  1. I think I'll wait until I've seen him get himself into open play positions where he can put in telling crosses for our front men before i decide whether he's the "best crosser in the prem". We are getting euphoric on the back of a few decent results.
  2. Basically the vast majority of occasional runners have absolutely no idea of the pace they can maintain over 10 miles. It's why races like the Great Runs are such a pain in the butt for decent but non-elite runners, you are always hampered by joggers and grans with ideas way above their station. You'll find the Gosport Half way different, time for a proper warm up and not have to spend a lot of time on the start line. You'll need to get your initial pace right though because getting a real start can bring you into contact with runners way faster than you and you'll get (unconciously) dragged into the red zone.
  3. apparently their new head of recruitment has resigned. Obviously the job wasn't big enough for him. Ah no, turns out he might not have a work visa.
  4. we need to get into the next round before any of that becomes a consideration, can't see us beating Sunderland away with the side that we'll put out really.
  5. but the 30 second limit has always stopped you from doing that, now back in the bad old days when posts could take up to a minute or two to appear on busy days, ie meltdown and match days even the 30 second limit didn't stop double posts on occasions.
  6. There was always a time limit between posts, 30 seconds I think it was, bit annoying on the match threads but it worked perfectly well.
  7. Because the club felt that it was not a place we'd earned with our football. Pochettino was quite clear that any EL place had to be won on merit and not just because we'd not got too many red and yellow cards or insulted many refs..
  8. Oh right, I can see that, but IPods, headphones,GPS devices etc are banned under IAAF competiton rules so if you were to be competing in say the AAA championship at the Londson Marathon (having previously enregisted a qualifying time of course) you could be disqualified if they see you with a GPS watch or an Ipod.
  9. their start is in fact better but against the teams they've already played so far this season they've picked up less points. Last season they had 15 points from their first 9 games,4 wins,3 draws, got beaten by Norwich and Chelsea.
  10. Anyway West Brom will take him if he's available on loan, they're always looking for everbody else's cast-offs on the cheap, by the by what has happened to scott sinclair, does he actually get a game or is he injured ?
  11. The Health Service, Peter Principle at it's finest.
  12. Welcome to the official head against the wall bangers then, won't do any good, they'll just get all uppity and claim their right to express themselves as they see fit.
  13. what are these strange "updated" double posts all about then, is that a new feature or just some f*cked up code ?
  14. Of course we would take up a place in the EL that we had earned, not to do so would be stupid and pretentious.
  15. Highly likely, Artur saves 88% of the shots so in theory 12% equals the 3 goals we've conceded so that would mean we've only had about 25 shots on target against us ( not blocked by our players I suppose) in our 9 games this season.
  16. 6 points on a licence he doesn't in fact have, what is the point of that really ? Unless of course he's passed his test since then and got a real licence.
  17. depends why he isn't getting into their side. If he's crap we certainly don't need him and if he's been a knob ...well we don't need him either.
  18. Depends who came knocking on the door really. The lads seem to like playing for us but I really doubt if many would turn down a move to Arsenal,Chelsea,Citeh or Real (not that I think any of those will come calling mind you).
  19. good point, that would in fact mean that against the 9 opponents they've had so far they won them all those games last season. Whereas this season they got beaten at home by Villa and only drew with West Brom away. The test for the Arse will be when they get their usual mid-season injury crisis as they would seem to have tougher opponents mid term this season.
  20. On the Ipod etc stuff. According to IAAF rules (under which these big events are usually run) all forms of electronic devices and aids are banned in competitive events, they're not going to turf you out if you're mid-pack though because then they'd have to start implementing rules on advertising on clothng, not having a Nike top and Adidas shorts (or similar) and out of zone refreshments which are all of course banned under real IAAF rules. My girl is a (fairly) top runner and she always trains with an IPod but you need to watch out when crossing roads and stuff.
  21. Well you'd have to surmise that the earlier "sighting" was supposed to be one of their Tapas friends so they'd give it more weight than that of an unknown.
  22. but after the 1st 9 games last season QPR actually had less points than Palace do today. 3 for QPR and 4 for Palace, mind you QPR had had some pretty rough fixtures by then last season, Citeh,Chelsea etc; They'd not won a single game in 9 which is why Hughes got sacked I guess. So there are 2 ways of looking at it from Palace's point of view, either they're roughly the same as QPR and are bound to go back down or that they have the same number of points as we did from 10 games last season and we stayed up.
  23. A half is only 5k more than 10 miles, the fact that you could up your pace at the end tends to indicate that you still had something left in the tank so what you could do should you fancy the gosprt half is take in fairly easily through to say 3 miles, put in a good shift at something like your GSR pace through to about 11 miles and then ease home or push on depending how it's going for you at that point. Never run the Gosport half myself but I did run a couple of Pompey halves (when they had that March time I think) and for sure the ambiance and hence the stress at the start will be far less. There used to be a 10K around Poole park at Christmas time and then you have all the Turkey trots and what have yous. Anyway here's the Hampshire AA calendar, might be worth looking for the other local calendars as well. http://www.hampshireathletics.org.uk/events/calendar.html
  24. we'll be in black right ? Couple of awesome performances with that shirt already.
  25. Ah but we still have Cardiff (ie wigan) at home to catch up a few points should we not win those 3, you could say that WBA won't tonk us at home either on this year's form so that's more points we can make up fairly easily, idem norwich at home unless we play Gazza to gift them a goal or two that is. Just last year's form plus our good start plus those 3 games would see us on somewhere around 60+ points wthout improving on results like Sunderland and Fulham away.
