Lallana over Tadic; Mané over Lallana.

Funny comments. Nothing may have changed but it doesn't take away from today's contribution. Sounds like the bridges are well and truly burnt.

Good result and deserved after the first half. Pleasantly surprised by Clasie; by contrast, thought the fullbacks werent great. Tadic showed some good touches going forward; but needs to sharpen up when not in possession.

That was one game. You were wrong then as you're wrong now. We weren't that exposed against the counterattack and all the bleating about the long-ball over top -well no more than any other team.

The Chelsea game is unbearable to watch with speedy gonzalez and the screaming banshees in earshot of the commentators.

We sang it for the first time at a Palace last Boxing Day. It helped we were cruising at the time; but more so as it was a comeback to their s**tty little song. At Chelsea, it became a chant in its own right. Saying that, it seems that some weirdos would sing it at our own players. BANTS.

Not sure playing the ball over the top, down the channels is anything but agricultural wishful thinking. Never mind that Leicester's fullbacks and covering midfielders (one a converted fullback) are no slouches. Playing quickly through them to release the likes of Mané is another matter but our midfield was incapable of keeping the ball and the ball wasn't sticking to Pelle as it has done in other games.

Likewise, pal. If you read the posts in the immediate context of surrendering a 2-0 lead, conceding in injury time and a goalkeeper situation that, almost everyone universally agrees, has been an issue for too long, you might understand the point.

Nobody's saying that. Next.

Still too much tinkering by Koeman. Two DMs have been the backbone of our success; the combination of Vic+Davis+JWP has worked largely in particular circumstances and/or against powderpuff outfits. As soon as we went 2up and our midfield showed itself neither capable of controlling possession nor of screening the defense, we should have switched to two DMs. Not only did we not do that; we threw on Clasie who at the moment resembles a lighter weight version of JWP and Davis.

No he isn't. Stek is only here until Forster recovers; at which point he'll leave and Davis will be no.2 behind Forster.
-
Take that against a resilient side. Scored from two setpieces (of sorts); but otherwise didn't test Schmeichel. It's a feature of the way we play that we don't dominate teams or control possession; so we always leave the door open and are vulnerable to changes in momentum.

What's with this bizarre need to rationalise every refereeing decision, right or wrong. Because you were incidentally connected to the refereeing fraternity? This isn't the first time...

Received a call from the ticket office a few weeks ago. They left a seemingly upbeat message, asking me to call back ASAP. I did so, only to have someone glibly try and sell me an upgrade to the president suite for the Swansea game. Never mind I have a season ticket and have happily sat in the same block for years. Guess they culled my name from the database, perhaps from the saps who went to the Midtjylland game -and thought they would try their luck by cold calling me. Left a slightly bad taste in the mouth. It's never happened before and for good reason.

James Ward-Prowse for England? ...say that again ...

What a load of tosh. -
Rodney Marsh is a sub-talksport moron. His 'chemistry' with a washed-up George Best was basically the only reason he was retained as Sky pundit for so many years. All things considered, 'Team USA' has done pretty well in major tournaments given the amount of catch-up it has had to do. It certainly put England to shame in the last WC. Alot of people are going to be disappointed, if they expect more in the short- to medium-term.

Can imagine a prem club, with the endorsement of the authorities, agreeing to play one of its home matches in the US. Much like Jackonsville's relationship with Wenbley in the NFL -only difference that the prem side would be relatively competitive.

According to Ralph anyway http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11799774.Krueger__Some_people_think_Southampton_are_bigger_than_Manchester_United_/ We're a cross between the Green Bay Packers and the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Come on. After all, some people (in the US) think we're bigger than United...

I remember you getting all giddy, awe-struck and curiously defensive about it. That's what I remember.

Not to mention he goes to Davos or something. That was all the rage on here

Take consolation from the fact that zero thought has gone into the speech. He's winging it which suggests that he's not at the coalface, making real decisions. Now if he was giving his insights into how club can close the gap with the big boys while distinguishing itself from similarly sized clubs that, in theory, should find it easier to copy our formula. That would be a worry...
