  1. Hit hard, rising, unless Schwarzer got something on top of the ball it would probably go in somehow. These balls are light and easily deflected, take a lot of stopping though when hit that hard from close range. With the old balls keepers used to catch them most of the time, with these new ones keepers tend to punch them sideways whenever in doubt. Saw Mignolet doing it all the time, never in front, always to the side.
  2. some little typos probably due to high C2H5OH levels.
  3. wooooooh ooooh wooooooh oooh woooooh oooh. Sound the sirens, run for the shelters..
  4. Cameron as well I think, that should shake them up a bit, up to us to get at them early in case they have adjustment problems.
  5. no,no,no and no. Yoshida doesn't struggle in the air and Jos isn't premier league standard on what we've seen so far. Yoshida was amongst our best players yesterday.
  6. probably just a few isolated realists who don't live in the past, the rest of the realists just don't turn up any more.
  7. Can they afford him ?
  8. yes seems that way
  9. Boruc is probably on very little money (relatively) and is happy enough to train with our group and be in a better condition to get himself a good contract in January.
  10. no Morgan and Jos both have cards for fouls but Jos has been dropped and Morgan's been told to cut it out obviously even though it makes his game less solid. CMs get cards, most have been suspended already either for 5 yellows or a red. Since Wilshere has been back the Arse have had cards shovelled on them, he gets one most games I think, then again they'e probably not thinking of qualifying for Europe on fair play.
  11. As we now have less cards than Arsenal we should have made up the minute difference on points per game. I am sure that we're going for this because we haven't had a card since err Lallana for diving ?
  12. and we would be if we had a keeper worthy of the name. You just cannot overcome that handicap on a continual basis. No matter what the 10 outfield players do we're only ever as good as our goalkeeper. Keepers have cost us a shedload by not making simple saves in an adequate fashion. It was a priority last summer, we didn't get it right because we were over loyal.
  13. to be honest if a few month's contract with Pompey is the best most of them could get then they'll not get much else. Pompey just need to be wound up and have done with 3 or 4 years of just making the situation worse.
  14. now let's see: Fellaini,Arteta,Gerard,Sandro and Diamé are rated a weeny bit higher than Morgan. Which one do ou fancy paying 20 million for seeing that Diamé is out injured for a longish while.. What we need is players to provide movement in front of them and a striker who can err well strike on the ground.
  15. And what if we keep the ball on the ground and not play into their schema of things ? We have players with exceptional ability on the deck; just why we want to go punting the ball diagonally into their box I don't really know. We will keep on doing it until we drop Lambert and replace him with someone with a bit of a brain and some legs.
  16. Cork lost the ball where he shouldn't have and Shaw was way too far forward. Davis should still have cut the cross out though. As for RL, are ay big hunks still scoring goals in the PL ?
  17. I would go all bold and start young Hoskins, we won't do that though.
  18. They'll go for Roy Keane methinks. See tha Berg has been sacked from Blackburn as well. Thing is owners expect far more for their vast sums of money than they get and that's because many of the players who demand vast sums of money just aren't all that good. Yer average UK man's appraisal of a "decent footballer" is way way off more often than not.
  19. Players are obviously under instructions not to get cards.Pulling out of tackles that they would have gone for in the first 10 games or so. Cork for one needs to stick some more tackles in. Hope it's not affecting our overall game.
  20. As I have said since the first day of the season. We should be 6 points better off now, without better performances from anyone other than our goalkeepers.
  21. Shaw isn't the finished article, way out of position for their goal and slow to get back. After that he seemed to be intent on making amends all by himself and produced some long, mazy forward runs but Fulham managed to shepherd him down a blind alley each time. Good prospect, still think he'll be replaced (for the time being) in January though.
  22. if administratively possible before 5.30 pm next Tuesday. Cos if not we'll play Davis again and Arsenal will just slam in shots from 20 out all afternoon and we'll ship a shedload.
  23. Hmmm having looked through the entire thread I can't quite see what some posters are looking for when they watch Saints. Perhaps it's their position in the ground that leads them to say we were poor or no-one passed forward. Having the benefit of TV and a recording to re-watch I'd say just as I did immediately after the game: we played pretty well, moved the ball around well, found players open with most of our passes and were solid in defence. We have a disturbingly poor keeper and are toothless in the last 25 yards though. A decent keeper and someone like Defoe on point and we'd have probably run out winners by at least a couple.
