because it was undoable in the circumstances. As Lowe was being a knob HR had to find players in a hurry who would deliver their all on short terms contracts. Football doesn't work that way.

In fact whilst not dissing Lambert it might be good to see what JRod could do without having the extra pressure of replacing a dropped Lambert. Lallana you can shuffle the midfield around a bit and Ramirez hasn't played enough games to be unreplaceable although a system change might be required again..

I'd put them all in the replaceable category. For me Morgan,Corky,José,Clyne and Yoshi are in the other category.

key player or easily replaced? come on you old tease.
-
ah, all his strong points then.
-
for what ???

why wait until Friday though? Perhaps a timely bet on RDM getting sacked helped set off the cost of sacking Hughes
-
he is indeed
-
Expect he's like me then, still pretty hacked off about it because we'd be out of the relagation zone now. Hope he fined the 2 of them a couple of K each.

kit man, water carrier, dressing room barmaid ??

I was very angry at the players for not winning the game as well, well 9 of the players won the game, 2 threw it away.

Yellow cards are an occupational hazard for CMs I'm afraid. There's a shedload of players on 4, a lot of them are CMs, including Delph,Morgan,Scholes,Noble etc. I'd be more worried if we weren't getting cards in midfield.

Didn't the same thing happen in an Arsenal Cup game against Sheff U perhaps. Instead of the ball being given back to Sheffield Utd Kanu used it to score with. After a big kerfuffle the game was replayed.
-
How predictable, just right now anyone with a pair of boots can hope for an England call up because the old fogey just doesn't know what he's doing and listens to anyone who has his telephone number.

Having studied most of our games thus far this season I'm getting the impression that NA really wants to play Morgan further forward because he's pretty quick and seems to read the game fairly well. He's certainly been a lot farther forward since Cork has returned. With Davis the defnsive role wasn't really assured and there was a fair old bit of confusion and to allow Morgan to get forward we had to use JWP in midfield as well.

Haven't a lot of those left Jean II Makoun is at Rennes, Petrov is sick.
-
In fact I might have missed the first minute, gone for a p*ss, too much beer. In those days anything less than 6 or 7 pints before the game and you were seen as a bit of a wimp

and with 31405 posts to your credit (well perhaps not all of them brought much in the way of credit) you'd surely know.;)

In fact in their Barca and Bayern games Drogba was probably Chelsea's best defender.
-
Whenever the transfer committee decides that he's kept their boy JRod out of the team for long enough.
-
The thing is if we'd spent 5 or 6 million on a real PL keeper in May we would be not far off mid table now. Just eliminating the error by Gazza against Swansea would take us out of the bottom 3 I think although Reading would still have a game in hand. Just that glaring error by the transfer committee has cost us far more points than blowing 7.6 million on JRod has brought.
-
Nah that was Ian Turner Wembley 1st May 1976.
-
because we spent what 85/90% of the money on attacking players, some of which we didn't really need. As I keep saying the amount is irrelevant when it's not wisely spent. When Mayuka and JRod total about 4 minutes pitch time in a match you can just write off the 11 million £ that we spent on them. Take that away and our spending probably falls more into line with our league position.
-
Arse? I thought it was an ear. Silly me.
-
But being the 2nd highest spenders means nothing. If we'd have blown 40 million on Rooney would we be any better. Our spending was irrational and imbalanced. The amount means nothing; Utd bought Kagawa for a shed load. I can't see that he has improved their game one iota. Van Persie is good agreed but they already had Rooney,Welbeck and Chicharito, their defence is still pretty average.
