  1. if we can't get this Hughes fella out our season will come to a grinding halt, probably one of the most disappointing for a few years. Although it may cause the management to reflect on the positive aspects of having decent bowlers. Griffiths what a knob, 9 ball over just gone for 14
  2. what rejoin the man responsable for promising him Premier League football and then ditching him when we got there ? Yeah right. Aren't Celtic supposed to be signing him any day now ?
  3. I can well see Utd offering 86 million and PSG as well. Or Utd proposing to let them have Rooney and about 50 million.
  4. we seem to have made a serious start, 58/1 off 8.5 isn't so dusty. Carberry the man out for 20. Vince going well, Adams holding his end up as per usual. edit Snail Adams now slowing scoring rate drastically, we've only made about 5 off of 3 overs.
  5. Think we might start Osvaldo and Ramirez actually, they need the match time and destroying Barnsley will boost their confidence.
  6. so we pull a key player off injured at half time on Saturday and then send him out in a Capital cup game at Barnsley. Midfield will be Cork and JWP (or even Davis)
  7. I see the reasoning here but just because JWP coped in CM against Sunderland there's no guarantee as yet that he could do it so well against a team that come looking for us. Couldn't see that much of a defensive role was required on Saturday and as we know Cork is good at defending. Thus don't think we'll be letting him go this window unless he actually asks for a move.
  8. but they lost 6-0 last week.
  9. post 200 seems to indicate that. How good the poster's knowledge is I couldn't say.
  10. Citeh had a bloke on the post today, didn't make one iota of difference when Campbell scored fron a corner. What we should be looking at is the failure of the 3 kids to pick up their man systematically at corners. Perhaps it's something that comes with experience.
  11. always is, despite the 100 million or whatever it is spent on the Spanish Armada they're still vunerable if one defender is missing. Touré needs to be put out to grass, looks slower than ever and doesn't get forward any more.
  12. I think i have explained to you all once before that the end of your sporting career at high levels ,whether enforced or just because of the passage of time can lead to very deep depression.
  13. well I don't know some of Reading's fans, ok 1 then, bloke I was at Uni with, says he left their best striker on the bench and that his tactics aren't all that good. NB any bars down your way ever show saints, might be down that way next Saturday. Still Norwich-Saints can't see that being a big draw for your average Heraultais. Stream it will be then at least there's decent broadband at UM2
  14. Osvaldo will really have to watch it because yesterday he was a kindly(or useless) ref away from being sent off in his home debut. Probably trying too hard thus excusable. If the ref hadn't accorded a second chance to Gardner a few minutes earlier on I think Osvaldo might have gone. Watched the game twice, not all that enthusiastic about our performance, we seem so wasteful.
  15. for the time being advantage McDermott..still Reading have Yeovil next before the 2 matches that will decide Adkins immediate future. Both home, Leeds and Brighton. A home defeat against the side managed by the man he replaced would about topple the pile i think.
  16. one more defeat and he's probably gone...a truly average manager..popular but average.
  17. Well I would have just gone in anyway, saved a whole lot of problems. Surely a young man can handle one night short on sleep.
  18. a win on Saturday and then exactly the same season as the last for everyone would put us in 8th place at the end of the season. Still far off the European places of course.
  19. but if you're losing and are desperate to get outside help...there that makes some sort of sense.
  20. even if it was 20p it was too much. Not good enough for Citeh=not good enough for us
  21. certainly no confirmation of that in France just yet, if claude Anelka had in fact died it would be all over L'Equipe and it isn't as yet. Probably WBA trying to save face that their star signing has in fact blown them out cos they're crap.
  22. Championship hotshot ? well we'll see if he can make the step up, may have to now though. WBA are my surprise for a relegation spot this season. Sh*t manager, sh*t team no Lukaku yep they could well go down. Think their late season form was pretty abysmal last year and if they hadn't had that flying start they could have been in serious trouble.
  23. doesn't say anything about that in L'Equipe, just says he's jacked it in for the time being. Mind you WBA are dire so you could understand that. Anelka certainly doesn't need the money just now. He'll be back at some obscure French club soon, just like Steed Malbranque last season. signed for St Etienne but really didn't fancy them and jacked it all in, turned out for Lyon a few months later.
  24. thought he was a bit transparent myself, passing wasn't all that great and he wins little in the air. Not the sort of player Wenger would want. Wenger's shopping list goes something like this for midfielders 1-Schneiderlin great, experienced PL DM now and in theory not all that expensive 2-Illaramendi thought about 15 million would get the job done. 3 Gonalons but there are no cheapies at Lyon 4 Pogba... get outta here 5 Cabaye we'll see but PSG is more likely 6 Kondogbia.. might be available but he's green as flip and awfully undisciplined FFF world's number 6 factory .
  25. Ramirez has never been a prolific goalscorer, 1 in about 4 or 5 games. He's blighted by the weight of expectation and I feel sure that we'll see far more from him with an agile and instinctive striker in front of him. Anyone got any stats on how many critical passes he made that were then squandered by our front men?
