First competitive game at Anfield for most of our players and staff I expect. Wonder if it might not have been on their minds on Wednesday. both of my kids did Latin in their respective high schools, greek as well. You see it gets you bonus points for the baccalaureat, lets you slack in crap like philosophy. Because extra subjects like Greek and Latin don't count unless you get a better than average mark. Win win situation. As you get extra grant(or even a grant at all because the extra you get anyway even if your parents are well off) for a "très bien mention" and Latin and Greek are easy points it makes sense,even if you don't give a toss about those subjects. I had my Virgil out to help them, took me back to old Colebourne's classes in the dead of winter at Taunton's, aimlessly staring out over the playing fields watching the football games.

In fact you can see the difference between this season and last. We are just not tackling very much any more. It's obviously something that the coaches have imposed on the players, no tackling unless it's absolutely necessary. Morgan is about the only player in our side who puts in what is to me an acceptable number of tackles per game and then some. New look pansy football à la Platini. Any of our old heroes would have probably lasted less than 5 minutes per game before being shown a red card.

I can't, don't think Nigel wanted him here and doubt that he'll play for us again. Expect Gazza to be in goal again at Anfield or if he's blotted his copybook one time too many for the immediate future then Davis.

Gazza was at fault for QPR's goal to bring them back to 2-1 and thus gave us some dodgy minutes. The boy is a bust, get over it.

Agreed, with goals so hard to come by in the PL you just can't give opponents freebies when you've worked so hard to get yours. We have 4 points less than we should have because our keeper just isn't good enough and that's without looking at anything pre-Gazza. It's the difference between nearly mid table and scrubbing about in the bottom 3. that's a vast amount of money at the end of the day and a lot of destructive anti-morale for the players.
