  1. perhaps he has premature ageing or something, lad of 18 really shouldn't look that old.
  2. Morgan is just represented by a law firm, Thomas Cooper law, isn't Lallana represented by his Dad ?
  3. Just off the top of my head then. Kurzawa from Monaco, Soaré from Lille and the Bosnian bloke from Lazio, all young players who are far better defensively than Luke Shaw. You could probably get them all for the price you could (in theory ) get for Shaw. He'll probably be out again on Saturday and we'll be back to either Fox or Clyne out of position.
  4. Still think we should take anything over say 14 million because there are better left backs for less money. I know he's only young but he looks far older and keeps on getting injured.
  5. only 2 now though,
  6. If they have or had so much talent why are less than 30% of PL players of UK origin? The modern game at it's highest level has surpassed the type of talent you can find on street corners and in public houses.
  7. In a game that time has left behind, look at the old YouTube videos, they're all porky, there's no closing down and players wouldn't get the time and space now that they did then. Football has changed, the old "heroes" would be nothing in today's game.
  8. but he won't leave, don't know why there's all this speculation. No-one can pay us what we paid, there's no money in Italy and less in Spain so the question is a bit pointless.
  9. I only put 2 players because I'd only take 2 of our ex's to play in today's side. Only 2 with the technical ability and fitness levels to be able to play today's game. People make me laugh with their Jimmy Case obsession, he'd be red carded after 2 minutes, he had no technical ability just a lot of aggression.
  10. Bale and Shearer, I'd pass on all the rest, wouldn't be good enough or fit enough for today's game.
  11. They still have horse drawn carriages up there ?
  12. Scotland will be a banana republic without bananas.
  13. there's a lot of rubbish in their squad, they aren't particulary overloaded at CB as Luiz is out for a fair while. Just leaves Cahill and Terry with Ivanovic as a stand in on many occasions, means they have to play Bertrand at RB. Azpilicueta is easily exploitable at LB as well. They have a shedload of midfielders but some of the other positions aren't too well covered.
  14. he's been washed up since he left DC Utd, just not up to real football standards.
  15. so no footballers in the shortlist at all then let alone Rickie Lambert..
  16. They couldn't afford the vast majority of those, bookies should be prosecuted for fraudulent candidates. By the by whilst I'm on the Pompey topic, Arcadi Gaydamak has been arrested in Zurich and will probably now have to serve his 3 year jail sentence in France.
  17. who cares, they'll get what they're given, football management is not a greek democracy. Anyway they've got AVB for now and I really can't see that changing any time soon. If they wanted success they shouldn't have sold Bale.
  18. the Krankies...sounds about right then.
  19. Missed the build up becaue I work Saturdays, why were Fox and KD not on the bench, anyone know ? Illness, Injury, being phased out ?
  20. don't think it's about downloading really Bearsy, it's about illegal circuiting of regional rights. In theory Sky isn't available in France but I know a few people who have UK Sky subscriptions and just get the cards sent from home. I suppose in this case you just get a local to subscribe to Al Jaz and send the equipment back to the UK to show matches in pubs and stuff at a far lesser cost. BeIn sport costs 11 euros a month in France, don't think they show many PL matches though, that's Canal + which costs about 30 euros. C+ show about 6 games most weekends but I don't know how the cost compares to Sky.
  21. No, because he hasn't won anything and really isn't all that good on many an occasion. The prize will go to some obscure cyclist or distance runner...you know who I mean.
  22. It's certainly on Canal+ Sport. Big TV afternoon, 3 games, don't think I'll be doing much DIY or tidying up my woodland where 2 foot of greasy snow on trees with autumn leaves has wreaked havoc on Sunday.
  23. Hopefully now with no more internationals until March we'll be seeing some more consistent performances from our away all the time internationals. I think 3 international breaks in 3 months of football can only produce stuttering performances from those trying to adapt to new surroundings.
  24. and that's only on his good days, if you went back and looked at every match gallery since he's been here you'll see him bear hugging players or having them in a head lock. Surprised he gets away with it most of the time. Still probably a sign of a good player that he always hides it from refs but not the multi angled cameras. Giroud is as bad, every time he disputes a 50/50 ball he always gives his opponent a firm nudge in the chest or in the back, just enough to put him off balance for a fraction of a second but usually invisible to the ref.
  25. Kids repeat everything they hear eventually, it's what they do, it's how they learn. No point in telling them not to repeat it in front of Mum or Gran or whatever because they invariably will. Only later in life when they have sufficient control mechanisms will they have the choice.
