  1. I certainly am not, I"m saying the arab community has to sort out it's own problems. Then again as they're divided into numerous sub types of religion it won't happen any time soon.
  2. when they feel inclined to do so, just needs to come too close to Israel, then it will be stopped....permanently. Can't see what it is to do with us anyway. It's an inter-arab problem and they need to learn to settle their differences in their own way. I mean we could go down there, lob a few cruise missiles at them and the "others" would be in control. Then they'd start again as has happened in Egypt because it's a violent and unsettled part of the globe. Only an inter-arab solution will be of any use and as they don't have much idea on democracy as yet it's going to take a while. I'd not know if I was right but I'd think the daily death toll in Iraq can't be far off that of Syria.
  3. well yes but "Isn't it coincidental" wouldn't have been half as catchy.
  4. let their neighbours sort it out for once. The Arab spring has gone tits up all round mainly because it was an "artificial" event.
  5. don't see that he had much of a role with us this season anyway. Good player of course but we are determined to establish a pathway for our young lads (well those that merit their place anyway) and we've seemingly decided that JWP can do a similar or better job than JP. JWP puts in some nice balls and when you've just spent a shedload on Osvaldo that's not a bad attribute.
  6. Adkins lost at home to Sunderland, probably what sealed his demise. He was on borrowed time for a fair while. His handling of the GK situation was poor, very poor and such mistakes cannot be tolerated in an ambitious club. In fact the writing was on the wall for him when he decided that KD was a PL keeper and that we needed no top class replacement. .
  7. doesn't JRod usually go left ?
  8. Wenger does want ball winners, trouble is all the effective ones cost more than he has in his piggy bank. He wanted Morgan,Gonalons,Bernard,Illaramendi among others, now its Pogba but none of them can be had for his estimate of their value and he's desperate to keep 35 million in reserve for a striker (which he probably doesn't need anyway) . You can't buy a real ball winner for much less that 18/20 mill nowadays and he's looking at the 10/12 million range.Serves him right for wasting all that money on AOC.
  9. fans loved him at Saints, chairman wasn't as convinced though. Fans quite liked McDermott I think, chairman? not so much. If he doesn't get the desired results it doesn't matter what the fans think, if they're not there or thereabouts at the end of the year he'll get the boot and Poyet will be in there like a flash.
  10. might as well wait until he gets sacked by Reading, do both cases at the same time.
  11. 262 it is then, seem to have made a solid start but whether the untested openers can pick up the pace to the required level remains to be seen.
  12. They wanted the player at all cost so they have to pay the price. Don't doubt that they've got plenty of players on iffy contracts. Can't seem to get players otherwise, then again as it's probably universally known in football that Arsenal do not conduct transfers particularly well everyone takes them for a ride. Look at their bid for Suarez 40million £ +1£, was supposed to trigger the release cluse but as usual they're ill-informed. Wouldn't have happened when David Dein was chairman or Hill-Wood.
  13. Scottish football is rubbish, Celtic are the alpha dog and don't have to make much effort to win nearly every week. I will be closely watching Wanyama's consistency when the tough matches start rolling in week in week out. Still we have the coaching team to correct any slacking off in his performances and as he's a young player there shouldn't be too much problem. Hooper on the other hand...if he scores 5 against good defences he'll do well..
  14. Season long loan ? Probably no recall option because they'll have paid us a fee as likely as not.
  15. why ? they'll probably have to pay us. We have more than enough players to fulfill our needs.
  16. probably too good for our bench, well in his opinion anyway.
  17. wtf, no respect for history then
  18. still 6+ an over though.
  19. well be looking at 250+, if we're lucky, if not 300.
  20. Marty Feldman...football sketch now there's one that wouldn't be politically correct today. Trouble is you just can't call a spade a spade any more. Free speech yes but only if it doesn't (or might theoretically) offend anyone in the whole wide world;
  21. he'll be in the crapper then....Mells I mean, probably loaned out to the Clump Inn before long
  22. or 4th or 5th. No team is nailed on for anything, except Citeh, they'll be top unless Kompany and Nastasic get long term injuries. After that Chelsea and Utd will scrap it out for 2nd and 3rd. Spurs may finish above Liverpool or they may not. If we convert half of the chances that we muffed woefully last season we may be somewhere in the top 6 or 8. Spurs defence didn't look all that all that against Palace the other day.
  23. depends if they can score as many match winning goals as Bale did all by himself. Seem to remember that if you took away his goals they got relegated or something like that.
  24. we don't want to win then !!
  25. well as he's out for 4 months or so we won't be getting any more money any time soon
