  1. Knees up Charlie Austin
  2. Thought JWP's performance as a whole was pretty average to be honest - Davis, by contrast, led the way and showed how to link defense and attack. A brilliant game.
  3. Austinovic and Longuero up top - lovely.
  4. Good price. Interested to know what wages he's on - whether he's now the club's highest earner.
  5. First, your numbers are woefully misleading. In 2013/14, QPR were in the championship and played 46 league games, so he missed a larger share of their games (around a third of the season). Pointing to the number of games we played in the prem with fewer fixtures is plain irrelevant. This season he's played 16 of 26 games (60% of games), so again your benchmark is way off. What ultimately matters is being available for the team at the time. You're being either willfully or unwittingly obfuscatory. Second, the past is not necessarily a guide to the future; nor does it always reveal a player's proneness to injury. That's the purpose of a medical which is as much a forward-looking assessment -and the fact is numerous red flags have been raised (see his failed medical at Hull and Sullivan's comments). With time, age and general wear and tear, those risks typically become larger.
  6. Would say that Connolly was a more natural goalscorer than Lambert, though obviously Lambert's contribution and all-round game were significantly bigger.
  7. Apart from supposedly failing a medical at Hull and missing QPR's promotion run-in, among many other things. We don't even have to pick apart Sullivan's comments. Concerns are well-justified.
  8. And to think NBC didn't do a special on them, much to CB Fry's chagrin.
  9. As long as its not motivated by socerer les and his apprentice wee ross thinking they can recoup the fee on him, with age and contract pointing in the other direction. Pelle's been an excellent signing and succeeded where many other, bigger name strikers have failed. Unlike Lambert, Pelle's got plenty of tread left on the tires -and I'd be happy to offer him a new contract or take the hit and let his contract run down. With strikers, its definitely a case of bird in the hand is worth two in the bush and is hugely preferable to Les and Ross trying to conjure up goals with their moneyball.
  10. Yeh Derry had a thing against Morgan. Probably part of the original Wotten Crew.
  11. No. Counting on you - you have a knack for finding method in the madness.
  12. We beat Arsenal without him. In defense of Koeman, Tadic's not been great for a while - he's been much more effective coming off the bench.
  13. Its how we beat Arsenal (only Mane and Long were genuine attackers)-and wouldn't be surprised if we go 4-4-2 again.
  14. Have you ever been right?
  15. Would probably go with Pelle over Lambert - Lambert was tailing off sharply in his last season with us.
  16. No chance. This season, Shaw was showing exactly why United paid £30m before he got injured. Bertrand's performances, by contrast, have dipped.
  17. Its closer to £175m but hey what's £25m to an internet pedant.
  18. Much like the drama-filled shootout in the regular season, then
  19. If it was hypothecated and its subsequent use properly accounted for, possibly yes.
  20. Herbal - the Daily Politics Show isn't news - its what Richard and Judy would do if they fronted a current affairs programme.
  21. With those hardened commie credentials, I'm surprised Andrew Neil isn't calling for the liquidation of kulaks and mensheviks. #bbcfifthcolumn #allintheeyes
  22. Good stuff - watching the game among your own under the floodlights is hard to beat. Whether the result is similarly obliging is another matter...
  23. Lots of talk on here about Longy's ability to run in behind. Martin O'Neill's conclusion on Motd pretty uncompromising: that's "a euphemism for not being very good on the ball"
  24. Yep remember the Man City story. Also gone, it seems, is regular training with the first team squad: just because the youngsters aren't necessarily ready to start shouldn't preclude this kind of interaction.
