  1. Sorry, You didn't just post that did you?? Even drawing with them would be bad news. It is the smelly ones you are talking about.
  2. That Mong Bob Beard couldn't miss the opportunity to have a dig at only a division 1 side and it not being a big game saturday. He is doing our AP's job for him. God will we hit them with noise when they show up.
  3. Home kit
  4. Court has given 7 day extension

If the chapel stays family I will get ST's elsewhere. Sitting (and standing) in the Itchen was a much better experience than I have been used to this season. I had not taken into consideration how many more songs my youngest could join in when surrounded by active supporters. I have to put my hands up and admit to making a bad error of judgement in the belief I should introduce my youngest slowly. Back to the theme of this thread and yes the ground was rocking more than usual. If pompey are still in existence(not guaranteed judging by news) last night was a good rehearsal for the real thing.

Papa's movement and pace was pulling their back 4 all over the shop and that let Lambert get through to score... the 2nd goal was fantastic, you won't ever see a better OG. Antonio over-ran it...keeper came to claim it, their player decided to also boot it and it rebounded off another of their defenders and into the net - who cares though! I thought after that it could be any score, because we were rampant...but we got to about 35-40mins and just took our foot of the gas totally, kind of went into ''cruise'' mode - which we can’t do very well. They got a goal back, which was lucky from their point of view, but also pretty poor defending from us. 2nd half they huffed and puffed, but they never created anything clear cut and I’d say we were quite comfortable, without ever pushing that hard ourselves (it turned very scrappy). 3rd goal probably flattered us slightly on the night, but it's a deserved win taking in both ties - but let's not underestimate Carlisle...we're going into this as red hot favorites now, which brings it's own pressures… ratings... Kelv - 7 - didn't have to do much tbf, his distribution was a bit iffy at times though Harding 7 - good to see him back, solid as you'd expect - but not as attacking as I’ve seen him in previous games. Jaidi - 7 - good to see him back as well, won most in the air...but tried at times to play a bit too much on the dock and got into trouble, but he's still one of our best CB's Fonte - 8 - untroubled, defends with ease - really like him, way too good for this level, clear to see. Thomo - 7 - If there's one thing you can be sure about with Thomas, is that he'll get up the ref's nose most games. He was solid though - wasn't tested too much tbf. Antonio - 6 - quite quiet in all honesty, he had a few runs at them and helped get the 2nd goal…but he wasn't as involved as he was for the first leg. Morgan - 6 - iffy IMO - when the game turned scrappy he lost it a bit, started giving the ball away and losing tackles etc - good decision to sub him for wotton. Hammond - 8 - fantastic surprise to see him back and he made a massive difference IMO. In their faces all game, didn't let their midfield settle and led as you'd expect him too. We've really missed him. Lallana - 8 - another good game from adam...first 30-35mins he was everywhere, they couldn't contain him. Nice to see him finish it off with a goal too. Lambert 8 - close to his best IMO - tired a bit towards the end, but they couldn't handle him in the first 30 mins, his clever forward play (along with papa) was creating openings time and time again. It was interesting to see him taking all the set pieces (corners etc) - he's got the ability to bend a fantastic ball, so we might as well utilize it from other situations. Papa - 8 - thought he played really well, ran his socks off and he gives us a dimension which I think we've lacked in some games - someone to run beyond the last defender, it makes a huge difference. Got to agree in general with those all bar Jaidi maybe should be a 6. I thought he looked a bit off the pace and IMO had his least impressive (that is no slight on him by the way, as he has been solid for us all season when selected) game in red and white, although he did add some strength and extra experience. Good result though and a great atmosphere to boot. Wembley here we come I tend to agree with most of that. Main difference being Fonte who at times miss kicked the ball causing problems a few times. Jaidi was good in the air but showed his lack of match play. Hammond also showed the same but also why we had missed him so much. The crowd even began singing Pardews Army over and over again. This team was forced upon him by cuptied players but Alan please take note of the improved form shown by this team. The atmosphere at times was superb. Tension grew in the second half as we failed to dominate as in the first but in the end we sang our hearts out.
  8. The crowd was immense. People on here say oh it's only a mickey mouse cup but tell that to the 29000 that sang their hearts out tonight. Was really pleased to see Hammond and Jaidi start and also Papa and Antonio. please AP let us start something similar on Saturday.
  9. The soft underbelly undid us last season and got us relegated. This season it is destroying any chance we had of making the playoffs.
  10. Failing to make the playoffs was always going to be a possibility. Most of us will be happy to see us firmly entrenched in the higher middle part of the table. Just behind the Playoff places I would accept but it is the way the team is playing that is not good enough. Because a few are unhappy with our performances others jumop in and accuse us of wanting to start hiring and firing managers. What most of us who don't believe Pardew is doing well want, is to see our team showing signs of improvement. Bringing 5 players in and chucking them in at the deepend will never be my idea of good management. Too many changes and not all bettering what we already have will only worsen team bonding and moral. IMO
  11. If performances in the league don't improve he will not last past the end of the season.
  12. Martin and Racine are getting time playing together and have started to get rave notices from two ir three boards. Yet with the number of games available to our players if they aren't in the first team starting line-up how will the rest stay fit? Are these two going to be fighting for a place on the bench in the near future?
  13. Some of these new players have had 3/4 games already and at least two look no better than what we already had. Why just because we have new players do we have to play them all anyway? Is it in their contract? The easiest way to blood players is in a winning team in ones and twos. Not 4 or 5 at a time. Plain common sense in my mind.
  14. You can't buy success you say. Well this much I believe because we have spent more than anybody in this league and are going backwards. In what way is Pardew doing ok? Filling the club with players of the same/similar/lesser standard to what we already had? With one or two exceptions. Two months ago I would have agreed with you but not now. He has brought in players to replace Jaidi,Thomas and Perry. Fonte is good but are you seriously telling me that Otsemobor and Seaborne are better than Jaidi and Thomas? Barnard is by my reckoning a Lambert clone. When the window opened we were led to believe our midfield would be sorted. AP has not produced but hey that is not his fault either is it. So what options do we have? Do we let him buy more mediocre players in the close season? Will we smile benignly when the 100th player in his reign is picked to play for us?
  15. I could understand the venom coming from AP lovers if he had the team firing. Win or lose us fans have only ever wanted to see us play football. I have only been to two miserable away performances but have 2 ST's and know that what I am watching is not football. Not in the sense that I want to see anyway. In October/November we went on a great run. This gave us hope for the playoffs. Since then we have fallen by the wayside as our performances worsen. Too many changes and now we are waiting anxiously for the Dons. What will it take for some to see that all is not well?
  16. TDD Colchester know how to play on a crap pitch. We don't as the others will stress.
  17. we are now playing different teams which shows what we had against what we now have. I know which I prefer. Everyone goes on about changing the manager being a bad thing if done too often. I happen to believe that changing your team too much will hurt even more. AP has brought in too many players and for that I believe we are suffering.
  18. How the hell is it over night. He has had 8 months and for the last two we have gone backwards. He has replaced Jaidi and Thomas with two players of less experience and at the moment anyway prowess. He has brought in a Lambert clone. I believe these were unneccessary in so far as they did not improve our team. I would accept fonte as a bloody good signing. Why not leave it there. We had perry and Thomas as back up. The LB position we all wanted sorted but at the moment it looks like we still need it to be sorted. JO does not look like a good enough option. I pray he will prove me wrong. Puncheon may be skillful but we really needed some muscle to back up the skillfull players already here. Christ have we forgotten how our weak lightweight team performed last season. It looks to me as though we are heading the same way with some of our purchases. I may be harsh but I can see unwanted players coming here and showing us why they weren't wanted. That cannot be good for the club.
  19. They have been doing that to their next user of his seat.
  20. could it be wight of numbers wanting same thing plus other tickets.
  21. Mills was loaned to S****horpe last season and helped them into and through the playoffs. Why does he need experience when he has been in a similar position, if not a more important game being a league related game.
  22. Trouble is we all read what he says and take our own interpretations from what he said. For me he has simoply implied that he is not satisfied with the performances being displayed currently and in the recent past.
  23. Who piscked the new members of staff then? Oh yes, the manager. A managers job is to manage. He employs staff to do his will. At least that is how I used to operate in my little world. The whole thing under AP is not working efficiently so who do we blame if not the manager?
  24. I think most of us would havwe accepted that especially after getting as close as we did. However when the cup runs started they helped us get into a winning run. The team started looking worse in my book when we started playing one team in the cup and another in the league. Yes I know we have had some injuries and they have not helped but chopping and changing hasn't either. Plus our cup playing side has shown much more fight. This is something all top teams have in their side.
  25. with Lallana we have to decide whether he is worth persevering with. I believe he could become a Saints legend with the right leadership. He still needs to toughen up more but he has grown in stature since last season. He still misses some good oportunities because he hasn't enough power in his shot but he is getting there. He does now tackle though not always effectively. I would love to see him in a midfield 5 playing inside a LM player. He has a lot of skill and next season is surely make or break for him.
