  1. In fact with his 67.9% pass success rate only Boruc of our entire squad is a worse passer than Lambert. Morgan is the best passer closely followed by JWP, most of the others are above 80%.
  2. He really isn't, he might have been in the past but this season he's a total liabilty more often than not. Look at last Wednesday, we had nothing at the sharp end and MPo was obliged to make a desperation substitution after about half an hour. Once we get past this Lambert is God crap we'll be a lot better off.
  3. But surely JWP must take a mean penalty? Should be able to with his dead ball ability. JRod has scored all of the penalties he's taken for us I believe although that's probably limited to a couple in the League Cup last season. I really don't think finding another pernalty taker amongst our players is going to cause a problem.
  4. you need to be far more mobile than Lambert to play "number 10", you also need a technical ability way beyond Lambert's, you just have to admit that players get older and less effective and put them out to grass gently.
  5. He's certainly handy to have at opponents corners though but JRod seems to do far more than his share of pressing opponents back 5s. It eventually knackers him for the attacking side of his game.
  6. Lambert has definitely slowed down of late, perhaps the International games were a bit too much for him and he needs a break but he best days seem to be behind him. If we got a realistic offer for him in January I think we should seriously consider it and go for someone a bit more mobile. In the meantime we should allow the JRod-Osvaldo partnership to develop at every chance.
  7. which the stats would tend to show; Osvaldo 3 goals from 8 starts and 4 sub appearances, Lambert 4 from 12 and 3, but if Osvaldo took the penalties who could say he wouldn't be on 5 goals (well hypothetically, don't think he was even here for the West Brom game).
  8. it's Portsmouth, what can you expect. A motley amateurish bunch from top to tail.
  9. A stress facture is caused by err repetitive stress, a hairline fracture is caused by an impact. Wanyama collided with Guzan and chipped a bone in his leg well according to the press anyway.
  10. not sure it's a stress facture at all, it's a hairline fracture resulting from a collision from what I've read. Don't forget that Victor has committed the most fouls in the PL.
  11. I think Lambert has really fallen away this season, bit like Holt at Norwich last season. He always looks so slow and ponderous, always looking to slow the game down to his pace, don't think he was doing that last season.
  12. all professional footballers can shoot, they wouldn't be pros if they couldn't. Doing it in the heat of the action takes some time to get right on a regular basis. Most of our players have a problem with accurate shooting in the nanoseconds available to them, it's what makes Suarez an 80 million £ player and Lallana not. If Lallana could finish like Suarez as well as his other attributes he'd be a "Ballon D'Or" winner.
  13. 50p for Gazza and 2.771999.50 £ for taking Forecast off our hands.
  14. since Coloccini has been back, yes but without Cabaye in front of the defence they'll be more exposed and as I've never rated Tioté I don't think he'll be as effective as Cabaye. Swansea took the game to them and Newcastle just got blown away and Krul was pretty awful apparently. Newcastle are a Jekyll and Hyde side.
  15. Looks like we'll have 8 or 9 games to make up our minds then, for me it depends which Cork turns up, the one from Wednesday evening or the one from Saturday afternoon. Might have been a bit rusty on Wednesday vI suppose or perhaps playing with Victor doesn't suit him that well.
  16. Tough game, 50/50 chance I'd think, depends what side we put out.
  17. Get down to Reading then, better make it quick though, he's going to be sacked soon. I know you're banned but as you have multiple user names it shouldn't much matter.
  18. Newcastle's defence sometimes looks pretty frail, JRod and Ossie might have a field day.
  19. I just don't know, it was definitely his 5th yellow of the season and @NUFCofficial seemed to think he'd be out suspended next week-end.
  20. can't blame the guy at all, it's like I said the other day, when you're a pretty crap player playing for a crap club in a crap league and someone offers you a big packet of tax free cash for a red card or a foul at a given time then you just take it and don't ask questions. Betting should be banned on low level sporting events. Still most of this stuff is SE Asia based where they still bet on dog fights and slug races.
  21. 4 in the league and it seems he got one in the league cup as well, perhaps one got rescinded somewhere along the line.
  22. Newcastle without the suspended Cabaye aren't anything much to write home about. Makes them tick and scores a lot of their goals. On his way to PSG in January so they'll take a nose dive soon. edit he's not suspended then, thought someone said he was. re-edit seems that he is, although it doesn't show up on the FA list, perhaps yesterday's yellow hasn't been counted yet.
  23. 70K£ for a red card, not bad for Pompey player really, probably got paid faster as well, tax free, not that Pompey ever both with tax.
  24. probably because we sent scouts to Rennes St Etienne the other day, I was thinking more along the lines of Hamouma or Ghoulam from that mission. Hamouma is a winger, probably far better than Pitroipa and Ghoulam is probably the best young left back in Ligue 1, highly solicited though, signing him would mean that either Shaw was on his way out or being shifted forward.
  25. we will finish probably 6th but pushing hard for the 5th place. Citeh,Arsenal,Liverpool and Chelsea will finish above us this time. Utd will be upper mid-table, Moyes wll be sacked soon and they'll get a panic manager in. Much will depend on just hw much world cup "stars" start taking it easy from about March onward, I can see all those Belgian boys going into a tail spin, must be their first world cup in a fair while, they'll all want to be there.
