baj...i can assure you that the terror alert and threat to this country is higher than ever.. I know people who work in the security services and have experience so to speak..i wont go into anything else...but I can assure you, that they work day in day out to keep things as they are...and it is the nature of the beast that we only here about 1% of their work... baj, this terror thing is NOT spin and is NOT made up...i can assure you...like I said, I will not go into details but it is a real threat The terror threat on this country is far greater than that if the IRA...the very fact we spent 30 odd years against them makes us the leading country in the world (us and Isreal) in dealing with homeland security...and for that reason alone is why things appear "quiet"....

Admiral Lord Nelson was the man in charge that day and died alongside his men in what was the greatest naval battle of all time.... Nelson is still admired and many of his values and his ideas are still used today.. IMO, today should be the extra bank holiday people want..... Happy Trafalgar Day

also, lets not kid ourselves....should the security services come across a hardcore terrorist, they will simply do what they want and ignore the HRA.....which is a good thing IMO

i think you will find that many ofthe IRA incidents you are on about were kept out of the public eye and was against may of the then HRA rules.... in todays media frenzy world, this would be a lot harder to do...

when i worked at one of the agencys in london rd...my mate was/still is a proper loon and a hard as nails...the company used him (unofficially) through me to pay the tennants a visit... most, infact all of the idiots we rented to were students...so after a visit by said friend, they started to co-operate

I used to work for the a letting agency on London rd from 98-99...it is a tricky business when situations like these happens.. IF you are with an agency they SHOULD help you out..they SHOULD hold the deposit etc...with that, what you might find is that they will do a runner not paying the last months rent and you are left to cover that whilst not having money left to cover for cleaning etc.. IF in your contract you stated that things like removing the tree was not allowed then you have a case...whether you would achieve anything from it is another matter.. thing is, the law is heavily in favour of you NOT making these people homless..regardless of the circumstances...whether that is right or wrong is another matter...

some of these human rights groups are so small yet they get so much media attention.. EG...Liberty has less than 9k members (i think) yet the head of the group appears on the BBC news and question time now and then.. as for CCTV and what baj says...I agree...the idea of fighting terrorism isfine..but they seem to be using cameras tgo get monetry gain...how many different speed cameras are there these days??

it is a dodgy one...the shortest tenancy agreement is 6 months (i think) and after that term, provided they have not signed on again, they are automatically on a rolling contract..im sure by law, you have to give them two calender months notice to leave and they have to give you one month....... however, be aware of squatters rights etc.... as for deposit.....you are entitled to use it to rectify the place after they left...you HAVE to consider natural wear and tear and they have to agree to the amount you want to use..should they not, then it will go to independat arbitration and their decision is final...

I wont be going either way...i am now merely an armchair fan and will attend about 3 games a season.....cant be arsed anymore
