Have to agree that shilts would be number 1

I thought that the January window was when we would see our weaknesses filled. Fonte is a bloody good buy if he continues to improve. Seaborne may next season prove to be a worthwhile buy as well. JO has not looked as good as Thomas so far. Nor as good as James come to that. We still have no pace which will hurt other teams. Antonio may develop into a very dangerous player but at the moment I am not impressed. Connolly,Jaidi and Murty are all worth a punt, your words. AP has added to our squad with a trio of players that we had quickly begun to depend on. When Murty came back last time I felt sorry for him because he looked so unfit. Hammond again has not impressed for a month or two. In fact since becoming captain. Harding has done ok but was always getting exp[osed but now Mills may have ousted him as LB. I hope so because he could easily be our LB for a decade. Remember that he was LB for S****horpe when they won promotion last season from this league. Also he was one of the bright spots in pre season. aP has done a lot for this club but he is not perfect and has made mistakes. name a manager that hasn't. We still need the midfield sorting out with players that are capable of playing 2 and maybe 3 games in a week and playing well.

You say he is building for next season but where? Take Lamberts goals away and we would be in the relegation zone. You don't need to be a brain surgeon to work that out. Yes we played brilliantly against MK Dons for large portions of the game. Yes we did well against Ipswich. Last season we managed to play 5 or 6 really good games throughout the season and got relegated. Same as last year our goalie is giving us hope by his superlative performances. We don't need hundreds of time wasters (not wishing to be detrimental) but we do need a couple of good players that we can learn to depend on.

+1 There lis a lot of sense in there. We are signing a lot of players that are simply not up to it. For that we have only one person to hold responsible. We should be after quality and not quantity.all season we have needed a midfield general and a decent holding midfielder but we still don't have one. Speed is also something that is lacking and we are over half way through the season.

one way of getting some money isn't it.
-
Have to take your word for that as that is one drink i have yet to try.

I shall be there with my 11yo girl and 6yo boy. He will be singing his little heart out unless we get another misery in front of us. 3 points is a minimum requirement. We would like an improved performance as well but the points first. PLEASE.

I still await the arrival of a RB that is worth calling a RB. He has played James there for most of the games murty has been imjured. Thomas who has done the job best gets the odd game. Now we have Otsemobor who has to improve drastically if he is going to show he can do the job. Thomas is the one for me unless we play Fonte there. We have been struggling in midfield all season. At the beginning AP couldn't do much but he keeps bringing in players that may have a bit of class but seem injury prone and are not midfielders. Now, I only ever ran a sunday side in the Croydon and Mitcham league against the likes of Brixton united. but I do know the importance of a solid hard working midfield. AP plays James,Wotton,Lallana and Holmes all without pace and you say he knows his best team. We have two out injured and with a squad of such large numbers we have nobody to replace them. I am sorry but if that is the case then the players that he is bringing in to the club are simply not good enough. AIMO

We have an owner that has allowed our manager to increase a squad which was already far to big when he arrived. His words not mine. He does buy the odd good player at this level but also some very odd signings have arrived as well. My doubts now are as to whether he actually knows his best team. RB still seems to be a big problem as is our midfield.
-
If we are going to spend money please buy a strong Midfield General.
-
On performances seen so far i would have thomas, Fonte, Jaidi and Mills as our back four. I have been saying the same thing now for over two years. We have not got a midfield. I am not alone in thinking that this is a weakness. If we can see it why the hell can't the people that matter?
-
Every team we face is so up for it so what is new. We have a manager who still doesn't seem to know his best players. That is my sole concern.

The goalie in question begovic has been in excellent form for ther blues.

with Palace now in administration I am slightly puzzled by the we want Danns brigade not reappearing. -
If the blue few are taken over by the libya connection i would love Nicola to move in the Mafia for our protection.
-
I am getting very frustratrated by his team selections at times.
-
+1 And a lot of it lies to the east of us.
-
true but Admin might force the sale of players or if to late the loaning out to reduce bills.
-
If the game goes ahead that will mean that Pompey have been saved. HMRC will shut them down if they don't get their money. So if we play the fans of the Poorer side should be in an exstatic frame of mind. This could lift their players as well..
-
Why the hell do we have to dig someone out for a simple statement. One look at the table will say it all. Nearly everybody on here is laughing due to the fact that we have spent more money. Well i for one have serious doubts about Otsemobor being good enough for the team. Seaborne looks as though he needs time to bed in. If he is good enough I envisage him playing more next season than this. We are 3 points above the drop zone. Apart from last season when I saw the worst team we have had for over 50 years playing for us. We all believed we were to good to be in such trouble. The post you have responded to at no time says we will go down. Just gives a little reminder that we are not yet safe.

Markus Liebherr To Spend Spend Spend!!!!

My one regret so far this season is that the southern final is over two legs or finishes after the transfer window closes. If we were already due a Wembley trip with a distinct chance of another that would possibly be enough to attract higher level players. -
makes no sense that atitude. Let's beat them and then sing but what if the unthinkable happens and we have failed to win beforehand?
-
The FA were told politely that pompeys books are due for another close inspection. Reminded them that Luton were hammered when such previous offences as mismanaging funds occured. Also asked if they were backing the pompey mismanagement.
-
Bout time he scored for us. Let us hope that the same ref doesn't have us again this season or he could look for revenge.

If we can't get stock maybe we will give Gillett a chance.
