd sign good players on free transfers to replace some of our crap. Who was the last senior FT that we signed, must have been Lee I think, that turned out well didn't it.

it also depends on just how aggressive his agent is, think it's Tam Byrne, he's with some big agency or other but I don't know much about them.

really it's all about Boruc, simply because he controls his area. This quality in a keeper is vastly overlooked. He makes the occasional balls up, most do but controlling the box most of the time outweighs that. We tried KD and Gazza last season, you just have to accept that however they may look on occasions in games, overall they just aren't very good. Boruc might have conceded one of yesterday's goals.

3.5 million more like A cut of an 8 million £ deal wouldn't be negligible though, If it's 5% as it used to be that alone would come to 400K

perhaps most of them were a bit surprised to be playing after what the manager had been saying beforehand. Rotation blah blah blah, opportunities for young players blah,blah but in the end all we changed was the 2 CBs and JRod and Lallana got a few minutes off.

dead legs hurt a bit you know, what did he look like in the 10 minutes of the game before he got that ? Might be hard to tell because I think Burnley were roughing us up a bit for those minutes. Personally I'm not fussed, if he goes he goes, if he stays he stays but as of yet there's only paper speculation about him leaving and the bloke himself saying only a couple of weeks back just how attached to Southampton he's become.

well to be honest there wasn't all that much of it; Must have been a bit over 13000 Saints fans there, all the rest are spent out or just don't go to cup games any more. Mind you the OS wittering on about possible starts for Reed and Gallagher didn't really help sell tickets at 20£ each.

I don't think it's the heading part of his game that causes problems now, it's when the ball is on the deck that the trouble starts.

He had no reason not to send 3 players off last season, it was a bad tempered affair and none of the 3 can possibly have had any sentiment of injustice for their sendings off.

Bad side, at home...someone like Southend or Rochdale. We'll need to rest some of our players again for the 4th round because it's going to be sandwiched between Sunderland away and Arsenal at home. Wouldn't want to trekking off far away on Sat or Sun with the Arse at home on Tuesday.

well it seems that we in fact won by a moral boosting 4-0 but some of our back 4 felt sorry for Burnley and let all the local lads have their 30 seconds of glory at SMS.

Isn't he already supposed to be going on loan somewhere, I think there are a fair few candidates already.
