Semantics, the question was do you think Adkins should have been sacked at all. Contrary to widely held opinion I'm not sure that MPo was actually sacked by Espanyol, I think it was more of a mutual thing, they didn't like the results, he didn't like the financial situation and they agreed to go their separate ways. Mutual consent but I guess that means sacked to most.

No I don't think so no. The FFF would sack DD and take Wenger in an instant if he ever came within their price range. We'll see what hapens when he's out of contract at Arsenal but when Blanc was removed Arsenal wanted a compensation of somewhere around 10 million and Wenger himself wants about 7 million euros a year. Being the French national coach would in theory deprive him of his TV role with TF1 but at about 200K€ per annum that's peanuts. Even so compared to the annual salary that the FFF are prepared to pay (DD gets about 1 million£ a year gross, far less than half of his salary at Marseille) everything counts.
