"While much is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened" TH

and where was that then? not that I doubt it because it sounds far fetched, but then so did some of the stuff lb told us.Most of which seemed to have some factual base in the end.
-
now it would seem to me that Bournemouth,Peterborough,Charlton and Huddersfield all have (or had in the case of Bournemouth) 2 strikers who have scored more than any one in our squad, and Lambert has 4 penalties in his score as well.Maybe they all have a shedload of penalties, I don't follow any of them closely. Fortunately we have a decent defence to mop up the inefficiency of our strikers a bit.
-
we wouldn't get 800k for an old war horse like Lambert,we wouldn't have got 2 million for him in the summer either. There are numerous young bucks in the UK and elsewhere who could do a better job in the higher leagues than an ageing D3 hotshot,

if it's in the Sun it must be true.
-
he did leave him out against Shrewsbury

I doubt if it's Blackpool in themselves that are creating apathy, it's what they represent, a side who were in the same league as us not 2 full seasons ago, probably considered as inferior to us at that time because many thought we'd finish above them.We look at where we are and where they are and it brings about a certain train of thought at least if not self pity.

because he just got a massive kick up the arse from Sir Alex, 6 months to prove himself or so it's said. -
Although in his latest piece on the OS NA does say that they think RL's injury is a minor one but they'll have to see.
-
Who cares anyway, if he's cooked his goose with NA so much the better for us. He's not up to scratch this season anyway;Although he could have done the decent thing and fallen out with the manager before the loan window closed, not that anyone would lend us a decent striker anyway.

Ah that I don't remember, saw it on wobbly justintv, just remember one incident where AL had 3 bites at the same apple,2 were blocked by the keeper and the third he sidefooted wide (or something like that) Only thing(as far as I remember) that was really impressive about that game was the partnership between Holmes and Morgan...out of this world, but we couldn't score and they eventually wore us down.

wot yer mean by that m8, see its easy,I got a PhD but I can type bad same as any over ejit.

We'll get a good crowd but I expect the tickets won't be cheap.Still it has to be better than those gods of football Tranmere and Dagenham.
-
and we missed a shedload, Lallana being the main culprit, seems he's moved on a bit since then.
-
Perhaps not the right thread but is it true that David Jones is no longer secretary or director of the club, replaced by Brendan McGlinchey (or something like that)?
-
perhaps it's not replying to letters that has (if you believe some posters) brought about David Luker's demise

the 4-4-2 jibe was only a couple of weeks back, Carlisle game. Merrington gets up my nose, I'd rather have anyone else, even Audrey could probably do a better job in my opinion.

there have been scientific studies on this, remember seeing one in the OMJ quite a long time ago though.

must be a pretty aggressive bloke as well, gets a lot of cards if I remember rightly, probably does his reputation no harm at all, having a bit of a reputation as a bit of a nasty piece of work I mean. -
But at the end of the day why would Rickie do that?? A highly improbable rumour really, unless of course Jase has been on the phone saying how good life is in the NPC.

It's not just missing chances,it's about being where he should be. The was an incident in the Brighton game where one of the wide players got past his man and pulled the balled back to about the edge of the 6 yd box or maybe a little further out,our Rickie was running in behind it so in theory he should just have to side foot it in.But he was 3 yards short, obviously the wide men have to beat their man, look up,calculate exactly where an unfit player can get to and put the ball exactly on to that spot then.Trouble is it's supposed to be instinctive on their part and Rickie is ballsing it up with his senatorial pace. -

Although I did think from a couple of incidents in the Posh game that we have so many people in the opponents box that they tend to get into each other's way. -
I don't think Rickie appears in a single one of the game photos on the OS. Probably just a coincidence though. In fact Dickson appears to be playing centre forward if you take just what appears on those images into account.

Yann M'Vila who plays the same role for France's full side has never scored in a League Game or in fact any game at club level, probably played 50 or 60 times at Rennes.Deschamps scored 2 or 3 times in 400 odd games. It's not the player that's wrong it's the role he's been given of late.Still he probably should be more flexible I guess.
