  1. and has he fully recovered from his cruciate ligament injury or are we just providing rehab with our excellent medical and sports science facilities?
  2. Onouha played last night, pretty tidily actually.
  3. why would a Barcelona reserve player be wishful thinking for us exactly ?
  4. perhaps one of them is better at CB than anything they have in reserve, I don't know and neither do you I suspect. Harry's the manager he plays who he sees fit. They got a good result so who are we to criticise his schemas and selections. If they'd have got the penalty that Dowd chickened out of they'd probably have won.
  5. I don't think they have any CB replacements actually, perhaps either Green or Murphy can do a job at CB, without knowing the real situation you just can't say.
  6. Can't see what difference putting 2 keepers on the bench makes myself. 7 subs you can only use 3 so 4 are there to make up the numbers anyway.
  7. wouldn't be if they hadn't had an idiot managing them for 15 games or so. Can't even use the lack of experience excuse for him either.
  8. we started the season with an inadequate team, the style of football has very little to do with our results in those matches. Fox,Davis,Davis,Jos in the starting line up is what did for us. Plus of course some very strange substitutions.
  9. Agreed it was rubbish. Then again I thought Mayuka was rubbish, Zambia were rubbish, Burkina Faso defended well enough because it's all they needed to do and grosso modo the whole competition is rubbish. Poor refs, players playing well below their standard and very little public in the grounds. Once every 4 years should be enough for this "triste spectacle". 3 times in 4 years is just far too often.
  10. Looks like the Norwegian press is wrong http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11681/8391860/Fulham-boss-Martin-Jol-still-hopes-Brede-Hangeland-signs-a-new-contract
  11. Dear Itchenblock 4 real men do not express their interest in young ladies by texting them, they man up and telephone or ask them face to face. If you had called her in the first place you would not have wasted any time. Faint heart never fair lady won is an old expression which can be applied to your situation. Aunty Windows. Aside to the rest of you: See told you i'd done this before. Now throw those PMT,bra-stuffing and boyfriend with a small **** questions at me.
  12. Agent delirium once again.
  13. not really no.
  14. Fellaini is an offensive player (in more sense than one), if you sign someone like him he'd have to be better than Punch, Gaston and Adam. As long as you CMs recover the ball, relay it forward however you've asked them to and protect the defence they're doing their job. There are few players of this type better than Morgan and Jack so you need to be careful what you sign. In fact were I to believe that we were genuinely looking at CMs then I'd think one of ours was on his way out.
  15. perhaps they were initially talking about something else, a transfer perhaps.
  16. I think NA learnt his lesson from the AP situation because let's face it, the "Wilkins era" was a total disaster.
  17. about 16K a week in the NPC, 800K per annum, think it was for 2 and a half years. Was on his website I think, something like that. Probably a whole lot more than some of our "star" players at that time. Probably at least twice what Morgan or Fonte were getting for about a quarter of the end product.
  18. Well of course he did, he was on borrowed time from the day we lost at home to Sunderland if not sooner. The preparation for that game was obviously insufficient given that we'd had about 2 free weeks leading up to it. Not to mention his scandalously bad handling of the keeper situation leading to points being lost where they'd had already been won.
  19. The problem for Lee is not playing. He probably wants to be part of the Japan set up for the next WC but if he's not playing he won't get a look in with them because they have some decent players (but not Havenaar who replaced him). Suspect he's pretty miffed about the whole situation with us tbh. If he thinks the new manager will treat him as badly as the last one then he'll ask for a move sooner than later. New Japanese season starts in about March I think so I'd expect the situation to become clearer before then. Gives us a bit of time yet though.
  20. Chelsea already have Thibault Courtois in reserve, a player who actually performs at a high level week in, week out. When they're ready to pension off Cech Courtois will replace him. Butland's agent obviously doesn't have much imagination. He'll end up at Villa or something like that.
  21. De Ridder was in front of him on the bench, we now have a new manager and coaches more likely to appreciate the technicality of players. Think we'll see a lot of changes in style although maybe it will take a while. De Ridder is a headless chicken, runs around a lot but very little end product at present.
  22. I gave up watching Adkins' pre-match press interviews in the end, heard one heard them all; A total non-entity information wise.
  23. Perhaps they'll all fall about laughing and we can stick them for 3 or 4 goals whilst they're doing that.
  24. Once again a total non-comprehension of the contract and transfer system. As far as I know Hangeland is out of contract in June, that means that if Fulham want to "sell" him it has to be in the next few days unless he goes to Russia or Japan or the US where the window is slightly different. If his contract runs out at Fulham and he doesn't want to renegociate a new one he just walks away free to sign wherever he wants. He won't be worth 10 million because he has just a few months of contract to fulfill. As I see it he's keeping his options open but one of them won't be signing with Saints.
  25. Think we need to wait and see what Pochettino and his coaching staff can get out of all of our players. Still not convinced that the Adkins,Crosby,Wilkins combo got all that much extra out of some of the players. Think on the coaching side they were out of their depth, mainly because they hadn't enough experience with the quality of player they were asked to coach.
