Having seen the comical nature of most of those goals I would sincerely hope that we do not make the same type of errors as MK Dons did yesterday.

This good game James had was more about the forwards missing gilt edged chances. I was in the Chapel directly behind the goal and watched the poor attempts made by Waigo. His first header just about reached James. Who luckily for him fell on a ball that was almost stationary. The second wasn't much better. James did not look safe and made a couple of errors that could have been costly against a better attack. Though he was a lot better than Kelvin was in the second half. My main hope is that this Puncheon chap can cross because we need the likes of Lampard and or Barnard in the middle banging in the chances. I do have one question that I feel needs an answer. Why on earth when we were fighting to get back in the game was Perry left at the back to sweep up. Harding and one other I could have understood.

I am a regular in the Chapel and feel it only needs a few reguler leaders to answer the calls from the Northam etc. If we can keep filling the ground the rest should look after itself. The whole ground rocked and when it starts rocking like that it is infectious.

That is what I have said before. Bart was a good keeper for us and until his injury he was being really rated by most on here and elsewhere. He needs to play so as we are preparing for our all out assault on the title next season why not see whether he can handle it. I personally think that he can and will. The added bonus being that he should improve with the games as well. AP should put him in goal and tell him he is there for the rest of the season. At least that way he would have the chance to get over any nervousness he feels at the beginning. If he fails then we need another goalie before next season starts..

We will need to start this week against Norwich. Every week some of the top teams are playing each other. It would be nice to see a lot of draws but more important to me is the way we play. We have to lay down a marker for next season. The team we have now might bear no resemblence to next years by the time the season begins. What I want now is to see players playing well enough to earn a place in our team next season. As far as I am concerned the whole team is now on alert. Every last one of them is playing for their place in our title winning squad.

Have to agree with you over Antonio and Davis. I was actually hoping that Bart would play. I was in the Chapel and agree that Davis should have done better. The toilet and drinks situation has to be looked at closely. The club wants us to fill the ground but these facilities are hardlyfit for the small crowds of last year.

If we had been able to score in the time we ran the show we might have been able to relax a bit and then pace ourselves a bit better. Or make a sub or two to strengthen our defence. Yesterday I was down but not because of the way our side played. If we can produce performances like that with our new faces I will be over the moon./ The first 70 minutes would have destroyed near enough every team in our league if not all. If Pards can get the players to perform like that most weeks any AP doubters(myself included) will soon be back with the rest of you.

Not my views, just people paid to give them for the global coverage he beat three players allhands up, got to the byeline and delivered the perfect cross for Lallana. Quite simply you could not ask any more of a winger on that occasion. Notg quite enough of those occasions. IMO Hammond was the weak link today. He looked miles off the pace again and O'Hara gave him the run around. _----------------_-----------_------------------------------------------------------_-------------_------------------_------------------------------------- CHEZ your are a fecking piece of dogs excrement. Mind you with a back four whom will soon be eligible for their state pensions we were always likely to end up with egg on our faces against Pompey's lightning strike force. On the whole Pardew gets it about right in his post-match piece but we can't get too relaxed as Pompey are the worst team in the Prem by far and really only of mid-table CCC standard. The back four today were unpardonably awful, they got away with it for 60 minutes only because Lallana, Hammond & Schneiderlin bossed the middle of the park so not letting Pompey get their act together. Once that trio were knackered the back four were overwhelmed and their limitations cruelly exposed. Thank goodness it's only our reserve back four these days. The second goal was symptematic of where we were at the beginning of this season. Too slow in defence and when we started chasing the game we had no cover for the slowest man on the team. I am proud and still in my colours because the team gave their all. Nobody can complain about the effort only the missed opportunities and maybe's.

Ricky Lambert corners and free kicks
SFC Forever replied to Matthew Le Tissier's topic in The Saints
If he is going to keep taking them then perhaps Barnard has to be starting in all the games. We need someone who can put the ball into the net on a regular basis. -

Exactly the same problem as with Antonio. Time and time again our RB was left without cover when Antonio went to the left corner area for a throwin. We have to learn to mix up corners and free kicks. Every corner should not be the same in the same way as throwins so someone sort it out please. -

Leaving for the game and am far more excited than I was for Tuesday night. There is only one local derby.
-
I am in the chapel and have left the kids at home so hope some others have done similar. If the crowd is anything like Tuesday then we will be fine.
-
Most of the swearing is aimed at the ref in every game I see. The usual fat bastard as the goalie takes the goal kick but nothing like that.
-
Agreed
-
Actually it is not that stupid an idea. We would end up with a bigger stadium and the blue noses hate us so much that they wouldn't want to be part of it anyway. At least the rabis ones. Only difference I would make is for the stadium to be 45000 plus as a few genuine footy fans would come across. plus for big teams like Utd Livpool Gooners etc we would have enough room to offer more tickets.
-
Don't forget Newport County. Chester City could beat pompey to it.
-
I agree. The prize money will make no difference to them whatsoever.
-
Last year when we were marchuing against Lowe etc we discussed the use of a coffin. I think it would be a brilliant idea if someone was able to make one up and drape it in blue. Then we could re-enacy the march. As a sign of our deepest sympathy(?) or something.
-
by half time though only.
-
I suppose with skate becoming so rare we shouldn't be surprised they are on their way out.
-
We will have 28000 at the game cheering us on. we will make more noise than ever before because we may never have another chance to beat the blue side again.
-
Big Ron and any members of 76 team still with us.
-
Would be a lot cheaper if we dug a great big hole and let them swim in it.
