  1. I think most people in football just see us as bottom grubbers ad infinitum, few internationals, no household names. Doubt if Mancini has ever heard of half of our players. Trouble is they're totally wrong, we are near th bottom because of our awful start but our last 16 results would put us easily in the top half, somewhere between Everton and Swansea..
  2. he might well be, there's a poster on this forum who's son is part of the first team set up at West Ham, I thought it was the The Gaffer but I could be wrong, you'd have to go back through his posts because he mentions it often enough (if it is indeed he)
  3. his dad posts on here or used to anyway. The Gaffer ?
  4. In his pre-Wigan interview he said. "Things are a bit clearer for me just now. It’s very important for the goalkeeper to have confidence from the gaffer. which says to me that Adkins didn't accord him his confidence.
  5. who needs a first team performance analyst anyway, just another snout in the trough. Since the change of manager it's pretty evident that the players are capable of more than they were before so everything connected with the old regime should be swept out.
  6. not all Chapel Stand's fault. Incident could easily have been swept under the rug, bit of a fine, a mea maxima culpa, in goal the week afterwards again. I don't think the manager wanted to do that, same as with the initial Pucheon/Crosby affair. If you look at Boruc's interview on the OS last week he says that from the start it was "complicated".
  7. I thought Jos looked like he'd gained a weeny bit of awareness and even half a yard of pace on Saturday. New coaching team and system might be making an even better player of him. Most players have a little hidden extra in them, it's up to the coaches to find it and exploit it. As I've said many times I really don't think that our former coaches were up to PL standard players. The players might have the standard in them but the coaches weren't good enough. same old routines time after time just made the players platform out.
  8. they probably just want to keep him so the figure has to be totally unrealistic. Doubt that it happened anyway. There are probably better players available for less, like Younes Belhanda for 8 million euros. Just can't believe that the young bloke I saw at PSG could be worth anywhere near that sum now. NB If you believe all you read this bloke has a 20 million € release clause and has been linked to every rich mega spending club in Europe in the last year or so. Agent with an over active imagination and unfillable pockets is the most likely source of this "rumour". Same agent as Coutinho, there you go, transfermarkt lists his value as somewhere around 7 million £
  9. Dalek is a trolling non-entity, he just posts stuff to make people bite. If we won the Champions League he'd be posting about being knocked out of the League Cup by Barnet or something.
  10. We signed a Dale Stephens from Oldham at the end of our league 1 promotion campaign, why some even told me he was the real deal, better than Morgan and should be signed up instantly.
  11. just until we sign Brian Howard then.Anyway we already have 2 forward sweepers, sweep up everything from the edge of our box to the edge of the opposition box.
  12. Not totally surprised that Spanghero is involved though, that's 2 of the 4 rugby playing brothers isn't it ?
  13. failing that you can always make them up anyway.
  14. don't think he actually played for us, Villa were p*ssed off about that. Maybe a few minutes run out but seemed only to be here to drum up interest for an U21 international that was played at SMS .
  15. Franco/Moroccan played in the youth teams at PSG. Seems a lot of money to me but I haven't much idea of what he's done since he left PSG.
  16. I think they're in Russia or Ukraine or something on the Thursday before, don't know how seriously they're going to take that though, depends on the first leg I expect. Not sure that all of their new players are qualified for the Europa League though, Debuchy would have played in Europe with Lille already but I'm not sure about the rest.
  17. he's not the first to resign so there must be a proceedure, hasn't happened for a while though.
  18. Barry comes from a fair way back, must have put in a bit of an effort to get there and may not really know where he is, still he can see the goal I guess and in theory should have put it wide. But if you look closely just until the instant where he plays the ball he has his head turned to the left and he's not looking towards the goal. He knows that if he doesn't do something JRod will just tap it in so leaving it alone isn't an option but not looking where he's going is a fatal error..
  19. Football's moved on since then, Strachan's team wouldn't be good enough for the PL today.
  20. Apart from Bale Spurs had nothing at all. Lennon ran down blind alleys all afternoon and Dempsey is dire. Just how Spurs are in the top 4 is really difficult to work out. Well I guess it isn't ...Bale, Defoe and a decent keeper.
  21. I know a coach who worked at Lens in their heyday; They had a lot of Africans (sold most of them to Pompey) at that time and he told me that the trouble with the ACON is that the players get into the African rhythm and come back fat, slow and lazy. Took them most of the rest of the season to re-adapt after 3 or 4 weeks down there. We saw this with Touré yesterday, no pace, no intensity in his game.
  22. don't worry, they'll realise that they also are crap any minute now and the game will fade into a bore draw....hopefully
  23. CoC what's that then Connaisseurs of Crap (management) ?
