  1. Good post, too many non attending and bitter message board warriors who build an argument around the result and/or radio commentary. Not a clue a lot of them...... I would agree with you. I thought the team and Morgan in particular was excellent last night. McG worked his nuts off (for a change) and Euell was lively. A bit of shooting practice would not go amiss but if they keep playing that well every match with that degree of effort our luck will change.
  2. There is a lot of loan activity where the loan is actually an outright transfer dressed up as a loan to get around the transfer window problem. So it may be loan with a contractual obligation to purchase at the end of the term (and within a transfer window)-hence the reference to medical. Sounds like we are still plugging the debt hole to me. Thank Allah we have DMG.
  3. Has the Boyle been lanced?
  4. Probably, but that right side is a worry. James isn't a RB and DMG doesn't track back.
  5. In the dug out, the name's Jan I'll be wearing a nice suit and white shirt. :smt023
  6. I suggest all the doom and gloom merchants stay at home and type crap on this board. All proper fans who want their team to win should get their backsides down to SMS and support their team. Free beer and pork scratchings all day for all supporters (apart from particularly fat and ugly ones) makes perfect sense to me.
  7. "he's here, he's there he's every ****ing where, Jack Cork, Jack Cork........
  8. Cloning Cork...thats pretty extreme? Dollly the sheep to play a roving role in the centre of the park chewing up the turf.
  9. Cork and Surman at CM as per Norwich (it was a mistake to change it for Coventry)if Morgan still not fit. If Morgan fit Cork and Morgan at CM with Surman on the left of the three in the 4-2-3-1. Do we have another RB? Can Gillett play there?
  10. The Hobbits v the Orcs. We know who wins that one....3-0 to the Hobbits.
  11. Interesting to see the various views. Inevitbly those who rely on Sky for their live Saints games will have a more jaundiced view as we were manure for these games. Those of us who went to Derby, and saw the Birmingham (CC) and Norwich games will know these boys can play. One thing I can predict is that this season will be unpredicatable because the team is young and learning (although talented) and also the league is a league where anyone can beat anyone on the day.
  12. Let me see...... Southampton v Watford, (win) Sheff Utd v Southampton, (lose) Swansea v Southampton, (draw) Southampton v Coventry, (draw) Preston v Southampton, (draw) Southampton v Bristol City, (win) Southampton v Wolverhampton, (win) Reading v Southampton, (lose) Southampton v Plymouth, (win) Charlton v Southampton, (draw) ermmm no. But I'd be happy with 4 wins, 4 draws and two defeats if the great footballing god is listening. :smt059
  13. lots of room to spread out though...its not all bad news.
  14. It is certainly better for these youngsters to be playing first team "grown up" football rather than festering in a big club's reserve team which are generally all 17/20 year olds. That said I am sure they pick the best/most promising players.
  15. Another one! Good effort by our new recruit. He's knuckled down and has done whatever has been asked of him at RB, CB and CM. :smt038
  16. Spare a thought for what funds JP has at his disposal to improve the squad. He is working with a squad made up of predominantly untried youngsters and that is not his fault. That is a pretty harsh envivonment to work in and woud challenge any of the managers on that list who had it a lot easier. I, for one, am supportive of his efforts.
  17. Perhaps in the style of the great Khan JP's banishment of Dyer to foreign lands was to serve as an example to the other players. Which worked for Norwich but not for Coventry...... perhaps we need a decapitation next time to make the point with slightly more force?:smt090
  18. Interestingly enough the Mongol hordes led by that cheeky chappie Genghis Khan (who would I feel do a good job as an aggressive holding mid?)used to travel vast distances in a short space of time by making cuts in their horses and drinking their blood. None of that poncey lucozade sport for Genghis, oh no......
  19. Its a good thought but I think the Masai are nomadic. We need our CBs to hold their shape and not wander off out of the stadium and into downtown S'ton (probably with our current Right Back!!) in search of water holes and grazing land. I think they also like to stand on one leg (for some reason)which may be a bit of a problem.
  20. how about a couple of Zulus for the Swansea and Cardiff games? That should put the wind up the Welsh......we may need to be careful though that their injured/malingering players don't get on the pitch and try to take part later on in the game though....and who will organise the cattle stampede?
  21. Last 5 games -2 wins, 2 draws and a defeat. That's promotion form in my book:smt030. This is a league where all teams will suffer these sorts of results e.g Wolves (promotion favourites)have lost 3-0 at home to Reading and 3-1 away to Swansea of late. Unfortunately, for us, our boys like to to do this on Sky TV. Lets all get a grip and stop the panicing.
  22. Our Skipper is fit with two legs which work apparently. Still I'd ease him in as a sub. Would consider Wooton into holding mid with Mr. Perpetual Motion (a.k.a Jack Cork), and Surman on the left of the three (in the 4-2-3-1) although Surman & Cork were excellent in tandem on Tues. Can Gillett or Perry play RB I wonder??
  23. the point and/or the humour was aimed squarely at the flip/flop nature of this board following a good or a bad result not on sufferers of BPD. Lets all move on please.
