Plenty of shirt pulling on view on the Gallery on the OS. However if the ref had given a penalty for the offence shown in image 5 it would have been more logic. Fonte just has to cut that out.
-
And keep them out of the school playground. Jeez I had a full range of obscene words gleaned from the playground at BP Junior by the time I was about 6. Didn't learn a single new swear word at the Dell. Everybody knows all the swear words at an early age, just whether you choose to use them constantly or not.
-
I watched them yesterday and I can't quite see exactly why they replaced Dembele with yet another Brazilian, Sandro and Dembelé was a decent pairing until Sandro got injured last season, Parker afterwards perhaps not so much but I really don't think Paulinho has added anything that Dembele didn't offer. As for Capoué they'll soon learn what a heap of junk he is.

well as other leagues are less secret squirrel about player salaries it's known that Lamela was only on about 14K€ a week at Rome. I did read that he was going to be on an annual 2.4 million € at Spurs so that's about 40K£ a week I think, a long way off whatever Bale was on. Chuck in soldado for a similar figure and you've still 2 for less than the price of 1. Salaries aren't particularly high at a lot of Italian and spanish clubs, that's why they all jump at the chance to play in the PL.
-
but we should be doing exactly that, our strikers should be as good as theirs, perhaps we'd have less of them but if you want to compete with the best you need the best players. To me there is no point in spending 16 million on a striker who doesn't start nigh on every game or scores from about 1 chance in every 5 or 6. You might as well throw in another 5 or 6 million and get someone who scores in virtually every other game. We need to start Osvaldo in every game for which he is fit and if that means chucking Lambert onto the scrap heap then so be it.
-
wasn't it all sold out in 43 seconds or something like that ?
-
Obviously a class player but when he gets chances he seems to be mistiming his shot or not lifting it or lifting it too much. Compared to say Aguero or Negredo he isn't very efficient as of yet. Those 2 bury everything that comes their way. City had 10 shots on target yesterday and scored 6 goals.
-
Probably not as much as you might think. With the number of outs they must have saved a packet, doubt if Soldado and Lamela combined earn as much as they'd have had to pay Bale to stay. As for the others you can probably offset them as like for like because some of the blokes they shipped out probably weren't there for a low salary, like Dempsey,Caulker and Parker. They did pretty well in the transfer market monetary wise it's just that what they brought in hasn't really replaced what went out in terms of team effort. PL clubs should really steer clear of players from Italy, it just doesn't work unless they're vastly experienced and built like outside khazis. The problem with adapting to the PL is that there are no easy games, every week it's a tough grind whereas in other championships there are always a few really rubbish sides that take little or no effort to beat.
-
Perhaps they could get Adkins instead, sh*t hot, young English manager...or so I'm told.
-
Can't see why they'd sack AVB myself. The "board" sold his best player, the one who scored virtually all of their vital goals last season and replaced them with a bunch of lads with no PL experience (which is a handicap for just one and a major problem if there are several). Without Bale's goals last season they wouldn't have been far above the relegation zone, looks like one player just might be more important than the team in this case.
-
Storm in a teacup. Spurs will probably win 5-0 next week and all will be forgotten. A manager can only achieve so much, mind you they did spend a lot of money last summer but they cashed in a lot as well, no point in paying tax on the profits from selling Bale.
-
surprised that Lloris's faux pas yesterday hasn't been mentioned, put them on the slippery slope after 10 seconds. A keeper f*ck up is a keeper ***** up, they almost always lead to gift goals, bet not many PL keepers pass the season without one. In passing and on the subjects of GKs, do we know why Gazza was on the bench on Saturday and not KD?
-
Tignes is good, perennial snow on the upper slopes, pricey though. I shall be at my usual (and local) stations from time to time, Chalmazel and Super Besse, cheap and cheerful and about my standard cos I'm a bit wobbly on the tricky stuff.
-
Think we might see a couple of changes, perhaps Osvaldo to start with Lambert on the bench and personally I wasn't over convinced by JWP's contribution on Saturday, a bit stereotyped, perhaps he was worn down by his international duties, depends how much we're counting on his dead ball delivery really. I'd start Gaston but then I don't play FIFA 14 or CM.
-
of course it was, if you look at the OS gallery you'll see José bear hugging Giroud a few times as well. He's always done it and we can be quite thankful that it doesn't get penalised more often. He needs to cut it out.
-
Victor won't make until the end of December without another yellow card so we'll have to go to plan C for at least 1 game. Morgan drops back into his old role and Davis or JWP take over his.
-
the game has got too fast and too elaborate for the level of the refereeing. It's a global problem. In the end they'll just have to adopt the Franco-Italian approach and blow up if it looks iffy. In today's Cardiff Utd game the ref obviously bottled out of sending Rooney off, I hope the review commission will correct that.

We're still 5th then, still believe we could in theory finish above Liverpool,Utd and Spurs. Artur will have to cut out the comedy though. -

He's a penalty king, not much use if you don't get any. -

but they were extremely efficient in the last 20 yards. Still a gift goal after 14 seconds helps. -

Looks like Utd are going to be scraping the barrel to get a decent side out today. Must have 5 or 6 regular starters out I think. -

And Lamela, makes Gaston look like a good player at less than half of the price, I really really wonder about the standard of Italian football sometimes. City's signing Negredo looks like a good player though. -
Oh yes it would, can't touch a keeper in France, instant whistle job. Anyway here's a little video, sorry about the 30 secs publicity but at least you can stop it and see Giroud pushing Boruc with both hands. After that it's up to our resident refs. http://www.football.fr/angleterre/articles/video-boruc-dribbleur-ridicule-440116/

foul or a game for men ? decide for yourself. Probably not a PL foul, would be in Italy or Spain.

Post Match Reaction: Arsenal 2-0 SAINTS

I liked what Wanyama did yesterday but I do think he could distribute the ball a weeny bit better (or quicker) on occasions. However with Lambert having a shocker like he did yesterday perhaps it wouldn't make much difference. Lambert with 1 shot and 53% pass completion just negated whatever we tried. Osvaldo has to start soon...and Gaston
