Anyway 1 match suspensions for 5 cards are an occupational hazard for CMs and CBs. Most of them have already had or are about to serve a suspension of some kind. NA always talks about having players disposed to replace injuries and suspensions. 5 before end December or 7 before February doesn't make much difference, most players with a bit of the much desired "bite" will get one anyway. Should avoid dragging it out because it affects performance.

not to mention yesterday, as I said in the Adkins thread we should be on 22 points now and the fact that we aren't is down to just 3 absolutely avoidable keeper errors. The Premier League is a harsh mistress

NA must be desperately concerned about his very position being undermined by keeper error after keeper error. At this moment and without doing anything apart from stopping the stoppable as he would say we should be on 22 points and comfortably installed mid-table instead of hovering over the relegation zone with a pile of sh*tty away fixtures stacking up.

Why should you not expect them to be suspended. Any player on 4 cards and a sort of "local derby" is a prime candidate for a card and thus a suspension. In my view we don't get enough cards, not that we should actively seek them out but we seem to do too much to avoid them. Don't like that.

How do you know we looked at Biyik ? Not that he's good enough for the PL mind you.

Something I thought i'd just mention here. Yesterday on my TV view Adkins seemed to be taking advice from Wilkins a few times. I don't like that because I think Wilkins is the epitomy of uselessness. Adkins should rely on his own judgement.

Indeed they are, still sort of convinced we should have persisted with Boruc myself but whether that would have made any much difference I just could not say. Many among us like to point out jus how well Swansea and Norwich did last season but both of those managers made sure that they had a decent keeper, Norwich already had the excellent Ruddy and Swansea got Vorm. Idem West Ham this season.

TBH the recruitment leaves much to be desired although I think the only blame that can be apportioned to Adkins over that is failure to impose himself over people who seem to know decidedly little about football.

Davis didn't spill it, he just failed to cut out an easy (looking) cross because he didn't read the trajectory correctly and was short. This is his problem, reading ball trajectories and velocities. He's probably so used to the old balls that no matter how he tries he can't get to grips with these new types.He just got a hand sort of half on it but not enough to cut it out or turn it away. Gazza might have got there, him being bigger and quicker to drop down, he'd have probably have f*cked up on something else though.

But playing well with the odd clanger per match is not acceptable. We are in the best league in the world with many of the worlds best players. If you palm a ball out in front of Berbatov or Van Persie they're going to put it into the net instinctively Those guys are on what 100/150K a week, they don't get that for missing keeper's gifts. The number voting for Cork surprises me, industrious but not much end product,few interceptions and even less tackles. I looked at the FA disciplinary lists.Shawcross and Cameron were on the 4 card list but obviously the FA hadn't had yesterday's match report by then,so in theory they're both on 5 and out on Saturday
