Negative camber or downhill as most of us know it can induce a sort of euphoria and a totally false pace. Thing is when you're running it's not like riding a bike where you can freewheel so your legs still have to turn over and you can easily get yourself into the "red" without even noticing it until it's too late of course. Blowing up is a direct result of being in the "red" you just crack up because you've over-extended yourself, some call it the wall but that's something different which is based on type of "carburant" you can physically stock. There should be no "wall" in a half marathon but if you've over extended yourself early on you'll probably "blow up" because you've used up too much glucide energy and not enough fat and protein energy all the same. The correct pace for a half-marathon should be somewhere around 82/85% of your maximum aerobic speed(roughly your flat out 5K speed). At that pace you're using glucides and fats/proteins all of the time, as you go towards 100% VMA you're more and more reliant on pure glucide energy (and tri-phosphates but that's another story which only applies to short distances). Then there's the lactate build up to consider. Anaerobic running (oxygen debt) leads to lactic acid build up in the muscles and they will eventually seize up.

I don't think they're in a false position at all. They're where they are because injuries have caused them to use some players who are not really of PL standard and they have of course paid the price for that. Not all all sure that all they've bought in of late is of the necessary standard either, certainly not Haidaira and Gouffran is a mixed bag, totally hit and miss.

Without wanting to sound knobbish I really can't see that it matters at 2+ hours for a half-marathon. I'd just run say 9/10 miles at your race pace minus 1 kph this Saturday and then just tick over afterwards. If you're short on the race distance you need to be careful to get your pace right at the start and through about 8 miles at least because if not you risk "blowing up" especially on a course with negative altitude change.

All of the above who are out of contract will probably leave but some of them still have another year so they may be on loan or still hanging around. Wouldn't think that any much more than half will leave definitively in the summer .

Romania is a NATO nation so they might think they're still running a couple of RN tubs so you might well be at home. -

not to put too fine a point on it but Romania has serious problems with organised crime so the UKIP might well be right in it's assertions. Whether it can by attributed to migrant Romanians is something else completely. I know we have had a serious ministerial enquiry in France and the result was not let's say very flattering for Romania and it's nationals. you just need to look for data on organised credit card fraud and in particular automatic teller fraud. Most of it has been traced back to just 1 small town in Romania. -
someone from elsewhere who your average UK fan hasn't heard of, you know like Pochettino or Laudrup. If Wigan should go down Martinez will be on top of many wanted lists as well. Then again I'm not a big big Adkins fan because I still maintain that he inherited the nucleus of our side from the Pardew era, a nucleus that would be difficult to buy..

Except that their owner actually has money. -

We shall see then, they have a fair few players who could do a good job elsewhere, I'd expect there to be plenty of takers for Hoilett,Mbia and Granero if the price was right, not to mention Julio Cesar. They'll be left with the nucleus of a Championship side. -

That will depend largely on what level the parachute payments are fixed under the new TV deal. I've seen as much as 25 million for next season plus the solidarity payment. QPR will offload a lot of players as well. -

They're not that good, then again neither are most of the others, don't see why they should lose Le Fondre and Kebe really, no more chance of losing key players than any other side. They've Villa,Wigan and QPR at home (and us but they'll not win that) defeating all of those 3 will see them as good as safe. For me it's QPR, Wigan and 1 other from 5 or 6 teams unless Wigan beat Reading at The Madj.... in their next league game.. -

I don't know about Reading 7 of their last 12 matches are against bottom half teams. If they can win 4 of those they'll go a long way toward survival. I still see Fulham and Norwich spiralling downwards. -
Think he's retiring in June anyway. Still think Leeds will go for a bigger name than Adkins.
-
That will depend what was in his contract or what had been subsequently agreed. When an employer terminates a fixed term contract he is normally liable to pay it up to it's full extent unless it's been agreed otherwise. We don't know the details for early termination so just can't speculate on what will happen. Plenty of managers have been sacked by a club and obtained full payment even if they've got a new job a few days afterwards. Adkins had a contract until 2015, normally the club owes him for all of it. It cost us over a million to sack Pardew even though he only had a year and a bit on his contract.

I confidently predict that next years superbowl NFC team will be playing in the Eagles first home game of the season and the Eagles first away game of the season In fact in all of the Iggles games next season.
-
I still have my doubts about him as a top class manager. Leeds just don't have the nucleus that Nigel inherited from Pardew and it would be nigh on impossible to buy it. He could buy players that are good but would he find at least 5 players who are capable of stepping up their game to a new level every time it's asked of them ? Clubs coming down from the PL this season may be getting whacking great does of PPs and to me they'll be among the favourites for promotion again.

probably becaue the team in 17th place has got better results since then though. HR seems to have obtained 13 points from 13 games so they must have had just 4 from the 13 games that Hughes was in charge. We also had 4 from 10 but we've got a lot better results since then. Our excuse was that we had some pretty hard games but I doubt if the same could be applied to QPR's start to the season. HR's record of a point a game might be enough to keep a side up if applied throughout the season but to obtain at least 35 points from 25 games was always going to be a tall order with a lot of the better sides still to play. -
Marmite isn't a meat extract, it's vegetable and yeast based. I like horse anyway so i wouldn't mind some of those gee-gee lasagnes if they're giving them away . Bet they're not allowed to give them to the Restos du Coeur or Secours Populaire though. What a waste.

Incredible the way Liverpool just fell apart after their missed penalty. Mind you having an old donkey like Carragher in central defence can't possibly help. Rodgers has got that all wrong.
-
He'll only get the Villa job if they go down. They won't get fooled again, if they stay up they'll either keep Lambert or get an experienced manager in, I'm thinking Martinez cos if Villa stay up Wigan will go down..Under those circumstances I could see Adkins at Wigan though.
-
I think that would depend on the standard of "acceptable fitness" in the Norwegian Leagues. They play relatively few games I think and their season goes from spring to fall or similar. We have what a 2 month break in the summer and then a 6 week or so build up period to the season so he might not be quite ready as yet.
-
strangely strange tidbit here. When Coutinho came on for Liverpool yesterday evening the Canal+ summariser said that we also wanted him but only offered to take him on loan with an option. Where they get this stuff from I just don't know but as he has French agents I wouldn't be at all surprised if it wasn't from source.

Do we think MO PO will get the best out of Gaston ?
Window Cleaner replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
Right now I wouldn't forgo either Davis or JRod for Gaston, Gaston might do some nice things from time to time but those 2 are a constant threat to the opposition. For me just now Gaston and Adam will just have to bide their time and do all that's asked of them for 25/30 minutes a game. Neither of them has the 90 minute long intensity required to start just now. JRod is a front man and is always looking to get into the box, Rickie automatically drops off when he does that and it works really well, I'd say SRL is a better hole player than Gaston just now.
