  1. It was rumoured that he had get out clauses in his contract and these just had to be triggered. I really don't see why there is so much insistence on Cortese's part in all this.If the player has 'if XX come calling for xx million you can't stop me" clauses then the chairman has no choice. These clauses are more and more common, especially for hot prospects signing with 3rd division clubs, no matter what their future ambition may be.
  2. Anyway Harley has been given away to Swansea with the proviso that Exeter keep him until June.
  3. We are out of the youth cup anyway.Lost to that mega star studded academy club Bradford on penalties.
  4. Whatever, just get on with it and have done with all the distraction. Obvious from the outset of all this that he wanted to go to a "big club" .If it all comes to pass it's nobody's fault just that he (or his advisors) wanted to move upwards as soon as possible and get mega-bucks.
  5. Wun Flung Dung is better, probably cheaper too.
  6. Is he fast and can he use both feet?? All the rest just doesn't matter because that's all we need.
  7. Ottery has a thing about Morgan, always has had, he's a Brian O'Neill would have kicked him over the stands and juggled the ball all the way to the Bargate and back again before blasting it past the keeper from 70 yards wallah. If you look at just the highlights from Saturday you can see what Morgan does, that little first time dink over the defence for Ricky to waste because he can't shoot with his left foot was pretty magical.Chaplow was the relayeur on Saturday and according to more than one he was non-existant. NA got it wrong, should have played Puncheon and not Dickson. Then again he does sometimes get it wrong, it's pretty obvious that he doesn't rate Puncheon and will do anything not to play him.NB Alsace is a flippin cold place, bet it's colder in Strasbourg on a Tuesday night in February than it is in Exeter. We have roughly the same climate here, today it's -5°C at the warmest.
  8. Doubt it, look at their results of late, doubt that they have anyone of interest to us apart from the keeper.
  9. I noticed something over the last 2 games. Now of late Lambert has been working out wide left with Lallana playing off him on the same side, since Lallana has been out he's gone wide right but Ox doesn't have the same efficiency on that side. Seems to make an enormous difference to our play.Take the first chance yesterday,Morgan knocks it forward first time, Rickie gets to it down by the bye line on the right and goes for goal (could have pulled it back) now if it had been Adam behind him I'm sure he'd have pulled it back and we had time and space for a virtually open goal shot.
  10. I just want to see a fast striker who can use both feet instinctively and a new central defender with pace.If we'd had these yesterday we might have got somewhere.Lambert always goes onto his right foot even when the left is the first choice option. Noticed on the first chance he missed yesterday, left foot...easy knock in ,right foot not so much because the keeper had already closed down that angle.
  11. Couldn't get much change out of Tranmere's defence yesterday now could he. Gary Ugly would eat him up for tea as of yet. He's fast as you like but good positioning seems to get the better of him at the moment.
  12. Tuesday after next. Maybe that Charlton game initially rescheduled for the 25th might have come in handy.
  13. because he was in the side most of the time, the problems only started when we had to find a place for OX, it was Puncheon's,probably because he hadn't been performing very well, but then that was probably true of 95% of the side.
  14. I think barney must have gotten a reputation as a diver, can't see any other reason for the booking at least.
  15. I've looked at the horrorlights. Now it would seem to me that the big lump number 7 is offside in the build up leading to their first goal and for their second there's a forearm smash (on Morgan maybe) from the same player that leaves our man KO on the ground holding his head whilst they wander off and Kelvin gives them another freebie.Sh*t ref and sh*t keeper gift them the victory.
  16. True he has some sort of ankle ligament injury but he'd not played anywhere near as much as Puncheon beforehand.Just 2 games I think
  17. Seriously though we seem to be one of the few League 1 outfits who don't have any Premiership clubs' youngsters on loan. Couldn't say if that's right but it seems that way.
  18. United's side won't be all that good, not with games this Tuesday and then against Villa the Tuesday after. Villa can play and now that they've a goalscorer they may well upset a few apple carts.
  19. Pretty hard on Chaplow there, however if he was as bad as you seem to say then it's no wonder that we weren't all that good. No doubt he was supposed to be carrying the ball forward. He does seem to blow hot and cold from time to time. Must be some sort of reason why Preston's fans hated him so much, other than having played for Burnley that is.Maybe not fully fit, awful condamnation on Puncheon and Gobern (and everybody else really) if that is the case.
  20. Can't see what all the fuss is about. This was bound to happen when his loan ended and we couldn't agree terms with Millwall. He wants to go there,he isn't good enough for our starting 11 apparently and yet we keep him here. The manager knew this situation would arise, so did we all, so we just need to sort out something with a club that wants him.Millwall have obviously cocked up by buying McQuoid who can't get a game and not offering enough for Puncheon.
  21. Murphy at one end, Sharpe at the other=recipe for success in getting out of League 1
  22. Mind you having to replace him with a left back really helps doesn't it. I just cannot believe that in all the "development squad" malarkey we haven't got something that resembles an attacking midfielder. One is led to believe that apart from the 15 or 16 players that appear regularly for us all the rest is just pure rubbish. Some of these lads are 19 going on 20 and they still haven't made a first team appearance in the last 2 years whereas the young lads in our side Ox,Morgan and Adam are in the first team all the time and 2 of them have a shedload of games behind them. It's all very well being development orientated but if there's no end product and you have to use one of your left backs as a winger then something isn't quite right.
  23. But you have to face up to the facts,we gave away 2 free goals and we can't score. If Man U do that they'd lose as well. Our problem in the 2 matches that we've lost in the last couple of months is gift goals.Sure we want to win but above all for these games we don't need to lose. Take today, if Kelvin and José don't firk up we'd not have been down at half time. We wouldn't have to keep changing formation and maybe we don't concede the second goal either. Gift Goals= Major Problem.
  24. It's obviously their system that scores the goals and not the individualities.
